    I live in Quebec, Canada, where the December/January freezing temperatures average 15 degrees Celsius below zero. With a lead-acid battery I can leave the battery in the motorcycle for the 6 months of winter and connect-it to my intelligent lead-acid charger with the dongle all winter long. Can I do this with an Antigravity RE-START Lithium battery or do I need to remove the battery and bring it inside the house where it is warmer for these months and charge-it there?

    • @HJZ75driver

      With lithium, doesnt need to be left on the charger over winter. To start it during winter, turn your headlights on for 30secs, then hit the key. warms the battery up. Which lets it start quicker

    Why won’t the battery recharge? The bike master charger just shows a green power light … no charging red and no green fully charged….

      The Antigravity Battery will work fine in Climates like Arizona and we do tons of Track Days here in Califonia where the temps are in the 105s, but on the track its even hotter. As an FYI extreme heat can effect all batteries, but with that being said, Lithium is quite a bit more resilient to high heat than Lead/Acid.

      As for the blower, if you have a bolt-on blower kit like a Magnuson, Paxton, Whipple ETC, in terms of cranking power, you'll have plenty of power to fire up your ponycar. Heck, we're pretty sure you'd be okay, even running a 3.1L blower.

    If I’m replacing a lead acid battery with a lithium does the previous lead acid charging system in my vehicle still work?

    • @AntigravityBatteries
      @AntigravityBatteries  2 года назад +1

      Absolutely YES, but with the caveat that if you have a Pre 1990s vehicle make sure the Charging system is in good working order. The reason is because Pre-1990 many charging system voltage regulators were mechanical on most bikes and they can go bad and allow for high voltage and spike over-voltage to the battery. So check for that if you have an very old bike... the 90s bikes are over 30 years old now, and those voltage regulators went bad. Nowadays it solid state voltage regulator that rarely go bad, so you good with any modern bike.

    So an old dumb buzz box type charger would be ok. But not a modern smart charger for lead. Right?

    • @AntigravityBatteries
      @AntigravityBatteries  2 года назад

      Well not entirely... you should use a modern Lithium Stand alone Charger, when using a charger. A stand alone Lithium Charger does not charge like a stand alone lead/acid charger, so the modern lead acid chargers have a de-sulfate mode that spikes voltage to clean sulfation the lead plates.. but Lithium does not sulfate so putting a lead acid charger on the Lithium isn't good. But in the bikes it works fine since bikes don't have a "sulfation" mode when charging...

    I'm assuming that this battery uses a built in super capacitor to jump start itself. Am i wrong?

    • @Conservator.
      @Conservator. 2 года назад

      Lithium batteries don’t need super capacitors to produce very high amps. Especially LiFePO4 (LFP) batteries have very high specific power.
      Some special built Li-ion batteries can go even higher but they have a much shorter life cycle. Have a look at those tiny jump starters for example.

    at 11:08... you say to remotely wake up the battery for restart feature to work, just attach a 12 volt source to it for a second. Now just think about what you said........ Really?? So I buy a battery that has a restart feature, but if I can't get to the battery I need a 12 volt source to put it in re-start mode. Well now,.... if that is the case, doesn't that make the purchase of this battery a big waste of money? If I need another 12 volt source, at that point I might as well just jump start it like a regular battery. Isn't the purpose of this battery NOT to need another 12 volt source to get you going again? So the guy who is in middle of nowhere can't restart his bike, car ATV, whatever if he is by himself. Hmmm, someone at Antigravity and Powersports has a case of Corporate stupidity. Design a damm key fob for it, as this method is beyond stupid that you recommend. You had a key fob , but had issues with it, and this was the engineer's answer?!? Time to get a new engineer.

    • @jaimeledo7382
      @jaimeledo7382 4 года назад +1

      I totally agreed with you! I will bet the current engineer(s) has never ridden a motorcycle. How about including a Blue Tooth Connection to our cell phones with a Re-Start App. Another complementary option, would be to add this Blue Tooth option to their current “Antigravity Battery Tracker” that already connects to our phones! I am afraid they need to throw away their cubicles and purchase a Brainstorming Round Table. If all of this is too complicated, how about just a 1930’s hardwire remote switch…..Oops, the power of common sense !!
      Jaime Ledo

    • @AntigravityBatteries
      @AntigravityBatteries  4 года назад +5

      Its not a perfect solution, but for most they are loving the RE-START and understand what the limitations are. So you may have to think of a way to access the battery, or bring a tool if your riding a bike with difficult battery access. Like a Ducati Monster the battery is under the tank. In fact many people have made creative ways to get the 12v source to the battery, like with using some Triple A batteries. But there is much more to consider here, like the cost of the battery also. Yes we can put more bells and whistles on it but at a cost that would have most people not even looking at the products. So there is a trade off. I can assure you we do not suffer from Corporate stupidity... we have WIRELESS jump starting on the Lithium Auto Batteries we make, but that technology would cause the Motorcycle batteries to get way to expensive.

    • @AntigravityBatteries
      @AntigravityBatteries  4 года назад +4

      @@jaimeledo7382 you would be betting wrong Jaime, the designer has 9 vehicles and might ride pretty fast... and have an MX track at their house.... As far as assuming there are cubicles and stupid people. It doesn't really work like that. Its a cost of developing and making a product. I don't think you know that our Automotive Lithium Battery has WIRELESS built in jump starting which is awesome, but it won't fit in the Bike Batteries yet, and its too costly. Now on Bluetooth.... we have you covered, that several months out, but here already, but in testing... But again its the cost of the battery will also go up. So we aren't sitting here twiddling thumbs, we are well ahead of the pack and have all the ideas in place....but we have to choose our products to develop, and then make them affordable enough... it cost more than you know to do this. Anyway we have quite a few cool products on the way.. but we can't do it all at once.

    • @Prelude_Si
      @Prelude_Si 4 года назад +8

      Honestly, I don't get all the fuss about not being able to reach the Restart button... In my book, that button is just a bonus feature. The most important part is the OVER-DISCHARGE cutoff and battery saving enough juice for emergency situations. At least I know my battery isn't going to die if I accidentally leave the lights on, and I have a way of jump-starting the damn thing all on my own and without any additional power source. So what if I have to take off a couple of parts...
      On the flipside, with a conventional battery you still have to get to the battery AND you also need an additional power source to jump-start it. So if you don't have a jump pack or a buddy to jump you, tough luck, call a towing service. Am I right or am I right?
      So these batteries are still worth every penny if you ask me. Let's not forget that they are still among the lightest, if not THE lighest, and that that's why the rock!It's easy to talk about adding extra features, but when it comes to dishing out some extra cash for them, then everyone's crying about the price.
      I guess you can't make everybody happy. But nonetheless, great work and great products, Antigravity Batteries. Keep it up.

      Guys, I am glad to have ruffled some feathers. I offered some ideas of how to circumvent the current issue about accessing that pesky restart button on the battery. Keep in mind of those cold and rainy days while you are stranded in the dark. Would it not be convenient to have the reset button on a 12" long wire with a stick my back that can be placed at a hidden but accessible location on the bike?. Of course, adding the restart option to your Blue tooth battery monitoring device will not only help your battery products sales, it certainly self promote purchasing both products as a set.
      I can certainly appreciate the passions, but ease of use and practicality can not be ignored....
