Beautiful night skies, Maia! I've tried that technique, unfortunately my ten + years old Caran D'ache oil pastels seem to be kind dry; it doesn't glide as used to. On the other hand, a thick white oil pastel of the same age (from Sennelier) kept in cellophane bag still in perfect conditions... something to think about. 💞
Im not suprised to hear that your Sennelier are going strong! Im sure they are amazing !! Sad to hear the Caran Dache are dry wow !!! Usually they are a great brand. I guess oil pastels are not their specialty. I have to say though that the Mungyo Gallery are incredible and the best ive tried so far. ! Thanks for the info! Very interesting indeed !
Tyfs...you've definitely inspired me 👍I just got my oil pastels a couple of days ago to give this a try because it looks so quick, easy and fun. Do you think the weather makes a difference? I'm in Australia so wondering will they be as easy to spread when it's cold 🤔 one way to find out lol 😆 I got a set of "normal" colours and a set of pastel coloured pastels and this cool little box from pentel (I think 10) half metallic and half neons so definitely going to have fun with all that 😅. Always enjoy your videos and yeah as I said inspiring 🙌😁
Oooh my goodness, a box of oil pastels that are half neon and half metallic sound like too much fun! I did not know anybody made such a set...seems I have more shopping to do. Btw, when the weather is cold here my oil pastels still work ok. What I try to do is keep my hands as warm as possible. Before coloring, I'll put on gloves (especially with those little thermal warming packets inside), or slowly wash my hands in hot water. May have been my imagination, but keeping my hands warm seemed to help spread the oil pastels better.
Lol yeah I saw the neons after I put the others in my cart and just couldn't resist. I haven't used them yet but the metallics look very sparkly just in the box so I'm thinking they're going to be fun. I always have warm hands so should be all good 👍
