    Would love to see this lens aperture racking

    • @PhillipSkraba
      @PhillipSkraba  3 года назад +1

      Now that would be naughty! I usually find the A73 a little slow when it comes to compensating with iso/shutter, I really have to rack slowly for it to be of any use.

    Looks good Phillip, i am using the old Sony A-mount lenses. 50mm 1.7 . I hope you are in good health mi. Thanks for the video. Regards from Denmark ..... Chris

      I have an old Pentax 50mm 1.7 that is my Dads and I still use that with an adapter. Each one has a character, I am addicted to manual lenses. Thanks Chris, all the best from Poland! Denmark is wonderful 🔥

    Hmmm what about that DJI Lidar autofocus thingy to turn this lens into an autofocus lens?

    • @PhillipSkraba
      @PhillipSkraba  3 года назад +1

      Sure, that can work on the Ronin RS2.

    • @henrytheturnip
      @henrytheturnip 3 года назад

      @@PhillipSkraba Well luckily I have an RS2, so maybe I will buy this lens. So there, you nice person, you :p

    • @PhillipSkraba
      @PhillipSkraba  3 года назад +1

      @@henrytheturnip I find the RS2 lidar focus is great, but it needs to be set up very, very well for it to work perfectly. I did try it with a few fully open lenses and it seemed to do the job very nicely, mind you it likes focusing on my nose.

    Another question, sorry. How would this lens cope with macro rings, especially when stacking focus?

    • @PhillipSkraba
      @PhillipSkraba  3 года назад +1

      I'd say like any lens with macro rings. Depending on what strength you're using it'll be a ton of work to stack with, especially on a 50mm f1.2.

    Maybe something about the IQ and lenses character on a next video? 370 dollars for 1.2 lens for photography it might have some shortcomings? Very interesting lens, been watching it but holding the finger on the trigger😃

    • @PhillipSkraba
      @PhillipSkraba  3 года назад

      I pixel peeped a little, the IQ is as expected, an 80’s type of soft but sharp at f1.2, that’s what gives it character. It’s definitely a lens I’ll continue to use as I find it very nostalgic and “cinematic” in an unconventional arty farty way. Shortcomings, none, well, for a fully manual lens, none. Unless you don’t like character, in that case it’s full of shortcomings. I’d personally pick it up. Did you watch “You” on Netflix, some very interesting choice of lens going on there, so much character!

    • @Gravelish
      @Gravelish 3 года назад

      @@PhillipSkraba thanks for answering! I like character as long the image quality is doable. Don’t have to be stellar by anymeans. A lotnis forgiven when the price is right for a 1.2 lens. I was hoping for a more in depth look of this lenses characters🙂
