  • Hey guys!
    To be honest, I am fed up with those old ESC/Receiver combos in some of the cheaper RC cars. Went on TEMU (no affiliation) and ordered a new ESC. And man, it does it's job!
    Check out the video where I install it and just test the 3S LiPo out.
    Hope to have a chance to give it a proper run soon enough!
    Cheers and thanks!

    Love it man! How did the original esc work for you? Any overheating??

      Sorry man, missed your comment! Yeah it was mandatory Chinese ESC you always get and it does tend to get a bit hot. But, imo it does not feature standard connectors or support 3S. Those are the main reasons I changed 🤗

    I was able to get mine to go across water with paddle tires.

    Do you guys ever run yours on water is it safe for the receiver with no waterproofing?

    • @Heizekel77
      @Heizekel77  3 месяца назад

      Hey man, I would say no. I've never run it on water, under water nor in rain. This is a cheap ESC from Temu and it _might_ have said waterproof but I would not risk it anyways. Also, the receiver I use is a Traxxas one which I believe is not waterproof.
      However, would I have chosen a more well know brand like Hobbywing which have waterproof ESC's and then enclosed the Traxxas Receiver in a waterproof receiver box, I'd go for it ;)

    Oh man this is exciting! Did you run this thing yet?? If so, what speeds did you hit and how did the motor do? I am doing this exact same thing on one of my 1/16 scales but was contemplating changing out the motor incase the stock motor gets too hot. I can't find any specs on the stock motor anywhere but in theory, the stock 4000kv motor should hold up fine as long as it doesn't overheat. Thanks and keep the awesome videos coming!

      Hey man! Yes... About that... ;)
      I have another video where I run it on 2S and it's ~55km/h.
      I loaded this one up with a 3S I bought and before I attached the GPS I wanted to do some test runs... Needless to say, I was not ready for the speed :D It crashed and a big chunk came off the body!
      Put as soon as the snow thaws away I hope to get another try!

      @@Heizekel77 hahaha damn! Sorry to hear of your crash. Butttttt in other words, it was hauling all kinds of ass before the very unfortunate crash you speak of? Did you get a chance to feel if the motor wasn't overheating? Hopefully you can get it back on the streets soon enough! My build should be done within the next week or so. I'll let you know how mine makes out so long as I don't generate a similar outcome lol

    • @Heizekel77

      Just do it man :) I mean, you don't go full throttle all the time and if you keep the battery to a smaller mAh you don't get to run too long even if you wanted. I don't see how you'd get time to overheat it. I've got a lot of experience in mechanical vape with 18650 Lion batteries and it's about the same thing, you get the hang of it thru experience.
      Upload some pictures or a vid when you're done!
      Also, I do recommend to change the shocks on these cars, they come with friction shocks and I tend to use HB shocks.

      @@Heizekel77I will definitely send pics and video once I get it up and running. Hopefully I'll receive all the components I need by this weekend. Just waiting on a few more items to complete the build. I completely agree about the stock shocks. I've already replaced the stock shocks as the friction shocks hardly handle the truck with the power it came with! Great little units for the price though!

      @@petervenner2450 I totally agree :) There's just so much bang for the buck and fun to be had. Changing the shocks is a really good idea, I recommend some HBX in a video somewhere, those are my go to shocks when it gomes to that range of length.

      Hey man, yes. It really becomes crazy fast with new ESC and 3S. I still haven't mended my body after the crash. Maybe I will try 3D something to fit.
      I hope you get yours to work! Will check out the model number you have :)

    How will the lights connect back to the esc

    • @Heizekel77
      @Heizekel77  6 месяцев назад

      Hey man, I skipped the lights tbh. You can attach a new connector if you have one laying about but the included lights only fits in the original ESC.
