So I watched this video a few times and then I set out to do the work. I was kinda nervous cause I have never done a brake job in my life. I just forked out $500 bucks each time. Anyways, bought an upgraded brake kit with hardware pads, rotors, and all the shiny new stuff to go along and some brake grease. Jack stands and all. Went well spent like 3 hours total had one rotor that was a pain so I used the persuader and it came off. Used grease where I was supposed to and put it together and took it for a spin and bedded the brakes and the car is perfect. Thank you so much.
Nice job!!!! Glad u did it urself for first time each time I do it u will get quicker faster and it will be easier. By the way diy ke check ur work and ur all set!!!
Thanks for the tips. I wire brushed where needed and cleaned everything then I pulled the pins and cleaned em and put a little silicone grease on then dabbed some on the back of the pads and tiny bit on brake clips.
Karl Hungus thanks trying to help as much as I can also entertain I have another nice channel here’s a link please subscribe ruclips.net/channel/UCvqsPzqAZfVv_gjBYUFqNdg
If u want to do the bleeding I would do it this way before anything suck out all the fluid from reservoir and out new fluid and then when about to push the caliper pistons back open the caliper valve and allow the fluid to come out when compressing so it dosent go back in to the system after doing all 4 brakes then u can do one last flush so all the fluid come out of lines and make sure u keep topping fluid on top
Few things id add is: 1. Add brake grease to the mating surface of al hardware 2. DO NOT use WD40 anywhere on these brake components 3. Open your brake fluid reservoir before compressing your caliper. 4. Use brake cleaner to clean surface after all is installed but before you install your tire.
Definitely a really good video, can you make another one on how to change the brake drums and shoes brakes on a 2013 Honda Civic as well? Trying to find out how to do it and very crappy luck finding anything for a 2013.

I was going to ask about the miles. I just bought a 2013 civic and idk how bad the rust is. This car looks a lot better than mine. But mine has 103k so it’s normal to an extent
Great video, my friend is a mechanic and is doing front and rear brakes and rotor change for $160 and I bought ceramic pads and black coated rotors for 180 from rockauto parts. But I would love to try this myself. How much is the tool gun to put the screws in. Regular mechanic charge way to much just for labor 300$ and my own parts which is insane.
You don't need an impact gun to break those bolts loose. You can probably do it with a standard ratchet, definitely with a wrench and hammer. The impact just saves time. If they're really stuck, tighten first then loosen.
Mannnn that snap on $400 punch I had was just garbage I learned a great trick I rotate the rotors to where I can hit in back so bring it to close as passable to where ur gonna hit in back with hammer and it loosens the screw then turn it out like butter worked last 10 jobs for me I made videos I will see

Great explenation, easy to follow, good job dude
Thank you
When changing brakes and pushing in caliper, do i need to u do the cap on brake fluid reservoir or leave it closed???
If u open it then it would breath better
What are the wire pins for at end ? Never seen that
They have open the pad once brake is not applied
Which side does rubber sliding pin go into caliper top or bottom?
Usully I pay attention to where it came off but most cars if caliper is rear of rotor from car it’s on bottom if front it’s top
1st brake job complete thanks alot brotha!
Good job! 👍

it's ok to put grease on the back side of the brake pads?
Yes thanks for catching my mistake but I did full video on greasing points only about treason for brake I covered all that
What size were the screws you used the impact driver on? And by the #12 hex bolts, did you mean 12mm? Sorry, I know nothing
1 1 not sure about the size on punch but yes 12mm
The drive u can match up perfect size
@RB he meant the impact ...you used a 17mm

Will the ebc usr slotted rotors fit a 13 lx?
Not sure
He put the pads in dry - always grease the contact points before fitting pads
which contact points?
you mean the actual braking surface? or the "tangs" that fit the brake pads?
