The Best Emergency Stop ✋🏽 Brake before Clutch
HTML-код
- Опубликовано: 15 июл 2022
- In an emergency situation always react quickly by braking firm and then put the clutch down. Do not look behind, signal or swerve.
Keep both hands firmly on the wheel and try to stop as quickly as possible. After the emergency stop secure the car, before moving off always look all around from blindspot to blindspot. Consider wether you may need a signal before moving off
You can fail for the emergency stop if you brake too lightly and take too long to stop.
Or if you do not check your blindspots before moving off.

You should be wearing your seatbelt at all times when in your car.
If I have a passenger who refuses to wear a seatbelt I won't drive. They can walk or get a taxi if they don't like me refusing to risk my life and theirs.

By the time she checks all the blind spots and moves off, the blind spots she first checked could be occupied. That chore is hilariously ineffective.
It's better than not checking it at all. Do you look left and right when you cross the road?
@@avoidglass Keep an eye on the mirror and ahead of you unless there's a junction where you stopped. Anything hanging in your blind stop will have passed you while you're stoppwd unless they are messing with you

Because you would never need to stop in an emergency
My dad's driving instructor told him to do this in the middle of a snow storm. My dad told him he was crazy and kept driving.
... so he'd just continue driving and plow into whatever hazard he'd normally emergency stop for?
I don't know what driving test standards were like back then but you would get failed if you did that now lmao

Shaking her head like "Trainer you have to see me looking around" else no points
I did my emergency stop exactly the same and I thought oh no that was a bit harsh I nearly broke the brakes I thought
Break the brakes. What an idiot.
Yeah emergency stops should be as harsh as possible, that's the way to do it.
If a kid runs into the road I'm not going to look if it's safe to stop. I'm hitting the breaks.
Imagine she practices this so much that a future passenger in her car says stop and she slams the brakes on the highway!

Had to do an emergency stop up the steepest hill in the area during my test. This obviously forced a steep hill start after. I recon he saved that route for when he's having a bad day
In reality, driving tests are never done in this way. They ask you to stop at least 5-10 seconds before. It’s not that they suddenly say stop😂
No no mine did lmao 😂. Homeboy randomly said stop and I did just that. His whole phone and clipboard went into the floorboard 😅
Mine did it like this too.
It's an emergency break stop... 💀
Right, because in real life when a kid leaps in front of your car you get a 10 second warning.

Imagine someone actually looking behind them like that before driving off in the real world
She said stop because the student forgets to check and see if there are any incoming Kamikazes.
Ahhh yes, she makes a mistake but she is still doing bad things "perfectly"
Your videos are really helpful!
The instructor nearly killed herself with one command
How to get rear-ended 101
That’s not the point of the emergency stop. Are you dumb or something. This is to practice for if a pedestrian jumps out in front of the car, or for literally any other situation that would require you to immediately stop your car.
@@p01ygon Are you dumb or something? Let me know how well that stop goes after you lurch forward another 10 feet, still hitting the pedestrian on top of an accident. Stop like that in front of me at 140,000lbs and you'll get dragged another 20ft easily.
Its called know how to fucking drive, never in my career have I EVER needed to do something like this and i've been in many bad situations.
i loved that on my lesson, was on a country road pulled up and he wanted to have a go at emergency stop, nearly drag raced the car down this country lane then after a few seconds at 60 he yelled stop and damn did we stop, slight slide but all good, he was surprised at how well it went and i turn to him and say do u need to put ur teeth back in lol

First soft brake than clutch, than the Hard brake. Excellent!

Idk why this is recommended to me but the instructor is beautiful.
They would never ask you to do an emergency stop like this in Canada, we’re supposed to pullover turn on our 4 ways and put on the emergency break. This just feels like a great way to get whiplash 😅
Right? Phew I thought the emergency stop was different all this while. Thanks!
And damage your vehicle lol same here in New Zealand, it seems a little ridiculous.
Realistically how u do it doesn’t matter as long as u stop the car in time
so the main point is how you can stop the car in time?
It matters. You may stop the car in time but forget to check your blind spot and end up hitting the person you braked to avoid. You may stop in time but roll forward. You may put the clutch down too soon which can lead you to having to break much harder. You might stall and end up jerking forward and hitting the hazard after you've stopped. You can swerve and cause an accident if you fail to brace the steering wheel. Plenty of things can go wrong if you don't do it correctly.
Man her reaction times on point 👌
That's my student she already pass the driving test last day. I'm very proud of her
If she say "stop" use the handbrake and just apreciate how shes gone trought the window like an angel 😊 if you love something you have to leave fly like a eagle

DMV instructors are funny jokes
LOL This reminds me of my old riding lessons. Instructor would call out a secret word and we would all hit the ground mid-stride. The horses learned the words though, and would slam on the brakes before you could dismount, so the instructor had to constantly switch the word up. 🤣
That's a fine ass instructor 👀
That smile ❤
Thing about the driving test is you just need to make it look like you check your blind spots. Aint no way in real life something will just materialise out of nowhere unless you have the object permanence of a gold fish.
I don’t even use my mirrors when I drive anymore tbh.
I failed a test for failing to look for suicidal pedestrians behind me. Screw these tests lol.
The way she looks around at the end, like she's reading it from a manual

Does doing this damage the clutch thingy? Atleast overtime?
If she doesn't put down the clutch before stopping, it stalls the engine. Stalling prevents damage to the engine but doing it too much might be bad, I don't know
@@boradagdelen3846 ideally you don't want to stall but better to stall than ploughing into someone.
Short answer is no.
You press down on the brake pedal firmly followed by the clutch pedal. Practice makes perfect if you struggle with the timing.
No. The clutch only wears as you engage it and the two plates ‘slip’ together at different speeds. Disengaging it, which you do to stop, causes no wear at all
If i did that in my car all the trim would fall off 😭. Also it looked like she was about to fly into the dash lol.
The stop was so good the phone flew out of my hand.
Funny because none of us even think about any of the lessons after we pass 🤣🤣
I’m glad I didn’t have to do this it would have pissed me off.
checking behind to go forward is the dumbest thing to demand a student.
Not really, because in the real world of driving, anything can happen.
Someone could come running up, riding up, etc and you could hit them.
@@Gloomyraindrop Then the guy behind is at fault not her, you should always leave a bid gap between cars just in case of emergency brakes.

Congrats to the learner and Wicked stop! The thing is with abs the whole, quick and steady pressure goes out the window. You can just stomp on your brakes like this and let the car sort it out, if your brave enough to get on brakes that hard. The only issue is if driving on ice and snow then abs is useless and stomping like that will make matters worse. My instructor got me to do a regular emergency stop like this, then once I'd got it perfect, made me practice threshold braking as it is a very useful skill. Cool short video as always, like all the content on the channel.
