Also Patrick's negative influence on SpongeBob for bad behavior in the Hooky episode. Mr. Krabs is has a sinful greedy and selfish spirit that I wouldn't want to be around. The fact that Mr. Krabs is in love with money is a BIG red flag. The only character who's a real friend to SpongeBob is Sandy. She stays true throughout.
Patrick’s whole... shtick in “Nature pants” is played for laughs yes, but every time I watch that episode, wether it’s the writing or Bill’s performance or both makes me genuinely distraught, upset and sad deep down.
Whenever this show resorts to sadness and it isn’t for a comedic moment it always messes me up on the inside. ‘Dumped’ and ‘Have You Seen This Snail’ come to mind for times where the reality of what’s going on actually brings a tear to my eye, and even makes me cry depending on the day.
Him breaking Ol' Reliable doesn't get much attention, but it's such a heartbreaking gesture. The most pure symbol of their bond, literally shattered. "I hope you're happy."
I think my favorite thing that came from early spongebob, specifically the Culture Shock episode, is that now theres whole generations who cheer for the people who clean stages between acts.

FUN always gets me choked up man. It's such a hilarious episode, but the writing is just so incredibly effective, and it builds Plankton's character. Even if he was pretending the whole time, it's just such a tragic look into why someone so mean acts the way they do. Just one of many examples why Spongebob will always be the best cartoon ever made.
There's actually a popular fan theory that Spongebob's parents are rich and pay squidward to live next to him and keep him out of trouble. It certainly explains how a cashier can afford a pretty big house, not to mention a fry cook
Owning a house wasn't always a problem. I know and have heard of people who got their two story house and land in the 80's and they pay $600 a month currently on it. The issue is housing is insane in the 2000's and 5-10x the price because of investors. Expensive housing is only a Gen Y and Gen Z dilemma. Wasn't always that way.
The Spongebob move was released during season 3 but it was basically meant to be the end of the show, so I'd say up to you when you want to react to it.
