I'm a metal and rock dude, but you can't deny the obvious brilliance of The Bee Gees. The Saturday night fever album soundtrack is just that, a soundtrack, their catalog goes back to the '60's, they are the finest 3 part harmonies group ever.
Amber (Mama) adds so much to your channel. She peppy, fresh, intelligent and beautiful. She has it all and she not camera shy. It’s refreshing to hear an analysis conversation about the videos. Rarely do we see a duo that discusses the song. Usually the partner just says, “Oh, that was good.” She definitely says what she thought and why. Yes, a keeper in life and IMHO a keeper on your channel - maybe in a guest capacity, as her time will be soon filled with the new baby.
I've been thinking the same thing. Amber is a real asset and has lots of relevant commentary to add. I really dislike a lot of the reactors out there. Not much worth listening to. A lot of the commentary and antics on the channel have nothing to do with the music. There is too much over-reaction, ie: wiping of the eyes throughout a song but you never see their eyes water or a tear fall. Bad acting. Or, their is no reaction or emotion at all. Just a thank you, hope you enjoyed it, like & subscribe comment once the video ends. Don't know why people watch those types of reactors. These two are a pretty perfect balance of commentary, chitchat, fun. etc. Love their personalities and positivity. Seem like great people, people that you would enjoy having in your life.
Barry is so amazing. I trmember dancibg to this song back when I was so young, over 50 years ago. I don't remember his name but I remember the warmth of his breath against my neck as he sang alomg.
Amber hit the right note. These love songs are not like today's because back in the late 70s, love songs were on the verge of being religious - his beloved is "His light in his darkest times" and "Savior when he falls." This is going back to renaissance music when the beloved is compared with the heavenly beloved. This is what we mean by sacred love combined with earthly Love. Beautiful reaction.
In the 60s and 70s, more was made of singing ability, and lyrics rather than looks. The advent of auto tune allowed more "beautiful" singers and boy/girl bands that pushed dance moves pushed out those wonderful songs. (In my humble opinion)

I was born in 1970 so I was only 7 when this soundtrack came out but I remember watching my mom and her friends just jamming and dancing to this…even my amazing grandmother would disco dance and we would laugh so hard trying to do the Hustle and the bump…I loved being a teen in the 80’s but this makes me remember it was pretty cool being a kid in the 70’s….
I heard this song for the first time in 1977 when I was 16. It was in a store called Record Bar. I had been a Bee Gees fan long before the "Saturday Night Fever" phenomenon, and this era was actually their second comeback. Thanks, Rob for introducing their music to a whole new generation.

1977, I was 8 years old and my very first 45 record was this song! I am born and raised in Miami and the Bee Gees lived in Miami since 1975, we got to see them perform many times, Andy as well. Great memories!
I personally think that the reason music is so different now is the changes in how it is delivered. Growing up in the 70's I had to listen to records and 8 track tapes that my parents owned and the radio. There was a lot of country music and I still love old country music but we lived for the TV shows like Solid Gold, American Bandstand and Soul Train that gave us more variety. In the 80's MTV launched and it was a huge deal. When we heard about Thriller coming out, that was an even bigger deal. We didn't have cable or a VCR so I had to go to a friends house to watch music videos. Now there is music coming at you from all directions. You can sit down and listen exclusively to one genre because everything is streaming now and you aren't stuck listening to stuff you don't like in order to get to the stuff you do. You will never know the struggle of waiting by the radio with an old fashioned cassette tape deck to record songs you like.
True! Listening to music was an EVENT. I waited for hours for my favorite song would come on before I fell asleep. It’s great to have all this accessibility to what we want to hear, but it was different waiting for our faves to play!
Back then you almost had to WORK to hear your fav songs. It just meant more when the music wasn't so readily available like it is now. It takes no effort at all.
The biggest difference is the artists back then for the most part wrote their own music so it was more real Now it’s all flash. The singers have multiple writers writing their songs

I personally think that the reason music is so different now is the changes in how it is delivered. Growing up in the 70's I had to listen to records and 8 track tapes that my parents owned and the radio. There was a lot of country music and I still love old country music but we lived for the TV shows like Solid Gold, American Bandstand and Soul Train that gave us more variety. In the 80's MTV launched and it was a huge deal. When we heard about Thriller coming out, that was an even bigger deal. We didn't have cable or a VCR so I had to go to a friends house to watch music videos. Now there is music coming at you from all directions. You can sit down and listen exclusively to one genre because everything is streaming now and you aren't stuck listening to stuff you don't like in order to get to the stuff you do. You will never know the struggle of waiting by the radio with an old fashioned cassette tape deck to record songs you like.
True! Listening to music was an EVENT. I waited for hours for my favorite song would come on before I fell asleep. It’s great to have all this accessibility to what we want to hear, but it was different waiting for our faves to play!
Back then you almost had to WORK to hear your fav songs. It just meant more when the music wasn't so readily available like it is now. It takes no effort at all.
The biggest difference is the artists back then for the most part wrote their own music so it was more real
Now it’s all flash. The singers have multiple writers writing their songs
