The first time I remember seeing Taylor Hawkins was performing on this song with her. Most of the time drummers don't stand out from the background but he had such a style and presence that made him memorable.
She really does have a powerful voice, she is holding the mic almost 2 feet away and a little low and you can still hear her clearly when the band rocking and shes belting it out. Impressive!
Yeah some singers like Alanis are LOUD! Guitar amp loud. I worked with a guy in a country cover band in the 90's he was amazing how powerful his voice was we were always "calm down dude" the next town is trying to sleep
I saw Alanis on tour back in the day and I thought she was amazing live. Little did I know I was listening to Taylor on drums driving that performance. She still sounds great.
I became a fan of Tyler while he was playing with Alanis. I wish that she would have done at least one more song though. What you don’t see in this video is the long hug shared by Alanis and Dave. Two music Icons sharing the loss of their brother. Pat seemed really thrilled to perform with her. I just love all of them. The whole tribute was amazing! I would love to see the female vocalists cross over into rock more. They did a great job.
Great to see all the positive comments here, since the audio on this doesn't do Alanis justice. I saw her with Garbage in Montreal a few months back and she was absolutely incredible. Her voice is amazing. She rarely talked to the audience, but the connection to them was as powerful as any band/singer.
THIS is why I 80 percent prefer live performances of songs before them on "records". The sheer liveliness and fuck-it-all feelings! She's a natural force!
This is such a great song! Ironically Taylor left her for another band... I saw them play at Elysee Montmartre back in Paris mid 90's. Taylor was freaking awesome.
Alanis is so effing fantastic. I remember feeling like I might jump off the balcony at the Paramount in Seattle at one of her shows. Incredible voice and dynamics. Best of the best. What a cool tribute.
If you were growing up well I was a teenager when the "grunge" era hit, Alanis was as big as any of the bands, everyone jammed Jagged Little Pill, still is a great album it will stand the test of time. I remember seeing Taylor for the first time with the FF and said, that dude was Alanis's drummer bcuz I remembered him in her videos. Man it sucks losing all these greats, starting back with Kurt, to Shannon, then Layne etc. The tributes are great but bittersweet. It's why I cherish bands like Pearl Jam, Alice can still give ya a great show but it's just few and far between from such a great era of music. The Gin Blossoms were just in Kentucky at a festival man I'd love to see them bcuz they're a great band. Oh I could go on and on about that era of music. Thanks for the video ✌️💙
I saw Taylor playing w Alanis at a club gig before the Jagged Little Pill tour. I’m thinking they were doing warm up shows so the band could gel. Both Alanis and Taylor sounded like they were seconds away from spontaneous combustion. Killer show
Alanis at her top for my taste! path is so happy looking at her :) and i got to say After listening to chad smith on everlong and than this one?... its official! Chad Smith is certainly by any definition the best rock drummer in the industry.
Was Taylor Hawkins really that popular and loved outside of Foo Fighters fans and did Foo Fighters fans really care about him that much? Serious question.
@@rjz1313 It is a serious question, because I never heard of him outside of the context as the drummer of Foo Fighters, which I knew was a fairly big band and played Wembley at their peak, but did not know they were this massive overall or that Taylor was considered anything special as a drummer.
Ilove you somuch ❤

same here, couldn’t believe how energetic and tasteful he was.
Yeah....and he'd still be here if he would have controlled his pill popping ways.....He just joined the club....thats all....like many others
The older you get, to more you are able to appreciate a well written song.

Chad is such a ROCK STAR!!!🤩
Alanis....AWESOME AS USUAL!!!!😍🥰🙏
LOVE how all the women are singing every single lyric
She got in a lot of steps during that one, her fitbit must be proud!
Unnecessary comment, those is always a POS making shitty comments.
She’s always does this it’s part of her performance and the way projects the song
Alanis sounds great!!!!!!

When this woman sings I get all tingly inside. She’s amazing!
Pat Smear living his best life. RIP Taylor, long live the Foos!

Been watching a bunch of these tribute videos and never felt like crying till they showed the pic of Alanis and Taylor.
Alanis looks amazing! Sounds amazing too! Chad on the drums hell yeah! Great tribute to Taylor.
Chad on drums here. Flea on Bass on the original recording.
Alanis is still a Cool sexy women, her singing has never changed still powerful.
Pat Smear’s smiles gives me the warm fuzzies. ❤
She looks good! God Bless her for tributing to another legend! RIP Hawkins!

That was incredible! Alanis sounds great! Would’ve been kool if Dave Navarro and Flea played as they played on the studio recording
THIS is why I 80 percent prefer live performances of songs before them on "records". The sheer liveliness and fuck-it-all feelings! She's a natural force!
I still can't believe how many musicians are friends with Taylor. Wow! R.I.P Taylor. Great job musicians with the tribute.
This is such a great song!
Ironically Taylor left her for another band...

Surprised Flea didn't join Chad to play bass on this... It was him on the original recording.
Ohh yeah, you can tell it's Flea on the bass on the original. That psychedelic bouncing, winding bass.
I love that you filmed the photo of her and Taylor at the end. This was awesome! Great job! Thank you! 🤘
I used to watch her on You Can't do that on Television! All Bow to God, she made us all to produce Plastic.

Got chills at 4:13!
Chris Chaney on bass sounds great in this video. Always loved the bass in this song and Smith's drumming fits well.
This song will be legendary, Taylor crushed and help make her album legedary
Pat is the best hugger
Spectacular!
Alanis luce guapisima...
Music can be such a force of good. What a brilliant moment the cross over of his bands.
I saw Taylor playing w Alanis at a club gig before the Jagged Little Pill tour. I’m thinking they were doing warm up shows so the band could gel. Both Alanis and Taylor sounded like they were seconds away from spontaneous combustion. Killer show
“How 'bout stopping eating when I'm full up?”
- Alanis
In the absence of the concert order, just seemed to me they all stepped it up a notch for this.
If all of them did this across the country, they would have sold out shows for sure!! Wish I could have seen this!!
Does anyone hit the drums as hard as Chad? DAYUM
She has one good album, and she's still milking it 30 years later. Good for her!
Alanis at her top for my taste! path is so happy looking at her :) and i got to say After listening to chad smith on everlong and than this one?...
its official!
Chad Smith is certainly by any definition the best rock drummer in the industry.
Should have performed Too Hot To Hold from here real debut when she was just Alanis
The way she walks back and forth on the stage makes me think she is trying to close her movement ring on her Apple Watch.
Chad Smith looks like Pat Smears bro
Kinda weird how she walks backwards to the middle and to each side of the stage nonstop. She always does this. Sounds killer though haha!
She’s always done it like that, no?
it's her stage for this 3 minutes hahaha
*all* the stage
It was giving motion sickness, I had to stop watching at it
Was Taylor Hawkins really that popular and loved outside of Foo Fighters fans and did Foo Fighters fans really care about him that much? Serious question.
Serious question, is it?
Lol... on a vid like this, of a concert so big, with so many involved...
No. He wasn't liked.
@@rjz1313 It is a serious question, because I never heard of him outside of the context as the drummer of Foo Fighters, which I knew was a fairly big band and played Wembley at their peak, but did not know they were this massive overall or that Taylor was considered anything special as a drummer.
did she say anything PRior to singing? about Taylor ?
Did they only let people film if they were sitting behind the stage?
The videos sure make it seem that way, no?
The world needs a really pissed off Alanis again…..
1:43. Lol. Thanks for screaming out the "f**k her!!!" part
Yeah, I hate the radio friendly version.
She’s pregnant?
those damn cross-eyed bears!
Pipes
Is she pregnant?or are those unflattering clothes? She's been skinny as a rail forever, last year on Colbert, she looked skinny as usual
It's a shame her new music is terrible. LA lifestyle has killed her sound. Move back to Canada and get kicking arse again.
She's not 25 anymore, sadly those days are gone forever never to return.
Is she expecting, or is she just huge?
She looks like she sells cookies outside a WaWa
alanis... jenny craig please !
alanis needs to lay off the twinkies
You outta go on a diet
She did a great job. Too bad Flea wasn't there playing the bass.
