Hi, I've just passed my test in Hyde, in no small part to these videos. I've been binge watching them non-stop. My advice to people going for the test is don't worry about things like: being exactly 30mph in a 30 zone, when doing a parallel park, don't worry about being perfectly x cm from the curb. Just make sure watch you're doing is safe! Thanks Pin for the great videos and making me a more confident and safe driver.

@@XtrosGaming they are driving faults, like forgetting to check ur mirrors or forgetting a signal. You can’t fail because of these mistake as they are “minors” not “majors”. However if you keep making the same minor mistake or you collect up to 15 minors you will fail your test
@@BIG2hats Yes! once he gets taught the common sense bits his last instructor lacked he'll only be a couple lessons away - driving like a robot is dangerous, if he knew the reason why he was checking mirrors he wouldn't be doing blind spot checks at a traffic light🤣
What I find absolutely fascinating is that no one honks when they stall out/impede traffic! Is that because the car has an "L" on it? Or do people here generally not honk, assuming others have stalled out? Where we are, if you stall out, I doubt anyone would feel sorry for you and you'd be honked at immediately (but hardly anyone drives manual so they'd probably not even know you'd stalled).
In driving for me soon as I mess up once or the teacher has to take the wheel once it just shakes me up for the remainder of the lesson and my confidence drops and with it my attention. I'll get there one day
You explain everything so well, and watching this footage back for the young lad would have been extremely helpful for him, because from the sound of it his instructor hasn’t practised with him rigorously enough on the things he isn’t as good at. He is obviously not a terrible driver, there are just things in which he needed to gain more confidence.
His first serious error is one I saw a few people make when I was leaving the centre on my second driving test. There was a lorry parked on the opposite side of the road which gave the same priority you spoke about at the start of the video and I saw the 2 people in front of me instantly fail when trying to make left turns. Its a good example of why videos like this are useful as you'd get a sense of what can really screw you on a test and to be aware of the standard required to pass. Thankfully I passed the second time!
I think he’s got comfortable driving the same area on his lessons and he knows what to expect I think his instructor should take him some other places to.
Thanks for posting this, and greetings from Florida USA! The UK driving test looks much more difficult than one in the US. And I've only seen driving test vehicles with automatic transmissions. The camera showing the driver's foot positioning is awesome. And to top it all off, both the instructor and especially Lemar, are so handsome!
Ive recommended these to every one i know who is learning. Ive picked up on so much of my own faults by watching others drive and how to correct them. Thank you for the videos.
Passed my test with 1 minor on friday, watched these videos religiously, massive help. Now I can watch in peace without the anxiety building up about my test xD
Very surprised his instructor told him he's ready. I think some people think that as long as they can control the car then they can drive but having that awareness of road markings, signals, judging situations and other drivers is so important and takes much more time to develop. Also I think people dont really realize that on lessons you always have your instructor to help you out but people misjudge how much help they give when it comes to driving completely independently. Pin gave some excellent advice and he was so nice about it too! Hope he gets in a bit more practice and aces his test
during the test some people might be nervous therefore make even silly mistakes. Also the fact that he's driving another car that he isn't used to it is another factor, if you don't have much control of the car automatically the road awareness drastically reduce since you are focusing on maintaining control of the vehicle. So if his instructor told him that he's ready, it means that he's technically ready.
@@masterbowler1630 obviously a lot of assumption is going into our opinions here, I understand a 20min cropped video is no true representation of his driving abilities and we know nothing of his instructor. Im still learning, and Ive had 2 different instructors due to poor availability and moving and Ive driven 3 different cars so I understand if he's going to have some trouble in maintaining control of a different car but once you pass your test, its not like you are going to be driving your instructors car so it does show some level of mastery to be able to overcome the quirks of driving a different car. Its the fact that he's not able to understand why he is going wrong is the main reason I think he isnt ready for his test. He had a fair few serious faults, and while he may be worrying about controlling the car and forgetting, there are 3 clear instances where he made poor decisions that could have very easily lead to a crash had Pin not intervened. I just think this learner really needs to be realistic on his knowledge gaps and accept the fact that its possible his instructor could be wrong. My new instructor has had to start fresh with me after my old instructor had told me I was ready for my test when I didnt know I that I wasn't. Now Im very comfortable driving independently thanks to my new instructor giving me more rigorous training and pointing out mistakes my old instructor taught me. Its one thing to be able to drive well and another to pass a test. Considering the bad drivers we have on the roads these days, its important to be overprepared rather than passing by the skin of your teeth.
Yeah I was guilty of that myself. Could drive just fine but I had to ask another instructor for a couple more lessons to teach me to pass the test - he did just that and passed second time. 11 years no points though!
Tbf yes he said his instructor said he was ready, but he also said his instructor told him to check his blind spots at traffic lights. So he could clearly do with a better instructor cos his one wasn’t very good
I passed my drivers license test earlier today and watching these kinds of videos every day was very helpful! I was nervous before doing it but when doing it, I honestly forgot there was an instructor in the car with me!
Hope he keeps going. Its small errors that have a big impact as my driving instructor used to tell me. He just needs to weed them out and he's not as far away as he thinks.
I hope Lamar will not let this stear his confidence. Great video! Just one idea. Could you make video where you are driving perfectly. You already have 2 of these with instructor and alone, but could you make one when trafic is high, there are croud on tight streets and many obsticles... I'm interested how to react in those situations, defansive driving in worst situations :)
The patience he has is insane! Not only is he instructing him how to drive, but also having to make sure they are both safe at all times with a beginner driver behind the wheel… I have so much respect for that
I watched you a long while ago , a day before my test i watched you , I implemented them in the test the day after and passed , this guy knows what he’s doing take note people
Hi,today I have passed my practical test on first attempt with one minor 😊 Thank you so much for your videos as they have been very helpful on my driving journey.I will keep watching your videos to be a better driver.
Just to say Pin, these videos are great to watch, even if you're in the "passed but still watching" club like myself - as any good instructor tells you, passing is only the start, the real learning takes place once you're out on your own - it's always a good idea to keep your knowledge sharp! 400k subs, killing it ma man!
It took me a while to get my drivers license . And now that i have my own car I can say getting the license is only the start. Going out on your own making mistakes, and trying to improve is the real learning experience.
I passed my driving test some months back and received my license in the mail a few weeks ago. I posted a video thanking Pin because he’s on of the tools that helped me to pass during covid under a year !
Respect to UK drivers. In America the roads are so much less complicated than yours, also almost everyone I know drives an Automatic, not this complicated stuff you guys seem to be doing in this driving school
I'm learning manual and it really does seem more complicated than necessary lol but worth learning ig Only had 4 lessons, I've not done too well with moving off quickly and lifting the clutch to the biting point instead of higher too fast
I definitely think the “slowing down others vehicles” is a hard one as you never know who that other driver is and perhaps them slowing down wasn’t at all necessary but they did anyway for whatever reason. This may seem a little far fetched but then again after almost a year on the road now, I’ve noticed a lot of drivers are pretty ridiculous and to put it blunt, their arseholes - my point is, I wouldn’t put it past some of these types to purposely brake hard near a learner car simply to be, an arsehole. While it’s done now already, I don’t think the first serious should have been given. The driver did slow down but it seemed like he gave plenty of room and the vehicles got through the space easily.
The examiner will judge from experience whether you make another driver slow down or stop. In the initial incident we are emerging from a closed junction. On test you should be very cautious with the first couple of junctions. A stop and start would be so easy in an unfamiliar car as Lamar has been given. Experienced drivers will spot parked cars on a main road pushing cars into occupying a central road position and stop on an emerge. Swinging out at this point is going to be a serious fault.
@@keith6400 of course, it’s very/most likely you did cause a car to slow down or stop which an examiner will 99% of the time notice, however there is definitely a chance some people - (for example) an inexperienced new driver, they may slow down when not at all necessary resulting in a serious fault for a learner. I agree, as it’s non negotiable, he should have given way to the cars on the main road - however I think in doing so he kept good distance and didn’t affect traffic anymore than parked cars would have anyway. I tend to slow down past parked cars as people seem to love stepping out in front of me from behind parked cars. If it was me on the main road, I would have slowed slightly either way which would have resulted in a learner receiving a serious. I just think sometimes it really needs to be thought about with all things considered.
@@KGEE-WeTheGees My point is the examiner will judge this using experience. Not only do they have a long experience of driving but also knowledge of routes. In a meeting situation where a car is parked on the left and you should give way to the oncoming traffic. If you approach at a restrained speed and plan to stop and are demonstrating this, whereas the oncoming vehicle stops anyway, it will be deemed that you did not force the other driver to stop and you should continue. Whereas if you are at the full 30 mph and show no intention of slowing or stopping you will likely get a serious fault awarded while the other guy has to stop. The examiner will also consider whether the driver you force to slow down only needed to slow slightly or if they needed harsh braking to avoid a collision. A minor fault might be awarded and then two or three more similar incidents will escalate into a serious fault.
Thank you so much for your videos! I passed my driving test 17 years ago in Poland, then I immediately moved to UK and never drove since. This year I finally bought a car and I thought I can come back to driving without any problems but oh I was wrong... because I learned driving on the other side of the road, here in UK turning right is so confusing for me! And the roundabouts are my biggest nightmare, so watching your videos is so helpful, thank you so so so much for it. I realy appreciate it xxx

Honest to god I respect driving instructors! My sister passed her test and she went out with me and I literally was on the ball the entire time, it’s VERY VERY stressful especially when you know what they are about to do
for the first serious one, i would make the same judgement as pin does. never merge out when uncertain whether the hard front end would swing out and cause oncoming traffic to slow down

15:30 - a perfect example of how ridiculous driving tests are. They won't let you park on the curb when it is perfectly legal to do so outside of London, and evidently allows traffic to flow freely. Instead the learner has positioned in such a way under instructors orders that means they are blocking traffic from moving freely.
@ZyklonBeezy yeah, a lot of our homes are road side with no drive ways. So if you can't park on your side of the street you'll need to park opposite. Our little islands infrastructure is too old for cars. But unfortunately we rely on it.
@ZyklonBeezy LMFAO im from Pakistan and its acceptable to park on a wider road not in a street like the video which completely blocks the upcoming vehicles

He seems super nervous, I passed my test 2 weeks ago on all my lessons I was perfect but as soon as my test started the nerve started kicking in, I stalled the car twice but recovered quick and passed with no minors
I passed a month ago, basically learned from all of your videos, passed with two minors, a stall and a reverse bay parking, wasn't quite in the lines, still watching your videos as I'm always learning. Question why do you always scratch your ear?
I haven't fully finished my driving test, but I am on the right track to completion. If you are Vietnamese and live in Vietnam, odds are you must drive 810 km for a B2 driver's license. It's a real confidence booster and allows you to make and fix mistakes on the go. Seeing this man driving reminds me of how I used to sweat on my hands constantly. But knowing a right driver instructor can make a difference between a nervous, unstable driver and a confident driver
Also, when you have difficulty driving uphills, here's a method that guarantees driving upwards without stalling. Pressing both the clutch and the brake pedal, open the clutch by 1/2, and if you hear vibrations in the engine, remove the brake pedal and accelerate by a tinge to make sure the car is moving upwards the hill.
Passed my driving test just yesterday with only 3 minors on my first go (despite the weather...), which I know for sure ur vids have helped alot with that, now can watch these for entertainment and not stress 😅

Officially passed first time today with only 2 minors. I was so nervous and anxious, I ended up in A&E yesterday and passed out. @@XtrosGaming they are driving faults, like forgetting to check ur mirrors or forgetting a signal. You can’t fail because of these mistake as they are “minors” not “majors”. However if you keep making the same minor mistake or you collect up to 15 minors you will fail your test

Lamar’s instructor said he was ready? That’s insane. He needs another 10 lessons as a minimum
😂😂
If he just watches these videos he’ll only need another 3 lessons to iron out these issues

During the test, things felt harsh. Reviewing all the serious faults at the end however, was really professional and clear. Hats off to you both
You explain everything so well, and watching this footage back for the young lad would have been extremely helpful for him, because from the sound of it his instructor hasn’t practised with him rigorously enough on the things he isn’t as good at. He is obviously not a terrible driver, there are just things in which he needed to gain more confidence.
This is your last warning, you WILL get ratiod
His first serious error is one I saw a few people make when I was leaving the centre on my second driving test. There was a lorry parked on the opposite side of the road which gave the same priority you spoke about at the start of the video and I saw the 2 people in front of me instantly fail when trying to make left turns. Its a good example of why videos like this are useful as you'd get a sense of what can really screw you on a test and to be aware of the standard required to pass. Thankfully I passed the second time!
I think he’s got comfortable driving the same area on his lessons and he knows what to expect I think his instructor should take him some other places to.
You’re lowkey right the rock
I agree with you 100%
I passed my driving test five days ago, watching these videos made me feel more confident in my abilities, thank you. :D
Passed my driving test 10 years ago. I still watch your videos for no reason at all. It's quite entertaining ngl.
I live in the US and have been driving for years 😂 stumbled across these videos by accident and have been binge watching them like crazy!
So he could clearly do with a better instructor cos his one wasn’t very good
Genuinely frustrating watching him blind spot check everything 😂

Just to say Pin, these videos are great to watch, even if you're in the "passed but still watching" club like myself - as any good instructor tells you, passing is only the start, the real learning takes place once you're out on your own - it's always a good idea to keep your knowledge sharp! 400k subs, killing it ma man!
It took me a while to get my drivers license . And now that i have my own car I can say getting the license is only the start. Going out on your own making mistakes, and trying to improve is the real learning experience.

Respect to UK drivers. In America the roads are so much less complicated than yours, also almost everyone I know drives an Automatic, not this complicated stuff you guys seem to be doing in this driving school
This isn't complicated, this is just a real, good standard of driving.
I mean most cars in America are automatic but manual isn't unheard of over there
I'm learning manual and it really does seem more complicated than necessary lol but worth learning ig
Only had 4 lessons, I've not done too well with moving off quickly and lifting the clutch to the biting point instead of higher too fast
@@Blurro You got it bro. Everything takes a little learning, keep it up and you’ll be shifting sticks in no time
I definitely think the “slowing down others vehicles” is a hard one as you never know who that other driver is and perhaps them slowing down wasn’t at all necessary but they did anyway for whatever reason.
A minor fault might be awarded and then two or three more similar incidents will escalate into a serious fault.
it seemed harsh, but it wouldve been better to wait in that scenario
It's pretty simple, the other driver had priority and he shouldn't have pulled out.
