@@pap-frSimpsons reference
Delightfully devilish!
The parsley is the perfect final touch. Truly an unforgettable luncheon.
👌

Thanks Simpsons
Well, you are an odd fellow but I must say... You steam a good clam
A truly unforgetable luncheon
💯💣💥
Short, sweet, to the point. That's exactly what I want in a food how-to video.
Guess you better subscribe then because that's exactly why I do this! ☺ 🍻
I'll never go back to plain old steamed clams after trying this method. Absolutely delicious. Thank you

Oh no. I said “Steamed Hams😊😊” jk I love Steamed Clams
"Skinner with his crazy explanations, the Superintendent is gonna need his medication when he Skinner's lame exagerations there'll be trouble in town tonight!"
Hey, Simpsons fan... Did you "like" your own comment?? 😂
@@PMGK why do you think he's a simpsons fan?
You turned a simple clam technique into a gourmet flavored feast! Your hard work is appreciated!
I think this tutorial will never get old. Thanks from a newly promoted "househusband".
I found this after doing a clam dissection in marine biology. Never really eat seafood, let alone see how it's cooked. Didn't know you eat *everything* within the shell. It's interesting how literally all of the bivalvular organs are edible from its foot/"tongue", muscles, to what's left of its mantle. Super interesting. Seems like everything shrivels as it's cooked, and from it shriveling the outer stretches of muscle that fasten the mantle and gills down separate and retract to the middle blob of cooked clam meat, causing the clam to "open", and causing it to be easily edible and pliable from its shell, and not simply because the clam is dead. Like I said, super interesting.
Went out yesterday and today and harvested about 50 nice clams. I can't believe I waited until I was 50 to get involved in it. This is just what I needed! Thanks.
That is awesome!
Thanks so much for this recipe! I have been searching for something like this for years. My wife and I had almost this exact recipe with a little wine and some whitefish on our honeymoon in Washington, but being Midwesterners we had no idea how to make it. Making this brought back many fond memories.
Glad you liked it. Thanks to the "Simpson's", I get a ton of pointless comments on this video so, I'm glad it reached someone that could actually put this recipe to some good use!
This was my first time cooking clams. And I'm not a cook at all. Turned out delicious! Quick and tasty way to cook clams!
I've been cooking clams for years but tonight I did it your way and I've never had clams so good!! I especially loved the sauce, so much better than dipping them in butter. Thank you so much!!!
Awesome, I'm glad you like it.
Now make your way over to my stuffed clams recipe. They're amazing!
Thank you. Presented in a clear, concise, and straightforward way, which I appreciate.
You'll appreciate my whole channel then and, it gets better than this! 🙌 🍻
THE BEST BASIC AND THE BEST IN GENERAL CLAMS COOKING! I usually add white or even red wine into the pot .. before serving THANK YOU!
Me too but, sometimes, I've got it keep it clean for the kiddies. Have you tried my Mussels recipe? I've got splash of Sherry in that one and the dish is to die for! poormansgourmetkitchen.com/mussels-in-a-lemon-garlic-butter-sauce.html
Yeap, works well! Thanks!
🍻
I got some today as a early Christmas gift. Thank you for the instruction.
Glad I could help!
At 0:55... WHY is there smoke coming out of your pan?
that isn't smoke, it's steam
Steam from the steamed clams we're having. Mmmmmmm steamed clams!
.
Simple, good, thank you 🙋🏻♂️

Goddamn I loved this video. Short, simple, fun and to the point. Thank you! Taking my 4 year old daughter clamming for the first time tomorrow and I want her to cook up what we catch, she's going to love this.
Daughters are important. I know, I have 2 of them. Teach them the ways and you'll never regret the time you spend doing it! 😉
Didn't know this Video was 10 years old. LOL. First time seeing it. Glad I did !
Yeah, these days it mostly gets views from fans of the Simpsons looking for steamed hams. 🙄
My 13 year old son made these for me after I came home from a long day at work! They were terrific! Thanks for your great & simple recipe! He loves your videos!
+Maria Naranjo Awesome. Chef in the making right there.
that's as simple as it gets thank you i'm trying this right now I just came from the store and brought 3 dozen clams. Thank you
No problem. I hope you enjoy!
Thanks. They came out well!
Best video by far very easy because I don’t have a steamer I’ll use the pot 🙌🏽
Just tried it. It was amazing. Added some siracha into the broth and sprinkled lemon juice over them when i took them out. Instead of scallions, I used green onion and didn't add the olive oil.
Sounds great! Thanks for letting me know.
Wonderful, I’ve just started seashore foraging and I’ll cook them just like this, thanks. 🦑🦀🦐
Wonderful!
I just tried this recipe tonight for dinner thank you so much for the vid 👍
You're welcome. Thanks for letting me know. I'm glad it served you well!
My Brother ! Can't wait to catch some this Summer at the Back Bays in Delaware and Maryland. Just had some Manoes and Fresh Caught Blue Cats this past weekend. LOVE from Crabby Daddy here in Southern Maryland
Yeah, boii! 😂 I've got some awesome clam recipes on here... my favorites are the clam dip, for potato chips, clam chowder with bacon and my clam sauce for pasta. 😁 🍻
This was a huge hit! BTW I had some extra broth so I saved it and later used it for shrimp. Made garlic/parm cheese toast for dipping. Thanks for the inspiration!
Your welcome. I'm so glad you liked it Kristina. Also, your Shrimp and Garlic/Parm Cheese toast for dipping sounds great! Thanks for getting back to me. Your comments are welcome anytime!
Looks pretty good. I'm gonna try this today.
Sweet 🍻

Well, watcha waitin' for?? lol🍽️
Poor Man's Gourmet Kitchen can’t seem to find any places that have them where I’m at , only a Chinese buffet with an awfully low health score. I used to cook a lot so I thought how hard can it be? Definitely trying this weekend with jalapeños 😋😋😋
@@mathaibunny2476 we had the same experience! I found them today at whole foods
thanks! 😊 I'm making this today for my sister's birthday, we're doing seafood this year.
+Chrischel Alcantara Sounds Great. Happy Birthday Sissy!!!

This helped!!! Thank you
Wow! Though I love cooking and baking and have lots of recipes but I've never tried to cook clams: just because have no idea how to clean them:( THANKS A LOT FOR THIS UPLOAD! Now I can try to look for fresh ones to surprise my guests:)) THUMBS UP!
I actually cooked Mussels for my family this weekend. You might be interested in that recipe as well. Here it is: poormansgourmetkitchen.com/mussels-in-a-lemon-garlic-butter-sauce.html
Victoria H Just get a nice stiff plastic-bristle brush from Walmart and scrub the outside shell of the clam real good under cold water. You'll get any sand or grit off that way and remove any type of algae that might have been growing on the clamshell that could follow the taste of your clam broth afterwards.
Perfect. Thank you 😊
You're welcome 🍻
Cooked to perfection!
Always! 🍻
i used to just steam cleams and dip them in sriracha. thanks for this.
Thankks i will try it sir :) i love clamp !!
Hope you enjoy this recipe!
Just did this recipe tonight... no shallots or onions, but I followed everything else. They were AMAZING. Thank you!
+Rory Stern Good to hear. I'm curious, are you not a fan of Onions?
+Poor Man's Gourmet Kitchen I LOVE shallots and onions. I didn't have any shallots, and I guess I didn't even consider adding onions until after I left the comment. LOL
Oh! And I made a second batch yesterday, this time pan frying some leftover bacon with the butter and garlic. WOW! Even better.
Can't go wrong with bacon. It seems to go good with almost everything! Good Job Rory!

Mahalo...! Always wanted to buy clams from our local Asian store but wasnt sure how to cook it. Thanks to your recipe I can go ahead now and buy Fresh Clams and Steam them exactly like you did it. Mahalo 🤘😊
Wonderful, are you on the main land or another island?
@@PMGK
Im in Kent WA. There's a lot of seafood restaurants and Asian stores that sell fresh seafood, plus there's always a lot of fishermen with boats up here in the Pacific Northwest with fresh catches daily.
Don't I know it. I worked for American seafoods out of Seattle and fish the Bering seas in Alaska when I was a younger man. I have a brother that lives there now too. Anyway, clams are very easy to steam but you should also check out my stuffed clams with fresh bay scallops recipe as well. ruclips.net/video/R-hI4MJGCOc/видео.html
Thanks. Great video
NP 🍻
love it
My only adjustment to this technique is to soak the calms in heavily salted water for about 30 minutes and carefully drain, watching for sand that has sunk to the bottom of the bowl. I like to steam them in wine and garlic and add parsley or arugula before serving. And a good baguette with good butter is a must to soak up the juices. Clams are salty, so no added salt is really needed. To fancy it up you can add a bit of tomato paste and a bit of saffron.
Sounds Superb! 🥂
Wow ! That was easy ! 😀
Always
Thanks for the video it really helped
That's what I like to hear. Thanks for watching!
looks delicious! 😁
+Raine Wynyard Thank you! Definitely give this one a try.
