Mate it's an expensive business mining all of the rare earth minerals with diesel powered equipment. Even while cashing in on child labour it's an expensive business and needs taxpayer's money to stay in business.

I think the pricing is misleading. We have just had a quote for this exact battery - 8.28kw installed $12250 inc Gst - this works out at $1479 per kw not even close to $900 to a $1000 he is saying
That's because installation is a fairly fixed cost and the battery expansion doesn't change it all that much. It's the same with solar panels. Due to roof design I tried getting solar panels installed and all my quotes had payback periods over 20 years since I can only fit so many panels. More panels on an easier roof even with all the other equipment and panels being the same would be far less expensive per kWh.
@@4431mike They price to what the market can bare but I think we will see prices drop over next 3 years as Home Batteries are an easy market when over supplied with batteries. ie Always there and just get the price right and people will buy. I reckon $ 500 / KWH installed would mean most solar owners install a battery.
Hi guys wishing you all well, since these ev cars were interduced I was thinking when ev battery for home will be available and now I'm glad to see that thanks all
We installed a 30kw BYB battery box in our garage, with a Fronius Inverter, which is being charged by our rooftop solar. So far so good, no issued with it and good performance
That's still too expensive guys. $1000 per kw. They need to make them 10 fold cheaper.

There are many companies making these now. They will all have to compete on price.
Mate car batteries are produced for $60 per kw.@longutsful
Endearing idea,, wish it all success!!!!
Hope this comes to Japan. We’ve got 3 BYD vehicles, but this would be absolutely amazing
pricey battery even in US $
My Tesla has a BYD blade battery, best battery I had so far in my EVs (Model Y SR MiG)
BAD? You mean BYD?
@@EVsBeyond thx :-) Auto correct is a bit biased it seems
(Model Y SR MIG ) What?

It’s great for solar owner but if BYD wants to sell more EVs around the world, PowerShare box for home and EV is the way to go.
It can be used for price arbitrage as well... buy power cheap offpeak and use it on peak.
Now, we need that BYD jacket!
Hmm, I should get one too.
there is a new one in 2024, as well a better one from Catl in 2024, we are waiting for it, current Catl in Tesla is a no go.

Even at 900 per KW it is still ridiculously expensive!

Their EV batteries are now less than US$100 KW cost price, how come so expensive for this product.
Keep getting quotes cos my friend got a BYD 12KW (3 x 4KWH config) for $ 10,500 but installed himself (he's off grid)

Sorry forgot to add in Africa we have 12 hrs of sunshine
not in nord africa, not in winter
Nice, tried asking some questions about the battery on Wednesday but no one with knowledge was around.
I believe they only had the one expert on hand, and he may have needed a break!
Needed to know kw output to house and whether it operates over 3 phase - probably most important questions.
Anyone know what currency the 1000 dollar quote was?
This dude from BYD has absolute no idea about the labour cost in NZ haha, hang on GST included xD?
Thoughtful technology!!!!
Hardly new. It’s been available here (in NZ) for at least 2 years. Maybe the Blade bit is new.

On a typical winter day like this, how much electricity can it generate and store? Thanks
hello did you use the BYD LVS 4.0KX Batterys ? If so how many battery's are you stacking and how many stacks Peter
Wow, a Chinese+Australian accent. Amazing.
5.5 kilo hours to 66 kilo hours of energy! Kilo hours is not a unit for energy. That's the minimum technical spec a salesman needs to know about!
It’s kW hours…
You thought you had a point there but instead….😂
What "kilo" would one be talking about? Kilogram? Kilometer? Kilojoule? Kilowatt-hour?
Expensive toxic fire starter. BYD Burn Your Driveway
