Arrma really just needs to send some engineers out to visit you and have you test their trucks early and fix the things they end up breaking. It's such an easy solution/idea I'm shocked Arrma hasn't done it already.
When you have something that's 30% heavier than the Traxx, the amounts of energy being exerted on the parts increase substantially. I think these class of Arrma cars will just have to deal with more breakage than normal, which makes it high risk higher reward if people are into that kind of things. Also plays into that theme when the parts are more expensive too.
You can't dummy proof stuff. There's a point of diminishing returns. You keep adding weight you gotta add more weight to make other parts stronger. Look at the big Raminator trucks. They're already 100 lbs and more fragile than any Arrma or Traxxas.
I'm not convinced the esc is bad. I have issues using servo testers to control them as the end points are not set up in the esc as compared to the radio. But either way, going bigger anyway!
Maybe calibrate the neutral point in the esc to your servo tester so the esc doesn't think you're trying to change the settings by switching it on while holding the throttle, (most escs allow this to set them up for new handsets and receivers)? Just a thought. Love all your vids though dude, no mechanical sympathy allowed, just send it!
If you put earplugs in the center diff the top speed will increase. Right now the center diff is sending all the power to the front wheels which have less traction. Downside is you are more likely to shred the rear diff/break the axle pins so I put the Vitavon setup in mine
