When i was in boot camp, we used a clothes iron to straighten our hair as well. I use to hate doing my hair and just started trying to be adventurous and you have helped me so much. Patience i am learning lol. But you are an excellent teacher and I can relate with your personality so much. Thank you for what you do.

Haven't been on here for a minute, but glad to be back :) All these styles are super cute and look like they're much easier to accomplish for those of us with mobility/dexterity/muscular challenges. What I'm wondering is, especially for the topsy turvy ones, how easy or difficult is it to undo these? If you don't already have a video for that, would you mind doing one?

This cracked me up! I used to iron my hair with the clothes iron too! I accidently burned my sister's head one time b/c I hit the steam burst button on the iron while it was next to her scalp! I still feel bad! And yes, VS Love Spell was the fragrance to wear!

Yep the very first time I wore straight hair cuz I have natural loose curls so I was dying to have straight hair and my friend was living with us and she used our iron to straighten her hair everyday and she wanted to try itbin my hair cuz my hair is long and I said heck ya and I laid my head down on the ironing board and she ironed my hair and we went out and I got hit on like crazy!!! Def loved it! B
I never ironed my hair but I can remember my first ever pair of straighteners took about half an hour to fully heat up so switching them on was the first thing I did when I got out of bed in a morning before school lol
😂😂that’s hilarious! Straighteners back then just weren’t the same as today’s! I had one that always tugged on my hair and made my hair so frizzy!

Great video. I love the last one (the messy bun--so cute on you!). Can I ask what hair elastics you use/prefer? I can't find any that are stretchy enough for longer hair, but not so stretchy they don't hold the hair. (Does that even make sense?). :)

I like #5 the best, but they all look beautiful. And now that you told us about meta grip(?) bobby pins I'm going to get some from Sally's. Sometimes I have little pieces sticking out and try to fix them with a topsy tail, and it doesn't work. I'd love to see more half up hairstyles that use topsy tails. You've done some good ones, but you can never have too many. I love watching your videos.

The fried, straighted hair was SO me! It really did smell like burnt hair! Luckily I still have good hair now and hardly ever put heat on it-mostly because ain’t nobody have time for that! 🤣🤷♀️

@@LaineyMarieBeauty honestly I think I started doing it because the really straight hair was starting to get popular. I tried it because my mom said a clothes iron was the only way to straighten hair when she was younger. I’m not sure my mom was happy I did it but 🤷🏼♀️ oh well 😂 it didn’t last long. I realized how bad it was for my hair pretty quickly! 😂

Are all these suitable for thick hair? My hair never seems to like Bobby pins! May be it’s the way I use them? With my hair being so thick nothing seems to hold very well.. I would love to be able to do these styles! Any advice would be much appreciated! Thank you!
This was a tip from Lainey herself I believe. I bought Bobby pins from Sally’s. They’re called MetroGrip Premium Bob Pins. There are 2 sides to a Bobby pin - the flat side and the curly side as I call it. We have a tendency to put the flat side into our hair against the scalp. It should be the other way around. The little grippers will really hold. I have thick hair and down past bra line and they do hold when used that way. I have to be patient taking them out.
@@xiomaras95 yes! Thank you! Agreed! It could be how you’re using the Bobby pins or the Bobby pins themselves. Even the thickest hair should be able to handle Bobby pins! Metagrip are my favorite. You’ll have to go to a Sally’s to pick these up. They make normal sized ones or larger ones for those with a lot of hair! They’re the best!

I started straightening my hair with a clothes iron and my hair has always been waist length I would get up 2 hours before school just to make sure every single hair was bone straight….
