I bought most of skils 12v line 2 years ago. No complaints!

Nice, what is your favorite tool in their line?

@@zacksintheshop impact driver I use the most but I have to tell you, I love the flashlight. I keep it next to desk and use for computer repair and to check backyard for critters before letting boxer out at night, lol. I also use multi cutter tool. Like electric scissors. I have large pythons and boas. I use to cut cage liners to size. Really makes short work of a tiring job.

You did great. Skil feels better in your hand unless you have big hands. The price is a lot different if you buy the skil through Amazon. Impact and drill with 2 batteries is around 100.00 . The same fuel setup at home depot is 230.00

Thanks for the pricing info. I know the Fuel stuff is on sale quite a bit, but I do seem to recall the set was 229 if it wasn't on sale.

I have bigger hands and the Skil still has great hand feel, love these tools so far, waiting for a stapler release

Good video Zack. I would like to see you test the updated Skil 12v 1/4" impact driver. It's a little more compact and a little more powerful. Round 2?

Bought that same kit! actually very impressed with the quality for the price. Multi tool alone could easily sell for 100$ as a kit.

    • @zacksintheshop
      @zacksintheshop  2 года назад +2

I agree, I really like the multi tool. The kit was a good deal. I am going to pick up some more 12 volt stuff like Bosch or Hercules to compare to Skil in the future.

Good test. I got Skil battery, so I probably buy the Skil one, as the difference wasn't that much for my DIY hobbies.

Skil 12 volt has a great oscillating tool as well. Its my favorite.

Good video I've currently got both but I like the skil more and reach for it 90 percent of the time. But it does feel cheaper than the milwaukee so who knows how long it will last

One thing that very few people mention in reviews is how good the trigger and speed control is for delicate work. Power is nice but if I am going to drive a lot of big lags I am probably not going to pick a 12v tool. How do they do installing something like a door strike plate?

Good point. Will try to factor that in next time.

Awesome Video! Thank you for this. I almost bought the skil set because it was cheaper than the Milwaukee set.
Milwaukee just better all around except for light. Thank you!
Now to go buy my Milwaukee set!

Well of course. They're for different people and completely different class of tools. Milwaukee is like a Porsche, the skil is a ford taurus

My thoughts are.... And I'll qualify this by admitting that I'm already on both Milwaukee platforms, and I couldn't be happier with the performance of those tools. I do use them to the limit of their application, proper tool, proper job, with my job as a heavy duty body repair man. I can't however ignore SKIL stepping up. They sure seem better than my old RYOBI stuff, and I mean comparing my old brushed 18v stuff to even the 12v brushless SKIL line. All out power of my 18v brushed Ryobi hex driver does exceed my M12 FUEL hex driver, but the M12 wins in the speed department and it's not even close...at least 500 RPM's over the RYOBI stuff. And the weight is a huge factor.

God bless you brutha! I live in canada and cant find these anywhere. Would you say that the impact is smallish compared to dewalt 850 impact? Looking to get a compact lighter setup alongside my 20v and 36v tools

Skil made a new 12v impact driver which is very comparable to the Milwaukee. Puts out 1500lbs instead of 1100lbs like the one in this video

You said the price wasnt a difference. It is when you still have to waste another 150 for the battery&charger. At the end of the day the skil buyer will spend less for the same result in getting the job done. This whole pro vs prosumer. In the hands of a pro a stick is a pro stick.

the new gen 2 skil will give the gen 2 milwaukee all it can handle at 1/3 of the price

Why this video cut up so much why didn't you show the Milwaukee and skil closer you pre-drilled those wholes for the Milwaukee to make it look better than the skil. I have both Milwaukee and skil tools I use daily the Milwaukee tools are no may Better in the real world use

The test was done fairly, the results were true.
