Prosecutor has not proved anything yet. Not sure yet of innocence or guilt. Worst prosecution I’ve seen in a long time. Sounds like there may have been some abuse.
She was being nice to husband- so she can move and take child- if he didn't agree for move- state if Florida would not let her move!!
She's guilty
You're guilty!!!
Innocent till proven guilty get it right
@John Sant Jr. Honestly that was beautiful to hear, what a lovely, caring, and empathetic man. Horrible situation, yet sometimes we get glimpses of the best of humanity in the worst of circumstances and I am grateful to know there is still kindness on the planet. Thank You for caring for a neighbour in crisis with such a calm and genuinely caring manner. I applaud you sir and you keep hope alive inside me for a world where we all care for eachother.
Sounds like the OJ situation, except Nichole shoots first.
I am new to this, can someone tell me how talented and successful was Ashley as a ballerina before she met Douglas? What was she doing for work at that time? I heard she was at a Trump event/Ben Carson? I wondered if she was seeking out a rich man, and how much money did Douglas have?
I heard some accusations of poor behavior on his part before, and him being willing to marry her so quickly suggests some psych issues. Her accusations of him before his death sound like they could be lies, but I’m just looking into all this now.
What you mean? He admitted to some of the allegations Ashley made
They need to fix the audio on this

strange how these people have guns and concealed carry permits to protect themselves from the badguys, but then its someone who is supposed to love you that shoots and kills you with a gun you bought for them
This is almost unwatchable due to the choppy audio. Disappointing for CourtTV
I'm ready to stop watching. The video keeps breaking up.
Why would this neighbor not immediately call 911 after being told someone was shot?!
remember not guilty does not mean innocent, it means there was not enough evidence to prove guilt beyond a reasonable doubt. She definitely is not innocent, but is she not guilty? That we will find out.
Do you listen to yourself? Your comment makes no sense. Seems like you’re all over the map.
@@Vandeano310Hi, Ashley Benefield! How do YOU think court went today? Thanks for joining the chat! 😉
@Vandeano310 how does that not make sense? It's the legal standard. The burden is on the state to prove this case beyond a reasonable doubt.
this defense lawyer is a piece of work :D
I couldn’t be a trail I’d get in trouble falling asleep
What is wrong with the audio on this video?? Very frustrating!
Jeez the audio is so bad 😢😢😢
Does the camera need to be on the defendant that much? Jfc it's so boring to stare at her
It’s the same with the KR trial
Dafuq with the audio?
The audio is so bad. Is anyone else having trouble
Hello she called it in herself. They gave not proven abuse
This video is awful can’t even understand half of it
What’s up with the prosecutor’s hair?
The video / sound quality socks & this trial is going to take a month if they arrested don't slow up on the objections.
Hopefully the dead husband’s family gets custody of his daughter! Mommy is going to prison.
I don't think the state has its heart in prosecuting her, but they can't just not prosecute her. All the dead husbands would be piling up.
Why can’t they just not prosecute her? They have no evidence against her other than she was foolish to marry him in the first place. You can’t prosecute someone for being stupid.
@@clpendygraft people are prosecuted every day for being stupid. There is plenty of Circumstantial evidence in this case. When anyone kills another person a full and public investigation must be done.
Hello than who the hello do you think shot him …these remarks make no sense Regardless whether it’s self defense or not. I see no evidence of self defense
She can’t even look at what she did to Doug
Body language screams fake, guilty as heck

I concur. 🫤
Yeah the extremely fake crying and sniffling irked me…
Anyone else feel like we have Lally on defense? 💀
If he brings those text messages and it’s not just gonna be his credibility, it’s gonna be her credibility as well because it’s gonna make Her look like somebody who was in it just for the money.
Oh no!! Another attorney is dial tone!😂
Wow, I don't remember this case. But she sure looks unphased. Emotionless, actually. How do you "accidentally stick someone with a 🗡? That's wild.🧐
Uhh hoo, Judge real proud of his jury chairs and blankies😆👌
What’s with the dark eye shadow I guess it makes her look sad
Yep she is making herself look like a victim and then she is also using her young daughter as a pawn and having her protest outside the court house (her daughter is 6yrs)
@@Annettespetessentialspathetic pathetic can only imagine what they’re putting in her head about her dad

I'm beyond frustrated by this prosecutors lack of zeal. I'm not a lawyer but I picked up on what the judge saw and the prosecution said nothing. The victims daughter was asked about an interview with a reporter. Then the defense started asking her about social media post. Where was the objection by the state? The defense was fishing for information and the judge mentioned that. I have a feeling this women will be acquitted.
Unfortunately she was found guilty 😔
@@tyreseforren6721 I'm glad she was found guilty.
@Deepwld10 way to much reasonable doubt
@@tyreseforren6721 hmmm..I'm not going to say there was a mountain of reasonable doubt. But I wasn't impressed with the states case. I believe Her testifying and her lawyer pushing the abuse card cost them the trial.
She's the one that shot him, could she have created the hole in the kitchen on a previous occasion.
Such bad audio! I went to Law&Crime network, could actually hear what the witness was saying.
It is just a horrible transmission! Court TV should do better!
He punched a dog in the face! If that's true I'm out!
I believe her.
Cool judge!
The defense attorney said Tommy Douglas was creepy. I’m thinking the defense attorney is creepy…..not very good at his questioning. He comes across as trying to twist the evidence. That’s never a good tactic IMO.
Its crazy how all of you are screaming guilty but haven't even heard all the evidence. I hope yall never serve on a jury
YES!!!! Innocent until proven guilty!!! the state hasn't even began their case at this point.
They’ve heard of this case, evidence, podcasts, and watched the stand your ground (?) trial last year.
@@jacksgl777 asking sincerely (without snark...unheard of, I know lol) but for someone who didn't see all of that, is there info in it that is much different? I wanted to come in with an open mind. The few things I've seen still leave me NG and feeling personally ick about Doug (not that he "deserved" to die), and that she was reasonably in fear of her safety. What am I missing that people so strongly feel this way who know past case info? I can Google if you prefer, was just looking for your input bc I appreciated your insight. :)
@@ReinaLovesLaw I watched crime weekly with Stephanie Harlow and Derrick Lavaser(?). And also, Kendall Rae podcasts on RUclips done almost 1 year ago. Then another like 25 minute RUclips from someone else’s story in it done months ago. Finally watching “ Lawyer you know “ on RUclips kinda off and on. He is only watching this trial so he doesn’t have the background. Seems people just watching this trial tend to think not guilty. I’m leaning to “guilty” from what I’ve heard although this prosecutor may not have convinced the jury. 💁♀️
There’s also a decent review by Legalbytes each day on RUclips to explain the case. She gives a little bit of background too
@@jacksgl777 I like LYK and legal bytes. I think I need to pull Florida 2nd degree murder elements with affirmative defense (Although I work CA family and civil law I've got minimal crim law background) to see what the differences are. Maybe it's my defaulting to CA law that holds me firm at the NG. I appreciate your input. Definitely an emotional case.
Ugh Audio on video stream going out right at critical parts of state opening statement. 😫
Why is this audio sooooo bad???
Do law and crime and court tv use the same camera? They need to fire the camera person. I did not come to stare at witnesses describing pictures and evidence up, that everyone else can see. How are we to act like jury, if we can't see evidence?
I cant even watch this. Audio is horrible and Def is so blah
Court TV has gone woke with their nasty, biased, unqualified guests, so I will be switching to another network to watch trials. What options are there?
The quality of this recording sucks
I believe she is guilty! She tried everything under the sun to get him arrested for child, molestation, and physical abuse, and none of her complaints were found to be truthful. When none of that worked, she shot him and now she has full custody of her daughter, but I don’t think that will last for long when the jury finds her guilty! It’s really sad! But she is a spoiled manipulative person, and saying that she throws tantrums describes her perfectly!
Guilty👍
What happened to listening to the evidence first?
@@priontex4439 I see what you’re saying. So, then, why even have trials. They’re expensive and time consuming. Let’s just let social media decide who goes to prison for life on the basis of whatever information they find convenient.

Honestly, what I wanna know and I wonder if they’ll bring it up in the court if that was His legitimate child he had a vasectomy and yes, they can be reversed, but most the time they’re not successful and reproducing. I mean, it’s just very rare It happens that they can get pregnant right away or if at all after the procedure has taken place. I wonder if it his child?
I just started the trial and am behind, but I’m thinking that insufficient counsel will be her appeal. IMO as of the first witness and pretrial motions I heard b4. Don’t think he cares about his work.
@michgoff yes u are late bc the judge made a point to ask her many questions about is she sure she wants him as her attorney so that she can’t use that in appeal. Apparently he felt the same way too😊
Taylor has already put that into play. Said he can’t function without his paralegal O’Keefe by his side.
What's the point of live court, when us the viewers won't yo see the evidence not the defendant face all the time , I understand sensitive images, but why not show other, we the viewers won't to view the evidence also

Her sad face look is nothing like her at all!!!
On aside for, Eva looks a lot like Amanda Seyfried lol
WHERE ARE THE TEARS, ASHLEY?????????? I don’t know whether to believe her or not anymore. She’s sniffing, but no tears are visible. What’s wrong with this picture?!
She followed Alec Baldwin in writing the entire time the prosecution gave their opening statement, never making eye contact but put her pen down when the defense began. Must be a thing.
She thinks she is a good actress
I love Ashley‘s look and how she’s acting in court. She’s acting like she’s the sad, abused little woman. It’s such a farce lol 😂
