The Fender Champion 20 is a 20 watt amp (with an 8” speaker) that is perfect for practicing at your home. It sounds great at low volumes and it has a headphone jack!
The different sounds (voices) are phenomenal, ranging from Tweed, Blackface, British and Metal. In addition, the gain and volume knobs can be dialed in to explore each voice.
The treble and bass knobs let you color the sound, while the FX options are fantastic for such an affordable amp. These include reverb+chorus, chorus, flange, delay+reverb, wah, vibrato, and tremolo. A tap button is also included to customize the speed of your vibrato or tremolo.
To give you peace of mind, this amp includes Fender's 2-YEAR LIMITED WARRANTY.

I'm surprised that actually sounded pretty good with the telecaster
Agreed! Thank you for watching and commenting!
dude, I know the amp is "limiting" but I swear I can get the most metal sounds out of my tele that has an EMG ABQ afterburner
Dude this year I fell in love with the tele sound, but fenders quality has been butt. I got an Ibanez thbb10 and I love it
I’d go as far as to say I prefer the Tele’!!! ☯️
Teles are pretty versatile, it's currently the only guitar I own, I sold my other ones because they were just kinda sitting around
A buddy of mine gave me his champion 20 and I've been in love with this amp. This little thing is more veristile than I could've expected
It is a great little amp! Thank you for watching and commenting!
First real amp I ever got for Xmas when I was a kid back around 1966. It was called Fender Champ Amp and was about $40 new.
Thank you very helpful
I've been using a champion 40 and a Jackson js22-7 and with me now knowing This I've finally got the tone
Awesome! I am glad it helped you with your Champion 40! Thank you for watching and commenting!
@@5MinuteMusic does it work the same for the 100?
Bro u helped me a lot , this is my first amp and I had no idea how to make it sound good , thanks m8
It is my pleasure, I am so glad I could help you!
Thank you for watching and commenting!
I actually bought this amp because of your videos, I have to say I love every bit of it, and how versatile can it be
I am glad you love your amp! Thank you for watching and commenting!
My first amp. its what i learned this song on.
Very cool! The Champion 20 is a great first amp! Thank you for watching and commenting!
I love my champion 20 although I do wish the phones output was a 1/4 inch. its a great amp to bring to practice because it really lessens the equipment load.
I have this amp along with the Jackson Dinky. Great for me as a starter who just wants to shred. Thanks for this.
I have never heard of the Jackson Dinky. How does it compare to the Champion 20?
Also, my pleasure! Thank you for watching and commenting!
@@5MinuteMusic The Dinky is just a beginner's guitar for 200. It's mostly for folks who want to go the metal route. It works great with Champion 20. I tried your settings and I really like the tone.
Awesome! Can the same settings be used in the Fender Champion 40?
That is on my list of things to find out! Thank you for watching and commenting!
@@5MinuteMusic Thanks for answering
I think the 40 has a different eq system (more options) but it should be possible
Hey One quick question, your course is online or how it works?. I am from Nicaragua and I would like to buy it.
The Fender Champion 20 is the amp I currently own (and my only since starting guitar), never knew it was capable of a heavy tone like that! I usually turn everything (except the volume) to 10 for an angry sound since I like playing metal.
I turned the "Voice" knob all the way to the right because, well... I thought it'd be like "the right is the strongest tone!" And to an extent, it is but also gets really muddy.
It's a pretty good starter amp at least to me, then again I don't really know a thing about amp quality and capabilities, so don't take what I said as fact haha.
Thanks for making this video though!
I would recommend trying out the fender mustang lt25 amp, its cheap and super versatile. Its a great upgrade from the champ 20
@@preston_4824 I'll give that a look over. I'd like to upgrade my amp anyways, thanks for the suggestion!
Awesome, can you do the kill'em all tone or the black album, nice video
It still sounds way too muffled. It has no crisp bite to it. A better option is the roland cube amps.
I was looking for a good little amp for my stepson and this is great. Practice amps sucked when I was 12 - so much better than what I had growing up! The telecaster CAN master 😂
very close to what i orignially ran through my jackson JS series guitar. i used the british red with the gain on 6, treble on 8, and bass on 4 with reverb+ch on 4. i got this amp from my buddy before i got my guitar and this tone is very accurate.
Very cool! Thank you for watching and commenting!
If it was and Justice for all, Lars would make you turn the bass to 0! 😂

Guys, let's share the top settings of this combo below 👇
Very cool idea! Thank you for watching and commenting!
Mine are:
Voice: Princeton (Blackface Amber light)
Gain: 1
Volume: 7
Treble: 5
Bass: 5
Simple and basic pristine tone
I LIked it on the Telecaster for the Champion 20 but I liked the Strat better for the Champion 40.
I think it would have sounded better on the green heavy metal tone instead of red.Green sounds little less muffled
I'am ready to buy this amp right away today, i feel that i can have many tones combined it it with my digitech gnx3000
I did the same setting like u guide its doesn't sound like your i don't maybe u have padel on or different type of guitar I have gio ibanez
I have a question could I play this using my Jackson Js32Q ArchTop
Hello, I have the same amp, but a squier strat that I'm using with it . When I use these settings it sounds nothing like this at all. Is it because it's a strat? It just sounds too clean , not enough distortion.
Probably, have you tried turning the gain up a bit? And does it sound too thin?
Thank you for watching and commenting!
you could also try a distortion pedal or an eq pedal
@@Timewalker13 I got sss, what pedal would you recommend for a metal sound ?
You should make a ...And Justice For All Tone Tutorial or Ride The Lightning
The singlecoil sounds way less muddy and has more attack.
Would this amp be less noisy with a noise gate pedal?
Noise doesn't come from the amp, it comes form what's plugged into the amp. If it comes from the amp, there's nothing you can do. Noise gates usually are a rip off, because if you're signal is so bad that you hear noise while playing, you have too many effects, too high gain, or a terrible energy source. Buying a high quality power supply for your effects is a better investment.
If you turn up the gain, every amp will get a higher noise level, but you shouldn't hear it once you play. Reducing noise with a noise gate always means cutting off frequencies and rarely you really have frequencies you can afford to cut off.
This song was next in my bucket list 😄
Here is a tutorial I just did on how to play the intro: ruclips.net/video/q28vJeZMBAs/видео.html
Thank you for watching and commenting!
@@5MinuteMusic thankss... Already watched that❤️❤️
Is it possible to try this with Vox Pathfinder 10?
This was cool! I came to just hear the sound and it was amazing!
Will it have the same settings with an Orange Crush 20?
I will experiment with that this week!
@@5MinuteMusic OMG Yes pls! Thank you in advanced!
you do tones on the spark 40 im always looking to help with tones
Heyy yo tengo ese amplicador, gracias por la ecualización!
Nice video! Could you do this for the Orange Crush 20rt (or just the normal version)? Or if you could give me the settings for it, I would be grateful!
I have the Crush 20 and I will try it out this week!
Omg I was just learning this song and I have this amp!
Very cool! Thank you for watching and commenting!
Great video! Do you know how to achieve a surf rock tone from the same amp?
Nice! Do you think you could do Ride The Lightning
Easy. Do what he did in the video then add a fuck ton of reverb
amazing video please do how do get the sound of rammstein i really wanna play their song called ,,sonne''
I’m planning on getting jackson js 22 to see if it will improve the metal sound I’m looking for , but should I upgrade the guitar or amp , I got a pretty cheap Amp and a cheap guitar , which one should I upgrade first ?
I'm also wondering this exact thing
@@granDoktor Ive decided that I’m getting a new amp , (LT25) it has a lot of built in tones for 140 usd , looks worth it from the looks of it
@@Ok-lm4is alright, thanks, I'll probably ask you again in a couple of weeks or so how you like it :) good luck with it
Dude i cant wait for you to do tis on a fender champion 100!!!
If I can get a hold of one I will! Thank you for watching and commenting!
THAT WAS SO COOL!!11!1!11!!!
Subbed my brother gobless 🤝👏👏👏
Thank you for watching, subbing, and commenting!
Wow the IBanez had sounded a lot more like the real thing, didn’t even noticed the change until you showed them back to back at the end.
I want to do more back to back examples in the future for that very reason! Thank you for watching and commenting!
I have this amp haha, turn gain 10, volume 4, tremble 10, bass 10, and turn the tone setting all the way to the right, it is so heavy and it sounds like panters
2:21 for those who came here for.
What about slipknot?
please can you do mustang lt25
That sounds great! is it posible to make a Fender Champion 20 video for the song Hotel California, by the Eagles?
you need a 12 string acoustic for the intro. The rest of the song can probably be dialed in on one of the British channels.
@@Timewalker13 thanks!
@@Timewalker13 would you know the exact settings? Aswell as for the solo?
@@omarsxg32 I would turn up the gain to 6, find a British or tweed channel that fits the best, add a little reverb, turn the bass to about 3 or 4
@@omarsxg32 they actually used fender tweed amps to record that song so my money would be on a tweed channel
I should try this at my school's music room cuz they have the amp in there lmao.
gain on 10 pls
Lorna Shore to the hellfire on this amp
I would say none of those sounded like master of puppets, but it's fine for a practice amp.
it sounds okay, but it doesnt necessarily sound like master of puppets. But we can safely say that it is a decent metal tone.
I play Metallica on a frontman 10g and a telecaster
Nice
Thanks! Thank you for watching and commenting!
doesn’t sound like it at all
Maestro of Muppets
Hm, this was nice.😎
Thank you! I am glad you enjoyed it!
Champions 40 :000
I try it with my stratrocaster, and it sound like fart
2:56
People are still milking master of puppets? Beat a dead horse much?
L comment
Did you get idea from Stranger Things?
Yes! Thank you for watching and commenting!
LOL better buy a metal pedal...That distortion isn't even close to the sound of Master of Puppets. Buy a BOSS Katana I or ll amp and let it rip...You can directly download Kirk's sound right from the internet with the either Boss amp.
It's not a Mesa boogie. Thier small amps will produce that Metallica sound, not this amp. Just my opinion. This amp won't produce metal sound well, was not constructed for that tone.

What else would you like to know about the Fender Champion 20?
Yeah, that’s not good bro. It passes the test with like a D+
ruclips.net/video/8fIs-f-jaZY/видео.html
Budget Toan
no
Play it how they play it and stop using all of the vibrato man.
What can’t a Tele do 😌
heh this is ridiculous, it obviously sounds nothing like it, not gonna pretend it does
sounds terrible🤣
It just doesn't though
not everyone has access to mesa boogie amps and marshall cabs
they all sound terrible. Way to low gain and bass imo.
Agreed
What is this absolute nonsense?
Wow, it sounds like shit
Well, for anyone woundering what if actuals amplifiers, cabinets, guitars e.t.c. of recording - i highly recommend you all an YT channel "LambChopper678" - this guy is searching legendary metallica tones for a decades or so. Check this out, if interested.
sounds nothing like it
