these are rough to watch, but the sportsmanship from both sides is something you like to see. everyone knows it's generally an accident when stuff like this happens, so for all the concern to be directed at the injured player rather than anger at the guy who hit him is heartening
I remember playing baseball in Highschool and I took a ball that was hit to the face at shortstop. I remember hearing the ball get it and then the next thing I remember is waking up on the ground surrounded by my team mates staff and a police officer who was watching the game. I was knocked out cold for about 8-10 minutes. Stopped my baseball career in its tracks from that one event.
Same in high school cricket, turned my head and it hit me in the base of my skull. I don't remember it but I was apparently on my feet saying I was fine but everyone knew I wasn't. I remember being in the hospital asking why I was there.
Shawn Afshar the catcher's jobs consists of: running the game, protecting the pitcher, and making sure the fielders are set in their defensive alignments
Edwin Donoho Yeah but can you blame Donaldson? 85 mph ball to the head. I'd be pretty annoyed as well. But he could've done better with his reaction with the trainee trying to give him that towel.
Brayden Vanderlaan you answered your own question! It's okay to be annoyed and or frustrated but it's not okay to be rude, especially to someone who is trying to help you.

my story isn’t a headshot but it sure was one of the scariest moments in my life. long story short my (BEST) friend was playing second and had a reallyyy bad collision with the center fielder. her head flunked back and jerked everywhere and her arms “flew” everywhere. i was 12-13 at the time and was playing first. i just remember seeing my *best* friend lying there on the ground looking up at the sky motionless. usually when something like that happens no one is supposed to go over to them except the ump and coaches but i ended up all the way in center lmao. i was speechless and having a panic attack and bawling my eyes out cause i thought she snapped her neck. eventually the coaches got her up and she could walk (after the ump did a few vision tests on her) and brought her to the dugout. i know it probably doesn’t sound that serious but i was really shaken up seeing one of the most important people in my life lying there not moving. if you made it this far, ty you’re a skinny legend, and sorry for spelling errors i’m too lazy to check.
Eddie Kaspbrak my moms friend had a collision with a out fielder and ofc they’re both really aggressive. So when they collided, the out fielder (I don’t know what position she played, my mom forgot) but she had brain trauma and she did my moms friend, my moms friend is hospitalized because of it. It was so sad
Yeah, I usually need to focus on handling what's going on and control the pain, i yell at everyone who tries to help me - until i really need help - and after some time im ok
3:10. That is the first time in all my years watching Baseball did I ever see a Pitch Literally Give A Shit 👏👏👏👏. I am so impressed by the gesture. That’s how pitchers who don’t mean to clunk you should act. Fernandez did the right thing and I’m glad for seeing this uploaded.
What happened to taking a knee when a player was injured? I ask due to the player hit by Mercer's hit ball. Everyone crowded the guy and stared. Seemed off.
Noot it’s a rule in baseball that if someone’s injured balls still in play until everyone’s on base or out. It’s weird but it’s the rules cuz if the player goes to check on him while balls in play they can be tagged out
i dont even get why people want to play these sports, i mean i understand because its sports (duh), but wow a person's life is always basically at stake
Scary shit, seems pitchers should have some type of helmet, somehow make one that is minimal as possible but at least gives you a chance. Idk, tough call.
Jbird Pitching in a helmet would be nearly impossible. The helmet would move around on your head too much and it would throw you off. Softball pitchers wear face masks which stays on your head better.
As a person who played baseball from the age of 4-14 and then transferred to Softball for the rest of my career, this is honestly one of the most painful things. Getting hit by those pitches turn your entire face into jello and it shoots a excruciating pain through your body. I only got hit by a pitch once in my baseball career but I did get hit multiple times while on the field, being hospitalized after one of them. After switching to Softball I hated the face masks they forced pitchers, 1st, 3rd basemen to wear, and the masks that were built into our helmets. I agree with people in the comments saying that hitters and pitchers need more facial protection but it’s honestly just a burden. They block your field of vision and are extremely hard to get used too. Even after experiencing getting hit hard in the face in both sports, I still prefer having no face masks/facial guards.
RobAve it only happened once. In the 20s or 30s when no helmets were required. Spitball (spit on or with dirt) that moves a lot (the nature of the pitch) hit someone in the head. Rushed to the hospital, but he died. The spitball was banned from new pitchers throwing it. The last person to throw retired around 10 years later. No one new was allowed to throw it, but people who already threw it were allowed. Only fatality from professional baseball ever.
I'll never forget it, was me up to bat, and the girl pitching was my main bully, she was just cruel to me in every way, my weight, how I looked, my intelligence, she made me feel like the biggest mistake on the planet, until that day, line drive straight to the face. I'd be lying if I said it was on purpose, just call it a happy accident.
Andrew V hell no I didn't, I just stood on first like deal with it lol. She obviously had to go to the hospital but as a kid no I could have cared less I got a nice hit.
Jill Seufert your intelligence matches right now adding stupidity NOT AGREEING WITH HER ON BULLING but to be that stubborn what if she died or got hurt so hard she had to get reconstruction on her face HOW WOULD U FEEL AND IF SHE GOT BULLIED "oh she deserved it she bullied me" no. I DONT agree with your statement
AZ cardinals apparently you've never had someone make your life complete hell for no reason. Sorry you can't relate but by your statement I can tell you too are on the bully side of things considering you started your statement judging and criticizing my intelligence based on one comment. I didn't hit her, which she would have deserved at the time, it was sweet karma, simple as that. There was no reconstructive surgery, there was no long term damage, you don't have to be so damn dramatic it was a story from my childhood that was living proof that karma works. I was a 7 year old kid taking crap from her since I was like two. Get over it.
Jill Seufert Well, yes, you were young, and as a child, it is understandable to feel that way. But the fact that you have no remorse for doing something that might have harmed someone else, regardless of who it was or whether you meant it, is concerning. People can be terrible, but there is never a time where someone should be ok with causing another person harm, and by not caring about that makes you no better than they were.

these are rough to watch, but the sportsmanship from both sides is something you like to see. everyone knows it's generally an accident when stuff like this happens, so for all the concern to be directed at the injured player rather than anger at the guy who hit him is heartening
Legend has it that to this day, Jennings still doesn't know where he is.
SharkBird IM LAUGHING SO HARD 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
Genji Main we’re all going to hell for this😂😂😂
SharkBird .
Rodrigo Meyemberg - That's my name. Don't wear it out.
am i the only one that found this video fucking hilarious? I lol'd on almost every one.
4:48 that's a pleasant music to hear when a player gets *DOMED BY A BASEBALL* but yea
1:21 every pitchers worst nightmare
The catcher at 7.14 what a man he rushed over to make sure he was ok held him up
Shawn Afshar the catcher's jobs consists of: running the game, protecting the pitcher, and making sure the fielders are set in their defensive alignments
Shawn Afshar yeah it's his teammate what do you expect lol? Not like it was the batter running over to help
RedSox fan checking in. Salty was and is a class act
You see what the pitcher was doing, he looked like he was knocked unconscious by that hit. The catcher had to hold him up
Baseball players are so fair, not like french footballers (soccer) omg i wish you not to watch french soccer

Dude in the upper right corner...: 0.00 reaction
lmao
0:16 handled it like a man child
3:14 handled it like a man.
Edwin D correct
Have y’all ever been hit in the face? Fells like your face turns into jello and just spreads out. Crazy feeling.
Yeah I have. Weird feeling. Honestly doesn't even hurt that bad for that long unless you put pressure on it. I'm sure it's worse in the MLB because... it's obvious xD
3:03 massive respects for the pitcher, Fernandez, for going over to make sure the player who got hit is ok. Massive respects my dude.

Cristian Montero Thanks, watched the whole video but rewatched in 8 seconds with this comment.
Bro I went from watching Kawasaki clips to these brutal headshots. I've never even seen a baseball game in my life
Holy shit.
shity hol
my story isn’t a headshot but it sure was one of the scariest moments in my life. long story short my (BEST) friend was playing second and had a reallyyy bad collision with the center fielder. her head flunked back and jerked everywhere and her arms “flew” everywhere. i was 12-13 at the time and was playing first. i just remember seeing my *best* friend lying there on the ground looking up at the sky motionless. usually when something like that happens no one is supposed to go over to them except the ump and coaches but i ended up all the way in center lmao. i was speechless and having a panic attack and bawling my eyes out cause i thought she snapped her neck. eventually the coaches got her up and she could walk (after the ump did a few vision tests on her) and brought her to the dugout. i know it probably doesn’t sound that serious but i was really shaken up seeing one of the most important people in my life lying there not moving. if you made it this far, ty you’re a skinny legend, and sorry for spelling errors i’m too lazy to check.
The first one is relatible idk y but people tend to get angry when they get hurt sometimes
Fortnite Frostbite yeah especially in the face. It’s odd but I’ve felt it
Yeah, I usually need to focus on handling what's going on and control the pain, i yell at everyone who tries to help me - until i really need help - and after some time im ok
That one was funny
Clorox bleach how tf is getting hit in the face funny you stupid little frick you are an idiot
Destroyer it’s funny that he was so butthurt and treating the trainer like shit...
1:20 I wonder how everyone would react if this happened on a hit that would win the World Series?
That's not a question.
Clapping does so much when it comes to healing injury its amazing!
What happened to taking a knee when a player was injured?
I ask due to the player hit by Mercer's hit ball. Everyone crowded the guy and stared. Seemed off.
I’ve seen that Jennings shot probably 40 times in these compilations still just as scary watching him be out while still standing
Nope, that's unpleasant to watch, I regret this click...
Same
Pussy
@Kodak how is he pussy if he doesn't like watching people get hurt?
Well, what did you expect..? 🤔
@@JH-dr4xo You're one of the people who enjoy watching videos of the cartel decapitating people
I like how in baseball when someone is injured they keep playing lol
Noot it’s a rule in baseball that if someone’s injured balls still in play until everyone’s on base or out. It’s weird but it’s the rules cuz if the player goes to check on him while balls in play they can be tagged out
Jeshua Collins it’s a weird rule imo but it makes sense to just finish the play out
i dont even get why people want to play these sports, i mean i understand because its sports (duh), but wow a person's life is always basically at stake
@@machigiceb7788 this is still very rare
The same is true of a lot of sports. If someone is injured while action is going on, the treatment starts when play stops.
Man it’s impossible to not flinch everytime you see one of these.
If this were soccer the players would explode immediately.
MikeCharlieAlpha Nah they will probably just act like they have seen the gates to heaven
More like hockey. Those people are crazy with their tempers. And then they only get 5 minutes in the penalty box XD
Julia Lewis there aren’t penalty boxes in soccer lmaooo
trash can aesthetic she was taking about hockey
trash can aesthetic u fucking dumbass, he clearly said hockey
"Oh geez that's terrible joe. Now lets get a close-up slow-mo of that"
7:14 the lights are on but no one's home, scary to watch
Oh damn I would’ve jumped 😂
nice copy paste
You can hear the bullpen phone going unanswered....
How to solve this problem:
Wear a football helmet
kodyzombie lol ik
You’re supposed to turn in so it doesn’t hit your face and hits the helmet
Phoenix 4258 the pitcher did and got 104 mile an hour ball to his unprotected head.
New MLB rule: Pitcher throws and hits batter. Batter gets one swing at pitcher with a bat. Now, that’s entertainment!
Play football problem solved
It's better to be hit in the face with a baseball than listening to Joe Buck for three hours
Ron L I'd rather take my chances and listen to joe buck for 3 hours
Ron L NOT IF YOU GET YOURSELF KNOCKED OUT FALL BACK AND CRACK YOU HEAD OPEN THEN FALL OF THE STRETCHER AND GET RUN OVER. I’m not kidfing
Artie?
Thank you at least some one understands me
Joe Fuck
That Marlin's one was scary. Dude was ok for a second then just stared and started to collapse
Player: Gets hit in the head with a 100 mph ball
Sportscasters: Lets see that again
That Jennings one looked terrifying
The look on his face after the shot like he had an automatic reaction to a TBI that’s terrifying
The Jennings one is scary. Perfect example of "lights are on, but nobody's home".
@250 subs with videos Exactly haha
These are fuckin scary, these are the kinda blows could kill someone.
The title made me chuckle but God bless these people.
I can't imagine the feeling their wifes or husbands have when they see their man get hit by a ball. They are either in person or watching on tv
Dani Moen I like how you acknowledge that some players might have husbands 😂 you could have just said spouses tho
@@spooderman8862 I literally forgot the word spouses 😂
Dani Moen 😂
Spooder Man 🤣🤣
Nigga this is make baseball. Why would they have husband's, also I do understand, but don't be afraid to offend someone.
Chick Deney lol haven't thought of it that way. Nice.
Thing is, if you're a fan of the game first....I don't care what team you root for....You just do not like seeing stuff like this happen.
*If you're a human being with the slightest bit of empathy

I can just hear the “HEADSHOT” sound effect every time someone gets hit in the head!
7:02 Seems like the ball hit his head less than a second after it come off the bat .
