Doubt it. They were trash metal in cliff's day. They were very into not doing orchestra stuff, videos, or wearing make up. Metallica went back on all this, cliff never had the chance to. Not saying I don't like it, I think it's excellent.
Seriously- Metallica need to hear this. This is what s&m2 needed -I imagine this fading majestically into life after the Pulling Teeth tribute on s&m2 itself. The classic barque waltz of strings weave and dance effortlessly alongside the band. It all streams and flows perfectly. Orion was absolutely singing and screaming for this enhancement. I applaud Metallica for placing cool gambits on s&m2 via the Orchestra themed pieces that begun the second half of the show. But,theres no way Id take that over this here. This, and your version of Fade to Black really make me think just how perfect s&m2 could have been were these songs on it like this. Stunning, superb, sublime. Thank you.

That harmony in the interlude at about the 5 min mark (5:00) is just SO INCREDIBLE!! Makes me think of the scene in The Shawshank Redemption where Andy plays the opera music over the public address system and everyone simply STOPS whatever they are doing just to hear the heavenly harmonic being played in that moment. I think there’s a reason why they never played Orion at either show. They must’ve looked at it and thought about it. I think it’s just because the middle bit already sounds so classical they decided there’s simply nothing to add to make it better. I think it would have been great maybe for an intermission where the band take a break and the orchestra play it on their own, and add the middle bit of to live is to die in there as well, kind of like a mini medley. Just my opinion though, they’re both a work of genius Edit : here’s an example of what to live is to die could have sounded like during the intermission. Yeah, that was more just me poking fun at the fact that it took 20 years for them to do it a second time. We can only hope though. I thought it'd be cool if at some point in the near future they made a tour out of it, playing shows with all of the local symphonic orchestras for each city they visit

Man, these are incredible! Makes you excited for S&M 3 in 2039! Any plans to work through more of these by chance? I remember reading that the band had really wanted to play ...And Justice For All on S&M 1 and was surprised when it wasn't on S&M 2

Yeah, that was more just me poking fun at the fact that it took 20 years for them to do it a second time. We can only hope though. I thought it'd be cool if at some point in the near future they made a tour out of it, playing shows with all of the local symphonic orchestras for each city they visit
@@alexnickerson8469 It would be great of they would release a new s&m anytime soon. But first they're gonna release new material and do their thing. Personally i think that after the new album that they're just going to do some shows and call it a day
