YOU are incredibly AwEsOmE!! Very detailed instructions, easy to understand. I love how you showed how to use them by laying on top of book page or flower page, etc. love you! You have inspired me!!👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼applause👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
Thank you so much for your kind words! I'm thrilled to hear that you found the instructions detailed and easy to follow. It means a lot to know I'm inspiring you!
Thank you for sharing , and your English is just as pleasant as can be :) Your art that you are sharing is just inspiring and exciting. Your art is amazing and so you know English is the hardest language to master and you have mastered it .This is about your art not how to pronounce words. Thank you for sharing your talent to inspire us all :)
Hi Terry, Thank you so much! I could have a long conversation with you about this (which we can do privately, of course 😊😊), but I just want to say how important and supportive your comment is, and what a difference it makes. THANK YOU. 🧡🧡 Once, during one of my free courses-yes, "FREE"-I received a comment from a lady who said it was difficult to understand my accent, that she had to rewatch several times, and that I repeated myself, making it a waste of time. I knew it wasn’t my problem, and my tribe has always welcomed me and my accent warmly. But it intrigues me when I see how some people consume our content, savor it, and yet still feel entitled to say mean things. I love constructive feedback, as I’m an avid learner, always eager to improve. But I couldn’t help but wonder: does this lady speak more than one language? Well, Terry, no more words needed. I could go on and on, but I just want to say again: THANK YOU. 😘😘😘
@@FranciscaNunes I love it ! Exactly!! I bet you she only can say sew in English 🤣🤣🤣🤣 The devil made me say that . Thank you so much for your kind words! I'm thrilled to hear that you feel inspired to try making lace paper. Your enthusiasm means a lot to me, and I can’t wait to see what you create. 🌷❤️
Thank you so much, Francisca! I have watched a couple of videos on this technique but this is the first using gesso and the scrubbing action while in the water bowl. Appreciate the inspiration!
Thank you so much Francisca. This technique is very beautiful and your is much quicker to achieve than the others I've watched! And you're recycling too! Obrigada!
Muito obrigada Dalila! Fico feliz que tenha gostado da técnica. O objetivo é sempre encontrar maneiras mais simples e criativas de criar arte, e ainda reciclar! 🧡🧡
I did not know about creating threads sticking out and water dunk or using gesso. I just did my own thing and sewed squares. Thank you for sharing. Your video was great! ❤
It’s wonderful that you experimented with your own approach! Sewing squares sounds like a great idea too. I love how everyone puts their own spin on things. 😊 Thank you for sharing! ❤️
Thank you, Sandra! I’m glad you love the ideas. It sounds like they’ll be a great addition to your textile art and mixed media pieces. I’d love to see how you incorporate them! Do you have IG account? Let me know please.
I must confess that discover your channel was a pleasent surprise. I made some netting with thread, tissue paper and white glue (mod podge). I will try with tissue paper, thread and wall paper glue. But this is an easier way to do it. Great video ❤

Thank you so much Francisca, I really really enjoyed watching you show us all how you create this beautiful and unique pieces. I’ve seen it before but I’m very impressed by your creativity. So I’ve subscribed and given you a thumbs up too ❤❤
oh this is wonderful! I've been experimenting with this technique, & having mixed results. I put mine on the gel plate to give it some strength, but I think I like the clear gesso idea better. TY!
Hello Francesca ….this was very interesting and creative..I also like to sew and play with paper, journal and scrapbook. I will do some of this so thank you for sharing it with us here in Southern Canada, Moncton, New Brunswick.
Thank you, Leslie. That’s a great question, and I didn’t refer to it as much in the video. I think I only mentioned the tracing paper with the Gelli print of poppies. Regular copy paper is great; it’s strong enough to stitch, and when wet, it breaks easily. I use copy paper with the poppy prints. The other paper is tracing paper, which has an interesting texture. Since it has a Gelli print with the plastic of the acrylic paint, it was damaged differently, and the end result isn’t as faded as you might see in the video. Overall, thin papers that you can stitch are better because they crumple more easily.
This is amazing, I saw it but did not give much attention. Now I just want to get started! Can you use magazine pages as well, I do not have a printer to utilise pdf's or other printing. Thank you for sharing
Thank you, Retha! Yes, you can definitely use magazine pages for this project. They can add great texture and color. I’m glad you’re excited to get started, and I hope you enjoy experimenting with the materials you have!
You made me wish for a sewing machine for Christmas! I really want to try this BUT make the stitching more irregular so go at diagonals and widening out from a single point on each side... and instead of gesso what would it look like if i coated in a LOT of pva glue, can i use the hlue to fill the gaps with a transparent film? How would this look glues to a canvas and then paihted over to give incredible texture.. you make me want to experiment and play! But i know my brain and i will have forgotten about this by the time i have enough money for a sewing machine.. do you think this could be sewn by hand?
I love your enthusiasm and ideas for experimenting! The irregular stitching sounds like it would create such a dynamic effect, especially if you're working from a single point on each side. As for using PVA glue, it could definitely add an interesting transparent texture-worth trying for sure! Hand-sewing is absolutely possible if you don't have a machine, and it would give it a unique touch. Can't wait to see how you explore these ideas! Keep playing and having fun with it! 😊
What stitch length do you use? I know that very close stitching will cause paper to tear away easily even when dry. Thank you so much for sharing this amazing technique!
Hi Debbie, Thanks for your question! I usually use a stitch length of about 1 to 2 cm (approximately 0.4 to 0.8 inches) when creating paper netting. This spacing creates a nice texture without being too tight, but feel free to experiment with shorter or longer stitches for different effects! Happy crafting!

Is there a way to do this without a sewing machine? Absolutely loved this technique!!!
Hi Susan, hand-stitching will probably work, but it is more time-consuming.

Gorgeous papers! Love what you did with these images. Can you share what kind of paper you used on the poppy images?

What stitch length do you use? I know that very close stitching will cause paper to tear away easily even when dry.
Thank you so much for sharing this amazing technique!
Thank you, Teresa. Happy that you enjoyed it. I don't do them very very close to each other. I don't measure but they have some space in between.
@@FranciscaNunes thank you for replying. Looking forward to your next tutorial.
Have you tried using freezer paper and ironing it between the freezer paper?
Hi Maria, no I din't try. I don't have freezer paper here in Portugal.
Fabulous! Is 5here a name for this?
Thank you! If you’re referring to the specific technique in the video,is netting paper, making it turn like a lace or knetting
Would you share the stitch length you are using to create this paper netting. Thanks
Happy crafting!
just FYI the word “sew” is pronounced in American English “so” just like the word “so”… in other words “sew” and “so” are pronounced the same
Thanks for the heads-up, Judy! I appreciate the clarification on pronunciation. It’s always helpful to get those details right
