@@WesPerry THAT'S MY MAN RIGHT THERE!!! Yeah, character with lenses, film, technique, million other variables, is what defined photography back then in the analogue film days. The movement to digital sadly had sanitized the art out of photography. But I have hope with all these new photographers who are going between digital and film and ever developing pros like yourself, the art of photography will eventually be more than filters and very expensive iphonies again ❤️
lens fare is great of this lens. I am loving it. very artistic. This price, I am not care of the lens hood, ha ha. Canon and nikon also use plastic lens hood.
That had to be a 'Life is Strange' cosplay shoot. Been wanting to do a shoot for a Chloe cosplayer. I find these affordable lenses interesting, but I fear going manual for focusing. 😅
You get used to it. And it’s especially not too bad with mirrorless focus assist systems like focus peaking and zoom. 👍🏻 Obviously it results in a slightly slower photoshoot, though.
8/10 for built quality while this thing has no weather sealing and a cheese lens hood? You're way too nice for a camera reviewer. You didn't even complain about any minor details that are problems only on paper for several minutes. :P
Weather sealing is only worth 1 point, as are accessory components. That’s how I got to 8, but I can see your point, that would be quite disappointing for some. Meanwhile, I’ve had multiple people complain that I shouldn’t take off Any points for weather sealing, because “no one needs it and it’s just a scam.” 🤷🏻♂️🤦🏻♂️
Also: I generally have a Lot of complaints about not being nice enough. Most brands won’t work with me anymore (including Sony). Hazard of the industry I guess…
@@WesPerry Wait what? How are you not nice enough for brands to work with you? The only thing above your reviews on the niceness scale would be straight up undisclosed advertisements that hand out nothing but straight 10s out of 10 ... wait a minute. That's exactly what camera companies are after, isn't it? That's a solid score of barf out of capitalism for those jokers in my book.
I regularly get emails that simply say “how much for your positive review of our x product?” Apparently it must be pretty common? Additionally I’ve had to can completed reviews of products that I genuinely loved (and for instance called my favourite in its class) because the manufacturer threatened legal action for me having said anything negative at all in the review. I can’t say it’s worth legal action, so the video just gets deleted, because I’m sure as hell not going to edit out any and all criticism 🤦🏻♂️
this lens is artistic len. faring is its weapon. you pay what you get its lens hood. this lens is not suit for guy who only take sharp photos. But if you like lens fare it's awesome.
Great review, love the image character of this lens, amazing pictures 🫶🏻 I like your videos so I subscribed
Does the lens get longer ( extends ) when you focus in and out ?
Its a prime lens so no
Your video are very helpful, thank you! Did you try the TTArtisan 50mm F0.95?
That one’s a bit too rich for my blood when it comes to a manual focus lens 😬
Though I wouldn’t say no if they wanted to send me one for review. Haha
You are reviewing and I'm like okay, I should not buy. But then I see the photos and I'm like, I should buy! Character!
Not enough focus on character these days 👌🏻

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ nice test!

Have you taken the 50mm GM for a ride? Relatively expensive, but worth it, to me. The 50mm F.95 wasn't worth it to me, at all.
I haven’t been able to. It’s just too far out of my budget at the moment. ($3000 where I live)
May have to gaffer tape the aperture ring. 1.2 yummy goodness at chump change price. I so wanna slap this on the Blackmagic.
Nikon Z Mount Lens Available ?
There is now, yes

No weather sealing is a surprise or a deal killer on a 1.2 full frame lens? What are you smoking my friend?! 😂

I do like this lens, and am still using it a lot. I had a client print a billboard with a print from this lens a few weeks ago ;)
1.2 I will only use it at that. 1.4 and above I have other fantastic lenses,
I’ve taken to using it at 5.6 with a macro extension ring for product video shots. Just had that dreamy look still! (Especially when backlit)
Nobody knows how to say the word Meike😂
