They harmonize so well that 3 voices sound like one. As for the "lack" of video. They didn't need all the frills---they had their voices and what voices they had. RIP Maurice, Robin and little brother Andy.
This was before “music videos” were really a thing. They were actually breaking and preparing that ground with videos like this.
familiar voices (from the same family) blend/harmonise seamlessly..this is the BeeGee's superpower
On point. It was about the music back then.
Exactly ! ❤
They are harmonising...😮
They're harmonizing so good you think it's one voice they all have different pitches
Was thinking the very same thing
Exactly !
Totally harmonizing between all them. That's why it sounds like they are just 1 voice or singing together.
All you have to do is watch Maurice come in and it’s obvious
They are singing in harmony, throughout the song.
Nope, just in select areas.
These three brothers made harmonies so tight that no other group will ever be able to copy them - including in this video clip.
They at times may sound as if they're singing in the same key - however, they're not.
They never studied music, never knew how to read musical notes - nor knew what a musical scale was.
All of them self taught (since the ages of 9 and 6...), playing an array of instruments - and musically adapting to each new decade that they entered together.
Yes,, these three Musical Geniuses brought us close to 50 years of Pure Magic...💖💖💖
This rabbit hole is DEEP - their catalogue is vast (over 600 songs that they wrote, sang and produced...), as well as songs they wrote for Diana Ross, Frankie Valli, Otis Redding, Barbara Streisand, Dionne Warwick, Kenny Rogers/Dolly Parton and Destiny's Child - to name a few...
Have fun getting lost in this rabbit hole, guys!
Well put
@@trudyjoejenkins9357
💕
I just realized something you said that wasn’t right. They never studied music or ever learned to read music. It was all just in them. This is all 3 of them
@@trudyjoejenkins9357
Yes, You're right - and that's also what I said in my comment.
Enjoy the rest of Your week!
Their Too Much Heaven is one of my favorite songs of all time !
They are brothers. Their voices are naturally harmonized. They sang together all the time from childhood. They are perfection. Cheers from Canada
@ denise tinto cheers from Mtl suburbs.
They wrote this song for the Saturday night fever movie. Made a bunch of them all big hits.made Travolta's career #1 grossing movie for years.
When you can sing like this you don’t need a over the top video. The music stands on it’s own.
Exactly, most of the youngsters prefer Glitz and glamor rather than Talent these days
Asia you have no idea what you’re getting yourself into with the Bee Gees. This particular song I get why you’re saying what you’re saying about the harmonizing and no change. Keep reacting to them and you’re gonna be blown away by Barry Gibb. I’m so glad you started out with this song because it only gets better from here
Totally agree
Totally agree too 🥰👌
They are definitely exceptional singers and I meam…….exceptional singers you need to continue reacting to them you will eventually I’m sure agree with me 😉👍
I totally can’t wait to get into them more… I heard some harmonizing but didn’t really make reference to it specifically for whatever reason.. 🤦🏾♀️None the less, still a great GREAT band and I’m looking forward to hearing more of them! Thank you for tuning in with us! It is most certainly appreciated. ❤️❤️ ~Asia ☺️
@@AsiaandBJ bonsoir Asia first excuse me for my English I’m French Canadian from the province of Quebec in Montreal the hometown of Céline Dion 🥰👌vous avez des yeux magnifiques the translation in English it means…you have some magnificent eyes just wanted to let you know 😁🥰✌️now about The Bee Gees I’m 56 years old and I saw many bands in my life but i have not yet encounter 3 singers has good has them there’s many 4 exceptional bands singers but 3 they are at the top and also they have written their own stuff they even have recorded a song with Celine that became a world 🌎 hit it’s called immortality I hope one day you will react to it 😉✌️and now I know that you said that your a huge Céline Dion fan well I’ve got something exceptional and very rare for you it’s a gift 🎁 here’s the very first appearance ever of Celine on television in Montreal she was 13 years old and I was in front of my television that same night after that here in Quebec and in France 🇫🇷 she instantly became a international star ⭐️ here’s the video just for you 🥰✌️✌️ruclips.net/video/et4ly-NKvIo/видео.html
Some Bee Gees stats; Brothers Barry, Maurice & Robin Gibb began in 1955 as The Rattlesnakes, (Barry age 9, the twins almost 6). 1958, were renamed BG’s/Bee Gee’s. 1st international hit was Massachusetts in 1967, hit #1 in 13 countries. In the US alone, starting in 1967, they had 30 top 40 hits (23 in top 10, 9 #1s & 6 releases were consecutive #1s). Worldwide, over 120 million records sold. 22 studio albums. 83 singles. 2 live albums. 15 compilations. 4 Soundtracks, including Saturday Night Fever, the 2nd largest selling soundtrack of all time (in Library of Congress, as Culturally Significant). 3 Grammys, plus Grammy Legend & Lifetime Achievement Awards. Rock & Roll Hall of Fame. Songwriters Hall of Fame (1031 songs by Barry, Robin & Maurice, together, alone or with others). Wrote hits for Diana Ross, Dionne Warwick, Barbra Steisand, Frankie Valli, Samantha Sang, Dolly Parton & Kenny Rogers & more (many also produced by Barry). Barry is the only songwriter in history to have 4 consecutive #1 songs on US charts. Starting with Bee Gee's Stayin Alive, which hit #1 Feb. 4, 1978 & held for 4 weeks. March 4, was bumped by baby brother Andy Gibb’s (Love is) Thicker Than Water, #1 for 2 weeks. That was displaced by Bee Gee's Night Fever, #1 for 8 weeks, followed by Yvonne Elliman's If I Can't Have You, #1 week of May 13. Since Barry co-wrote all 4, from Feb. 4, 1978, till mid-May 1978, with no gap, a song (co) written by Barry Gibb held the #1 position. Not many will ever come close to their career.
And no auto-tune
@@riacoaster8978 I figure they invented auto-tune just so people could try to sound like Robin (kidding, of course). Cracks me up when Robin sings lead & people comment, insisting his voice has been altered. Nope. Bee Gees is what true talent sounds like.
The look on Asia's face when she first saw Barry Gibb was priceless! Lol. Trust me, as a guy who was a teenager when this song came out, you had plenty of company. Young women swooned over Barry's singing and looks.
I swooned over him as a little girl😍
All the brothers - Barry, Robin, Mo and also Andy - had devoted fans. They had distinct personalities so there was something for everyone.
I am by no means gay, but even I swoon over Barry. Credit where it's due that is one beautiful man lol.
Lol..... I thought the same thing. Every time he appeared her face lit up.
Of course Barry is absolutely gorgeous just like his voice.
That is pure harmony! They could sing as one voice.
You guys are way wrong the lighting was meant to be like that it's the Disco mood feeling and they are harmonizing in this song
I agree totally! Their harmonies are so good it sounds like one voice. You have to take into account that Asia doesn't know much about music. She learnin'!
Asia's smile is so freaking infectious. My cheeks are hurting. Lol.
Y'all have a huge rabbit hole to dive into with the bee gees. One of the best groups ever.
Arguably the greatest love song ever recorded. I say that because of the harmonies, lyrics and melodies are ALL phenomenal here.. It's literally flawless...
The Bee Gees wrote 100 top 10 songs. Many written for other people.
You could tell that Asia succumbed to the "Barry Effect". As soon as she saw him & heard him, she was gaga for him. You could tell by her smile. Barry was the man!
I succumbed to the "Robin Effect" in 1967 and it never left!!! 😁
Everything about him was nigh-on to perfect. I call him a god for a reason.
What’s crazy is Robin and Barry’s voices are very different when you hear them sing solo, but when they sing together their voices blend seamlessly. It sounds like one person! Check out their popular hits, which are too many to count I think, and you’ll fall more and more in love!
Yeah, they both sound like it’s just Barry singing.
The lights represent the Disco era. Lots of lights!
I'll tellya, many of those, sayin' never heard them before, are on a wrong trip. Everyone heard them, so their music is still on the radio and used in hundreds of movies. 1100 songs, created by bros. Gibb from 1961 up to 2001. Endless list of hits by themselves or written for others. Greatest songwriters ever! Watch them singing 'For Whom The Bell Tolls'.
This song brings me so much joy, and so much sadness at the same time. The 70s, what a beautiful era to grow up in. No cell phones no computers no Instagram no Facebook.
These guys didn’t need any fancy videos or lights or dancers-all they needed was their pure, raw, beautiful voices! They harmonized like no other group. 😌
They could make the phonebook sound good. I miss them so very much. Greatest group ever!
👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾❤️
Most of the best times of my life were in the 70s And the MUSIC WAS FANTASTIC ..
The video and technology has surely gotten better. But the quality of the music definitely hasn't !
So true!
A list of Bee Gees
1. Gotta get a message to you
2. Lonely days lonely nights
3. Words
4. Nights on Broadway
5. Tragedy
6. Jive Talkin
7. You should be dancing
8. One
9. Immortality (with Celine Dion)
Laughing at our tech back in the 70's.
Well the upside to that is REAL musicians and REAL talent on show.
Todays autotuned, soulless garbage is laughable by comparison to the glorious 70's.
Image is ALL that matters now, hence the nosedive in quality.
Now they have better technology but the talent went down
This is where artists could sing and use their voices with barely no technic interference needed --- something most artist today miss --- you take them and they nearly sound the same live as they do recorded ... this was and is true artistic ... am so glad i still got to witness and grew up with this music --- the more i appreciate looking back --- the only genre today that still has true skill for me nowadays is rock / metal ...
The Bee Gee's defined the Disco Era.
They were absolutely harmonizing....They're voices blend so well and the mix is so subtle and smooth its hard to decipher.
I do believe the lights are meant to be seen that way. Bee Gees music is amazing!!
Yep: shouldn't judge by today's standards
@@riacoaster8978 which are crap anyway
The lights was there showing the people who was putting there music down the song is All about their music and they're asking The people to let them and there music be pay attention to the words of the song
Exactly right
Yes, it's very Saturday Night Fever, night vibes with bright lights outside and in the 70s discos...it's a whole 70s thing
You wanted to hear their natural voices without falsetto; well, there is a lot of their natural singing voices in this song; without falsetto.
You probably have the BGs, Simon and Garfunkel, Beach Boys with the best harmonies but they were led by The Everly Brothers. All great in their own right. Me, I love, them all
Loved the bee gees they had great songs
"You win again" is a good one from their 80's era, actually was a comeback song for them
I bet Asia actually heard the Bee Gees without knowing it, just put on "Stayin alive" :D
Not harmonising??Bear,woods,shitting.
The Bee Gees rabbit hole is beautiful.
Did they bend over? I missed that bit in the vid 😁
And DEEP!
You need to hear Fannie, Be Tender With My Love'. The multi-falsetto arrangement
these 3 brothers do will blow your mind. Quincy Jones said it was one of the greatest
R&B songs ever produced.
This kind of harmonization is something which only happens when you're singing with the same persons for more than 20 years, are siblings with them and 2 of them are TWINS!
This is Bee Gees, we should invent a time machine to see them performing live!
I love the Bee Gees and am not ashamed to admit it. My parents used to play their Greatest Hits album and the Saturday Night Fever soundtrack.
How does he do that....wait till you listen to "Too Much Heaven"...you will be saying that through the whole song...nice reaction
I love the Bee Gees and this particular song👏👏👏🙏
It was the 70's. We didn't really watch music videos. We watched live performances on tv. MTV videos didn't come around till the early 80's. Queen sparked that with Bohemian Rhapsody promo video in 1975.
Fun fact when Barry and Robin sang in the same key it sounded like one voice as their voices blending so amazingly together.
The 70's produced some of the most beautiful love songs. The Bee Gees are no exception. Love this song.
You're in for a treat with the Bee Gees... one of the greatest groups of all times.
By the way: "Bee Gees" means "brothers Gibb"!
Not quite... The group's name was originally The BG's - contrived from the common initials between Barry Gibb, Bill Goode, and Bill Gates (no, not *that* Bill Gates). The name then evolved from The BG's to the Bee Gees.
@@italianviking80 Plus mama Barbara Gibb, who was also in the room (when Gates noticed all the BG initials). .
The Bee Gees harmony is like warm honey
Barry Gibb - hubba hubba. That voice, the hair and did you see that sweet tushy at the end? LOL
Yes. How can you miss the sweet tushy? Everything about Barry is sweet.
I love the 1970s hair and beards. It's fitting that their music defined the era and they looked as 1978 as you could get.
This was the song they played at the end of the night at the disco. It was either hook up or go home.
You have to hear "Too Much Heaven " ! You will be able to full hear their genius harmonies !!
Surprise they have not gotten to “Too much heaven”?
Grew up listening to them and still do at 55. Better than today’s music by far.
Too Much Heaven guys.Listen to the guys do that.
This is harmonizing at its best. I love the Bee Gees. This is a great song one of my favorites but of course I love them all. They are all talented. Like your reactions.
Don Everly, of the Everly Brothers, just passed away. One of the Founding Fathers of Rock n Roll (others include Little Richard, Chuck Berry, & Elvis). You should give them a listen. Live performance of "Dream" & "Cathy's Clown" can be found on a video together. "Bird Dog" live is also out there. So is "Wake Up, Little Susie". "Dream" is a ballad, the rest are pretty up beat.
There were no “videos” then - no MTV - we’re lucky to have this - ahead of their time, as usual - those are disco lights that were in clubs across the country. Singing in the same key, thankfully, and are harmonizing throughout the whole song. Not an easy song to sing with those chord changes - no auto tune then. We used to dance to this and it was perfect - not too slow so you could do moves but still very romantic. It was a beautiful time for music. There’s so more…Enjoy!
Yeah these are the masters of sync singing. They made it what is is today. Not even gonna try to judge em. I manage to reach braking glass with my voice. They reach the Angels in Heaven.
Saturday Night Fever and Staying Alive music by the Bee Gees with John Travolta as the lead actor in both
Night fever is an AMAZING song by them. Probably the most famous.
This was before music videos were a real "thing". Kinda corny by today's standards, but the music stands by itself.
Three voices made in to one Great voices.
I was nine when this dropped. You would have loved the roller rink in the 70's and 80's. This song comes from the 1977 megahit movie soundtrack, "Saturday Night Fever," set in NYC, surrounding disco in a young man's life. This album was deemed "reflective of life in the United States," when it was added to the National Recording Registry, part of the Library of Congress. It belongs to you and me, ya'll. I love watching people listen to stuff for the first time that I've heard most of my life. Much love from 270.
Love proper reactors like you, look at her face reaction!! she's loving it
Timeless
Pure Gold
OLD BUT GOLD
They have a TON of hits!!! Enjoy! 😊👍
The Bee Gees have been making music since the 60's Made music for other artists, also did the soundtrack for Saturday Night Fever. They are brothers Barry Robin and Maurice. Sadly Barry is the only one with us. The rabbit hole is mighty deep.
When I was a kid and my older sister would play this stuff I thought was lame. Now that I’m older and have “experience” it’s pretty damn tight! 😂
Yup!
Right on!
My brother and cousins used to torture me because there was a big thing it was called disco sucks you either listen to rock and roll or you listen to disco and I liked both the use of disco suck shirts even
Yes, sooner or later one gets there!
You goddamn right its tight.
This is my favorite Bee Gees song
You should listen to their songs like Too much Heaven and Staying Alive
Other persons told Barry Gibb to try falsetto and then they recoginzed that he were incredibly incredible. You should listen to "too much heaven" its such a beautiful song full of memories. Stay blessed. Love from europe austria 🥰
“ living in a world of fools , breaking us down”
Perfect!!
Too much heaven!
I love the way Asia's face lit up when she saw Barry...he had that affect on the ladies!
Ahh great memories of the last dance at the disco way back in the late 1970’s but you really had to live through this era as a young man to appreciate the special time you were living in at that time and only us 65 somethings could really appreciate what we had then.
It's all about there Voices plain and simple
Never heard of this group…welcome. They are top tier. They have their music on the great movie called SATURDAY NIGHT FEVER.
Thank you guys for the honest reaction. I can always depend on you doing that. If this song doesn't move you up into the emotional tone band of aesthetics you're not being yourself. I enjoyed living it with you.
Y'all miss the point of the production video. They weren't promoting hype. Their voices were the hype. They put a quarter of a million dollars in their pockets by not spending on hype to try to sell their music. Their voices sold the music thus putting all that money in the pockets. U gonna notice if u continue the bee gees all there vidoes are like that. I'll take their voices any day over glamorous hype they didn't need that to sell music their voices did it all.
Asia can sing. She hit a note that proved it
' Run to me ' is absolutely beautiful as well. Love your reactions!
Barry is the only living brother left.Hes been married to the same woman for over 50 years! Very rare in the music business. He wasn't originally a falsetto their producer suggested he try it and the rest is history.
Some of the best Harmonies ever!
THE REASON THEY ARE LOOKING AT THE CAMERA IS THEY ARE SINGING DIRECTLY TO THE PEOPLE THAT IS WATCHING THE VIDEO AS IF THEY WERE SINGING TO THEM FACE TO FACE
60s,70s,80s, and 90s, Hands down the best music era every my opinion I grew up on all this different style of junk ,disco, r&b rock, country. Classic rock. It was awesome 😎
Robin and Barry are singing lead together in this one..
This video was shot in a park , they were walking in a circle
Until the end...
The 70s had the love songs and if you haven’t done Lady by Kenny Rogers live performance check it out!!
Barry Gibb in his prime was one of the most beautiful men ever. He's also one of the most talented and successful songwriters in the history of modern music and in his prime his vocals were unmatched. Gorgeous man with a beautiful voice and the best and strongest falsetto ever. Just listen to Reaching Out from 1979 ruclips.net/video/vfHUS5Mf00Q/видео.html In this clip: the tallest guy with the big hair and beard: Barry Gibb born September 1, 1946, the only surviving Gibb brother. Guy with long hair: Robin Gibb, born December 22, 1949-passed away May 20, 2012, balding guy with beard Robin's fraternal twin brother Maurice (pronounced "Morris") Gibb, born December 22, 1949-passed away January 12, 2003. They also had another, younger, brother Andy Gibb, born March 5, 1958-passed away March 10, 1988.
The three oldest brothers were born on the Isle of Man (UK). Oldest brother Barry got seriously burned when he accidentally pulled boiling tea over himself at 18 months old. He was in coma for a while, nearly died and was in hospital for many months. Because of this, he did not learn to talk until after the twins were born. Later the family moved to Manchester and from there they emigrated to Australia in 1958, right after Andy was born. Their musical career, which they had started as little kids, didn't lead to international success so they moved back to the UK in 1966. Then they had a string of big hits, until they temporarily broke up around 1970 for 15 months. Started back up, looking for a new sound which they first found in 1974 with the transitional album "Mr. Natural". After that "Main Course" was the first album that moved them into a new direction: more rhythm&blues, dance music like with great hits like Nights on Broadway and Jive Talkin'. From 1976 on they went all out with falsetto driven dance music which lead to their biggest commercial success as they provided classic songs for the Saturday Night Fever Soundtrack (1977 Stayin' Alive, How Deep is Your Love, Night Fever amongst them).
React to "Too Much Heaven". Your mind will be blown! 🤯🤯🤯
Have you guys listened to “Fanny Be Tender With My Love”? One of the best BeeGees songs!
If you're in California, while driving down the scenic coast on Highway 1 you be blasting "California 1" by Confunkshun! lol
What you've heard before may be the cover version sung by one of them boybands (I think it was Westlife).
They did most of the Saturday Night Fever soundtrack.
This song is from that movie.
Saturday Night Fever came out in late 1977 starring John Travolta which was his first leading role in a feature film although he done a few movies before as well as TV. The soundtrack had several songs by the Bee Gees including their famous "Stayin' Alive" which was played in the opening sequence. It you haven't already please react to their other songs "Stayin' Alive" and "Jive Talkin'".
there are actually 4 beegees the youngest had no interest in there music , but he did sing with them when robin was sick and actually toured with them , and yes he sounds just like the rest of them
There is a younger brother that had a brief music career & his name was Andy Gibb. The movie you're talking about starred John Travolta
This song gets you in the feels ❤
I can easily hear and sing along with all three different harmonies. All throughout the whole track. Actually in some areas where they are overdubbing a couple extra voice tracks in at times. Pretty easy to hear but I have perfect pitch so it’s not totally fair.
I’m so confused how a singer can not hear it.
Funny you mentioned the fires in CA. I just finished day 32 straight on the Dixie fire with no end in sight. Thanks for keeping me company while I'm stuck away from home. Love you guys.
Too much Heaven
"You should be dancing" is a classic, right there with "Stayin Alive'
Pleeeeeze take a deep dive into the Bee Gees "Too Much Heaven" "Stayin' Alive" "More Than a Woman." Let's Goooooo!!!!!
Too Much Heaven next please
I think the whole lights-thing is the Disco Vibe!
