▶︎LEARN HOW TO use this amp with the Fender Champion 20 Tone Course: 5-minute-music1.teachable.com/p/the-fender-champion-20-tone-course Question of the Day: What feature of the Fender Champion 20 would you like to know more about?
Hi, I'd love to know what amazing sounds I can get with this amp. I mean, what are the settings to sound similar to Jimmy Page, Santana, Jeff Beck, Slash...... Don´t know if possible
I am going to be working on settings to emulate famous guitar tones. I will post a video when I have them ready, but it might take me a while! Thank you for watching and commenting!
Thank you for the helpful video. I want to know more about the Voice settings and how to dial in sounds from some guitar greats using the Voice and FX dials.
Got a very dope friend this past year, lives 1000’s of miles away, but when I told him I was tryna buy a guitar and learn, he sent me his champion 20 completely free to help me out. Badass amp man
I know this video is old but holy moly! The audio on this video is wild. You did a phenomenal job editing the audio and using the mic you used. Highest quality voice recording I've ever heard from someone with a relatively small channel.
hi, I'm a beginner again, after 40 years, I just bought a fender chapion 20 and an ibanez grx70qa, later I'm planning a sqaier telecaster, your channel is great, .
Been practicing one year got my 2nd guitar and a fender 20 I don't know nothing couldn't find that much information I have to much string noise now I have a start thanks
I think 80% of the video was clear. But I really think you need pedals and more control to truly achieve a your own "dream sound" and have it match you playing. Thanks for the video
For the past few years I’ve been playing a champion 50 XL . now that I’m traveling , I’m limited to my old champion 20 and it’s nice playing it again because it reminds me of my beginner days .
One more thing about the Champion 20 (and 40 / 100). According to the electronic circuit diagram the "phones" output is in fact a stereo output from the internal Codec-processor (AK4556 chip). While the power amplifier and speaker (of course) is mono output. Aux in is also stereo and pass on to the phones output. Plug in a set of stereo headphones an try the effects :) Or why not to a mixer? Just loving the Champion series combos :)
good video, thank you. i got this amp a while ago and you helped me decipher its functions. [would have liked to have seen you strumming while explaining/sampling the effects though.]
very helpful! currently looking at new amps since the one that came with my guitar broke. had no idea there were 12 fx. every video i’ve seen doesn’t go in depth. thanks!!
Very helpful info! I know it’s hard to justify upgrading to a speaker that costs almost as much as the amp but I’ve heard the 25 watt Jensen P8R is a great upgrade. At $110 it’s pricey. I’ve also read people touting the 100 watt Celestion TF0818 PA speaker as a great upgrade. At $70 this might be more attractive. In case you have the inclination try such a mod, I’d love to see it! 👍
Great video! I've recently purchased this amp and your channel is the best resource so far. I was playing with a Fender Mustang before so i'm used more with presets. I would really apreciate if you can make any videos about getting tones from specific artists/songs and I think this is a great idea of continuing this series. For example I'm trying to play Europa-Santana and i cannot get sustained sounds at all.
Thank you! I am glad that my channel has helped you! I am going to be working on settings to emulate famous guitar tones. I will post a video when I have them ready, but it might take me a while! Thank you for watching and commenting!
Hi, I have this amp but never thought of starting with fx level 10 and working down. Have liked and subscribed and will be watching your other videos. I struggle to get a crunch sound, or to use the gain knob properly. I have a strat and an Epiphone SG. Thanks, Bob.
I would like to hear more about your metal chug settings. I get mine to chug pretty darn good for a practice amp but if you can dial it in even further that would be awesome
I’m trying to get some surf sound out of my Champion 20. Is there any chance you could show us something? Do you think it could get something decent? Thanks in advance.
Thanks! I'm confused that the knob is not pointing exactly at the effect you are getting. Red green yellow - what does that indicate? Good sound though!
Can you test this amp with epiphone sl les paul? I had this amp with this guitar, as you said i still cant get my fav sound, space song by beach house was the sound I’m looking for
Thank You Derek! Excellent Videos! I Can See you Really Care about you audience. I Do have this amp, I AM Happy with it. I have been quite surprised how Great it sounds. Does the Mic you use change the sound?
Thanks for the video, ordered the Champion 20 through your Amazon link. I just got into learning guitar and your video really helped me make a decision. Can't wait to plug my Gretsch 2420 into it! Hope they're a good combination together. What do you think?
the 20, or should I say 20's(multiple) can be a beast....if you use a splitter and link up several of them...omg...you would be surprised at the sounds you get..try it with just 3 and you will immediately understand. I have a buddy who built a 6-er called the six-pack. it's 3 x 3 of them in a shelf(box) with a power strip and splitter built in(hey do what you can on a budget, he got most of them used with the one he had new) that thing makes a crazy wall of sound...those little things were designed to emulate big sounds in a little box...but the six-pack...OMG...I called BS on it when he told me he was working on it...and while it's not the most efficient it certainly is loud and sounds crazy.
im sorry if im out of topic.but, how to record the guitar with my phone by using the phones input? im using the champion 40.and again, thanks alot mate.keep up the good work
I have never tried that. You definitely can run signal out of the Champion 40 through its headphone jack, but I do not know if your phone can receive audio in through its headphone plug. I would think you can because most headphones (especially for phones) have a built in mic, so it should be able to process audio coming in. You could try something like this: www.sweetwater.com/store/detail/CMM110--hosa-cmm-110-3.5mm-trs-male-to-3.5mm-trs-male-cable-10-foot Thank you for watching and commenting!
Hi, I enjoy this fender, and you were one of the reasons to choose this amp. Thanks a lot! Can you please recommend how to set it up to play guitar solos of Iron Maiden :) Will appreciate your help a lot!
Love to see you Demo the Mustang GTX 100. I have seen Several Demos on it. However No one goes as deep as you. It would be Really Cool to see what you come up with. What's your Day job? :).
Hi. First, awesome video as always!! But....If I'll get the 40 watts one and play always in low volume in my small basement, the 40 will still sound "too much" and super warm compared to the 20 which looks perfect for a room and small basement as well???
Hey Derek, thanks for reviewing this amp so often. I was recommended this but in some demo videos I hear some cracking noises with the distorted tones, just wanted to ask if you've experienced the same static-y noises while playing? Thanks!
Well I rewired my amp by cutting me wire that goes to the speakers wiring it to a guitar jack and then wiring a extra cable I have for wire a guitar cable that goes head to a cabinet to the speaker then yesterday I got my 2 x 12 whoa does it sound awesome

It's a great amp for recording, it's a shame they didn't put a line out on it, i have to use the headphone output and it loses volume.

Buy the blues junior or speaker upgrade on the champ 20?
Advice guys 🤔
What settings would you recommend for using an acoustic guitar with this amp?
What’s “hall and spring? “ fender champion doesn’t have that.
Thanks for the video.
Can you plug headphones right into this amp? Or do you need a larger/smaller adapter in order to plug in?
