My current car is a Nanda BD8 1/8 Nitro buggy and I wanna get an electro monster or stadium truck in 1/10 scale or possibly a tad smaller. Is HPI still a viable choice? Had an HPI MT2 stadium truck many years ago, but got rid of it since I had nobody to drive with back then so I got bored with RC.

  • @jbirdmax
    @jbirdmax 3 года назад +15

    I’ve never understood why they don’t put structure folds into the chassis or just build it with overkill in mind. When you build a bike for a 200LB man, you have to take conservation of momentum into consideration. A 200LB man can weigh in at close to 2000LB when landing a jump. These chassis’s are under designed by orders of magnitude.

    @mymodel6 3 года назад +4

    Guys, why are you all so shocked that it bent? It's of no real surprise that it might need an additional bash bar if you really want to launch it like Kev did.
    This thing weighs around 15kg fully built, think about that! These are not little 1/10 lightweight plastic bashers, you HAVE to be realistic, if you launched a real car that high, it would bend in half, real monster trucks break, the heavier something is, the more likely it is that it will bend.
    This thing IS an absolute beast, look at the way he was ragging it around that track, THAT's what this is good at, NOTHING else you can buy at any price will handle terrain like this can. Stop comparing this to an Xmaxx, yes the Xmaxx is a tank, but it also handles like a tank, launching things 40ft in the air is not all RC driving, this thing runs rings round an Xmaxx in every single way except the extremes of durability, but you don't buy a Lambo for durability do you? Handling!!!
    I would say the arms are disappointing, but that's a £40 upgrade, you all need to get real...

    • @KevinTalbotTV
      @KevinTalbotTV  3 года назад +3

      we are shocked because its marketed as extreme bash! and seeing as all landings were not bad i expected better and its not our fault that its heavy, thats just making excuses. I agree it is a beast and it went round that track like a boss, they just should not have called it a exb

    • @mymodel6
      @mymodel6 3 года назад

      @@KevinTalbotTV I've just ordered a Radical bash bar, that'll sort it.. :)
      I understand that labeling it EXB can be seen as slightly misleading, but everything has it's limits, calling it extreme bash doesn't automatically qualify it for 40ft drops, i'd consider what you were doing on the BMX track extreme bashing, and it would take that all day long.
      The trouble is that people like you Kev have literally redefined what extreme bashing actually is, doesn't mean these things will ever take that sort of abuse, and it is abuse! :)
      Truth is, ONLY an Xmaxx can take that kind of a beating, but it handles like a dump truck compared to this, so like you said, they are two different beasts and shouldn't really be compared at all.

It is a lot heavier truck this is the problem with it I like the Cracken a lot better because I cannot keep the X max upright at all. Yeah I’m not worried arrma will get this right eventually. 7075 Al is aircraft structural grade aluminum. It’s a lot the strongest (40ksi yield of 6061 and 70ski yield for 7075), but it’s really brittle (compared to 6061 anyways) due to the chemical composition and the amount of cold work. The “T6” bit refers to the annealing and the “6511” bit refers to the cold working the material undergoes. The “11” means it was stretched 11%. I believe that’s right but my engineering is a bit rusty.

    m2c is also 7075 t6 the bracing makes a lot of the difference perhaps try drilling the chassis where the m2c bracing would fit and just install the m2c bracing. Although 7075 is aircraft grade aluminium so shouldn't bend easily it could be case of the weight of the beast so bracing as mentioned or it's not been heat treated or anodized properly rushing the process or it just didn't take as well on that chassis will be interesting to see if others have the same problem.
