Thank for posting this video. I have a 3 inch crack in my bath tube, crack is super tight (can barely see it). I have access to the bottom-back of tub as shower is on my second floor (above my garage). My question for you is:
Would it work if I follow all your repair steps and work only on the back of the tub? Im trying to avoid drilling holes, sanding, and painting tub. I would rather patch and paint my garage ceiling. I would appreciate any feedback.
We would not recommend this approach for several reasons. You will have subfloor issues because to make the repair to the bottom of the tub you would need to cut out subfloor which is needed for support for the foam.
@@tubrepairco I didn't think about that. Thank you for your help
If floor has texture , how you do that?
You need to sand down the area you will be applying material to. Our kits will have a smooth finish in the repair area. This is less noticeable than trying to replicate the texture from our experience. We are developing a level 4 kit if you want to redo you whole floor that will include a nonslip grit but have not finalized it yet. Stay tuned for more developments!
Is this work for rusty metal bathhub or fiberglass only
Our kits work on rusty metal tubs too. Feel free to email us photos or give us a call if you would like talk about your project. Normally metal tubs are strong and don’t require support so our large wall repair kit will address rusted holes and make a strong and attractive repair. If you do feel flexing when you step near the damage the you should do the floor repair kit.
what is the gray product that was applied before applying the finishing coating?
It is the finish putty to give it a smooth finish.
Bondo
Is that porcelain
No it’s fiberglass.
All metal bondo
Curious to know what makes you think long or short strand tiger hair is proper material for this type of repair. FYI ITS NOT!!!!
It has held up very well for years on hundreds of services we have done. What makes you think it’s not?
