You know, that struck me the same way as well. And I thought about it and realized a lot of players just disregard fans and act like they're invisible after they slam into them in the stands. I don't really get it. Like is someone going to punish you for doing a quick once-over and making sure everyone is okay? MLB would definitely look like villains if they punished a player for that. Are the players really butthurt that the fan is in their seat where they're supposed to be?

"Accidental Apologies" would be a series of apologies that themselves happened by accident -- the person making the apology didn't intend to apologize. What we have here are "Accident Apologies," which are apologies for accidents for which an individual was responsible. I honestly clicked here because I wanted to see cases where people apologized without meaning to and maybe tried to rescind their apologies. Words matter.

Angel Hernandez should be the one apologizing to the players for being a lousy umpire…just saying.

He should be apologizing to every single MLB fan for being an absolutely crappy umpire lol.

Votto doing what he did just shows his class. In no way did he need to apologize and had every right to do what he did. Yes he put his hands on a fan, but it was to remind that fan of who they support. There was no malicious intent.

I'm seriously beginning to think that only seventeen things have ever happened in all of baseball. Where's the Dee Gordon home run -- is it missing because he didn't apologize to Colon?

Sometimes I think the one who does the injuring ends up more rattled than the guy they hit; I've seen pitchers look like they want to puke, and guys who need to be settled back down before they can continue.

The Bautista one wasn’t even close. The catcher barely had to move he glove, Bautista dove out of the way like he was tripping on acid and dodging a butterfly
