I'm an old school metalhead and I love the Bee Gees! So many great songs from them. I really hope you explore more of their music. Loved this reaction, Aileen. 😊
Reformed 80's metal head as well. It took me a few decades to overcome my Johnny Fever (the DJ from WKRP in Cincinatti's obsession with "death to disco") induced bigotry towards disco, and The Bee Gees were one of the groups that helped me to overcome that bigotry.
@@IRGeamerwell said! 😎
I'm a 53yr old metal head but this is my childhood before metal took over my brain!!
@@IRGeamer For me, early disco is awesome. Before the drum machines, sequencers and synth strings/horns. Give me a good rhythm section, some funky guitar with some horns or strings and I am in. That said, I Feel Love is an awesome track, it's just the aftermath that followed that kind of sucked the soul out of disco.
Same here. Metalheads have feelings too!
"Too Much Heaven" by the " Bee Gees" One of their very best slow songs...a must hear!
Agreed!! No one can harmonize like The Bee Gees did.
Agreed 💯%🔥🔥🔥
It's beautiful
Yes pls react to this one u won’t be disappointed
One of those RARE songs you could probably put on at a biker bar and have the Hell's Angels in tears singing along by the time it's over...
Lol.
"living in a world of fools trying to break us down when they all should let us be" they predicted social media!! No less relevant today.
I was thinking the same thing. The lyrics are just as relevant today as they were decades ago.
Agreed.
You can bet Aussie fool 💯1️⃣🇦🇺
That line was more about people giving lovers a hard time but yeah I guess that fits too lol.
Amen
The Bee Gees were THE sound of the seventies. They not only performed a prolific array of songs, they also wrote almost as many for other artists. However, any time I see one of their videos, it's a bitter-sweet experience, reminding me of the tragedy of Barry losing his brothers. He is still touring, and keeps their memory alive.
The disco era was Bee Gees, Bee Gees was the disco era.
@@OriginalPuroFYI they hated the term disco. They called their music contemporary r&b and blue eyed soul. They were labeled as the poster child for disco and suffered an undeserved backlash that lasted another decade almost because of it. They moved on but some people wouldn't let them
This takes me back to my 8th grade school dance back in 1978 good times indeed 🙂👍
but let's not forget the 60's. that's when i came of age and the beegees were an unstoppable force. to love somebody , i started a joke , new york mining disaster 1941 , gotta get a message to you , massachusetts, lonely days. they were continuously at the top of the charts long before disco was a twinkle in some record producers eye ! their 3 part harmonies were as good or better than the beach boys or the association's 5 part. simply the best.
@@OriginalPuro The Bee Gees were never a disco band, but uneducated people who do not know the difference between disco & R&B!
It took me growing up to appreciate their talent. The down side is realizing our BEST music is behind us now!
A lot of Bee Gees music makes you feel as if you’re floating in the beauty of their harmonies. Bee Gees TOO MUCH HEAVEN is a priceless gem to the ears and the soul. I Loved your very thoughtful reaction, thank you. ❤❤❤
Don't forget their best harmonies... in Run to Me
I agree with you!!
Yes, yes. Definitely Too Much Heaven next.
I agree. Their music from the arrangement, the vocals, the harmonies and especially the songwriting
I love "Spirits Havin' Flown"....now, that really floats me
You got one of the deepest rabbit hole. They wrote songs for Diana Ross, Dolly Parton, Kenny Rogers, Dionne Warwick, and many more. The Bee Gees have 60+ years of music.
No one can harmonize like the Bee Gees ... product of growing up together and their bond no doubt.
How about The Carpenters?
The whole era really had some great vocals.
Barry, shortly after the death of Robin, said he would have given all their success and fame to have his brother back. Their bond was very strong, to say the least.
Love their harmonies too. The next closest to them are Carpenters and The Sylvers. Both have beautiful harmonies and vocals that meshed so well, you don't know where one ends and begins, their harmonies are that flawless.
Your face when he hits that note tho .... he did make it seem so effortless
“To Much Heaven”. Barry’s falsetto is incredible!!
All 3
"Fanny, Be Tender with My Love"......incredible vocals by them
I agree superb singing .
Bee Gees is a rabbit hole worth the trip! Their melodies and harmonies have this beautiful way of up lifting. Great to see your music journey expanding!
Barry Gibbs falsetto is unreal and makes him a vocal god
I grew up in a house filled with all different types of music, and The Bee Gees was always on everyones playlist. It's awesome that you have discovered them.
They are the masters of HARMONIES!!!!!! More Bee Gees for sure!!!! I’m a metal/rock person too, but I have a soft spot for the harmonies of the 70’s…. Keep discovering those oldies Aileen!!!!!! Glad to see you back and hope you’re doing well 😊😊😊😊😊….
Best group ever! Wrote over 1000 songs over a 40 plus year career! Too much Heaven, Nights on Broadway, Night Fever, Fanny be tender with my love, More than a Woman. 3 brothers from the UK singing together since little kids. Barry was lead on this one. Twins Robin and Maurice took the deeper parts. Their story is amazing as they've had their share of triumph and tragedies. Live recommendation would be Medley Australia 1987 or 89. Can't remember offhand. Includes 60s, 70s and 80s songs. 😊
So music was very segregated in the 70s. Rock and Roll people (me) and dance music people (not me).I was a rock guy, Zepplin, AC/DC, Boston, Bruce, Petty etc. Sat night fever came out (huge John Travolta Disco movie). I drove 30 min out of town to see it, lol. Didn't want my friends seeing me watching disco. Fantastic song, amazing movie, great sound track. This was from the sound track. Anyway, Bee Gees were biggest selling band in the 70's and this might have been their biggest hit. Homework, go watch Saturday Night Fever and enjoy
I grew up in the 70s and have taken this wonderful group for granted. They ARE magical! Thank you, Bee Gees! 🥰
So glad you found it. It is really nice to see another generation discovering our music. Shoutout from this old, longhaired, hippy rocker dude in Gatlinburg, Tennessee. Much peace, love, and happiness to you this summers day, Aileen. See ya on the next. Later, doll.
80's Metal head, and The Brothers Gibb are LEGENDS for a reason! They wrote and did background vocals for the Amazing hit song EMOTION with lead singer Samantha Sang!
I’m MetalHead🤘🏻 But lately I’ve been listening to some old school throwback music that my Mom listens to from 70s to 80s & I love it. Stayin’ Alive is another amazing Iconic track to listen to🕺
The Barry Gibb/Barbara Streisand duet “What Kind Of Fool” is very nice …especially the live version✨
Great reaction! A few of my favorite Bee Gees, there are so many but I think you would enjoy “Too Much Heaven”, “Fanny Be Tender With My Love”, “Love You Inside Out”, “Nights On Broadway”. Enjoy, you can’t go wrong with these brothers.
Great suggestions
These guys literally owned the charts in the mid to late 70’s.
True Metalheads like us, actually can admire and love all kinds of music. I grew up on 80's metal and still am a Metalhead. You would have loved MTV's Headbangers Ball that used to play on Friday and Saturday nights at midnight! Jammed out so much! Keep on rockin'! The Bee Gees are smooth as glass.
There were no studio tricks with their harmonies. They were that good. I grew up with this music and went on to be a musicion and recording engineer. Talent like this is hard to find these days.
I love them singing Too Much Heaven
Too much Heaven will blow your mind. Barry kills it in that song. Also they wrote all their own songs, and tons for other singers.
This is my childhood basically. My brothers and I spun this record among many others daily. Too Much Heaven must be next please. Amazing song. Love your channel.
Yes, I danced to this. 8th grade with my girlfriend, Barbara.
I danced to this song in the 70's on a lit dance floor. Aileen I would have danced with you to this song had you been there. It was truly magical. I miss those times...
I'm 67 and it's been a privilege seeing reactions from young people of this generation like you. Enjoying one of the greatest artists of all time.
Many nights dancing to this, on the dimly lit dance floor, with the mirrored ball turning. Great times.
Aileen, You're pure magic, just continue on this way, with great music songs and Yours Fantastic presence. Thanks for giving such joy
Aww! This my dads favorite song he loves playing this while we take a drive or when we’re fishing this brings back all the happy memories I had As a child thank you for reacting I now have tears of joy right now
It was the reaction we needed. Nice change of pace.
To counterbalance the metalheads who have commented :), I was heavily into country rock/outlaw country during the 70's. But seriously, no matter what kind of music you like how can you not love the BeeGees? They truly defined the era.
Love You Inside and Out is one of my favorite Bee Gees songs. Dont sleep on it. Its 🔥
For a little Bee Gees funk check out "Nights on Broadway" live. They were inspired by the funk music coming out of Philadelphia in the early seventies. The first appearance of Barry's falsetto is on the studio recording. Live however Maurice (pronounced Morris) sings the falsetto parts. The Midnight Special performance is my favorite.
WOW!!! Were has the time gone.....Disco was in during mid to late 70s and the bee gees were big time.......We would dance and dringk all night long and not gain a pound ...Many time would dance till the early morning hours.........Long ago and far away...
I was in high school when this music was big in the 1970s and I definitely slow danced with my girl at the school dances to this song. I was also a hard rock and roller and secretly loved Bee Gees;
The end of 70' s is iconic time, the disco sound in each dance club, the beeges is a iconic band of this time, each song is a big hit, is a great song
I love that thing she does with her right eye brow!
A beautiful song and appreciated fully by a lovely lady, this is wonderful to watch.
I remember when the Bee Gees re-emerged with the disco era of the mid-late 70's along with the movie Saturday Night Fever.
They originally started out being called The Brothers Gibb which morphed into the Bee Gees.
Criminal shame how often these brothers are dismissed because they are disco. They are so talented and really paint a soulful picture for the listeners.
Too much heaven ❤
I always associated the Bee Gees with disco music, so I was insanely surprised when o heard the song To Love Somebody, by them. I’ve heard a few other songs of theirs that divert from that disco style that I had linked with them.
Yeah this is a slow dance classic. That bass, the effortless falsetto. 🖤
I didn’t dance to this but I saw two beautiful pro dancers dance to this, and it reminded me that I’m missing love right now in my life, but those two dancers gave me chills ❤
Great choice to dive into. You're going to love Nights on Broadway and Fanny Be Tender With My Love
I was about 15 years of age at the Royal Easter Show in Sydney Australia ,, Lots of side shows including one for Australia's Bandstand .. many aussie pop singers on show including these 3 skinny kids with thier squeaky voices belting out thier song.. Yep ' the BeeGee's ... who would have thought they would go on to achieve the fame they have .. .
The BEE GEES , How deep is your love, is like a tall glass of Water to the soul. this is one of the most ICONIC song all times.
Yep, we sure did dance to this and others. We called these types of songs "love songs" and they sure did set a romantic atmosphere for dances, dates, or just driving around.
My first time watching one of your vids. I’m a 63 yr old lady and clicked cause I LOVE The Bee Gees ! I could tell you actually felt the music and that gets huge respect from me! Much love from Texas! 💜💖💜
You should watch Saturday Night Fever….love The Bee Gees 🙏🏻❤️
Oh man.. girl can dance.. shall we :) Everyone danced to the BeeGees back in the day!. Many, many couples were put together with these tunes. Cheers
The rabbit hole is immense!! Bodyguard, Nights On Briadway, Fanny Be Tender, Love Me, Emotion .... you'll thank us later, stay blessed!! 😊
Awe yeah, baby makin music. Lol
Great reaction.
AUDIOSLAVE COCHISE
WHITE SNAKE: STILL OF THE NIGHT
SOUNDGARDEN: Outshine
WHITE ZOMBIE: THUNDER KISS, when you get a chance.
You’re beautiful and awesome 😎
Keep it up 👍
A lot of babies were conceived during the playing of this song in the 70's.
Yes I danced to this Song in High School. Looking back at it it was so sickenly sweet and I miss those days lol
This is awesome that you're reacting to this! You emote such genuine emotion in your reaction! Music has no bounds and will always keep evolving. Music is NEVER out of fashion. New sub here from Hi Ren and your channel! Much ❤ from Waukesha Wisconsin!
Such an iconic band .. The trio of brothers were all born singers z 😀👍
They been singing together since they were little. They are brothers YOU know!!!!! YOU have a long way to go, not a bad sing at all!!!!! HAVE FUN!!!!!!!!!
What an absolute beautiful lady, I love the bee gees
Love the Bee Gees! They had a few hits in the 60s (I Started a Joke, Words and Massachusetts) . The Disco Era revitalized the careers with Saturday Night Fever, Stayin' Alive, Too Much Heaven and More than a Woman. Guilty with Barbra Streisand & Barry is a must as well as Heartbreaker with Dionne Warwick and The Bee Gees. A 4th brother and the youngest Andy Gibbs went solo and produced some great songs: Shadow Dancing, I Just want to be Your Everything, An Every Lasting Love and Don't Throw it all Away.
They have a very long playlist of hits, they had hits from the sixties through the seventies! Sold 220 million records!
I remember being a kid growing up in the mid 90s & the BeeGees One Night Only concert came on the public tv station on a Saturday night. I was so enthralled with the music that I begged my folks to let me stay up late and watch the whole concert. They told me that I could stay up and that this music was popular when they were in school back in the 70s. Some of my favorite songs of theirs are: Grease(they wrote it & Frankie Valli sang it for the movie but they sang it in the concert I mentioned earlier), Staying Alive, Jive Talking and You Should Be Dancing. Again I highly recommend their One Night Only concert, that will have all of the songs to listen to. Enjoy ! !
Just found your channel. I just love your reaction to this song. The Bee Gees makes me feel so good inside with a sense of peace no matter the song. Just a few suggestions. To Love Somebody, Too Much Heaven, How Do You Mend a Broken
Heart , Lonely Days, Jive Talking, You Should Be Dancing, This is Where I Came in. Oops I got carried away! Seriously these guys have over 1,000 in their catalogue. The journey is awesome!
The Bee Gees were brothers from the UK and also lived in Australia. They were huge in the 70s and early 80s.
I'm an old school rocker who literally grew up just a mile away from the club where "Saturday Night Fever" was filmed . And now in hindsight , I can really appreciate the Bee Gee's songs on that sound track & how well the songs were performed as well as constructed but at that time I despised them , that album in particular & the whole "lifestyle" thing that grew out of the disco years . On the streets of Brooklyn where I lived , it was tough , all the girls loved their disco music & any girls into rock music seemed to be way to few & far between . It truly sucked & I would proudly wear my Grateful Dead tee that had 'Disco Sucks ! PLAY DEAD !" very often 🙂........ Just sharing some old time memories ;-)
I found your Channel looking for Bee Gees reactions. I graduated High School in 1982 so I danced to this Bee Gees Song and others at my school dances including at Prom and Parties and also Skated to the Song at the Skating Rink
A staple of high school dances and " all night skates" at the local skating rinks back in the late 70s. I remember this stuff well as a kid.
Barry, Robin & Maurice Gibb. I bet you’d love TOO MUCH HEAVEN. Or NIGHTS ON BROADWAY live on the Midnight Special. There’s over 40yrs of hits to choose from.
Yes, they are awesome, amazing voice, Barry gibb....also Andy gibb..back in the 70's....
This song gives me goosebumps its so damn good ...i grew up with this beautiful music and they dont just sing love songs about women....they sing To women !!!! It hits you in your soul...
Bee Gees have one of the best harmonies and Barry’s falsetto is the best. You should react to Love So Right. Another great slow song. Love You Inside Out is one of my favorites. I’m 57 years old and so glad to see younger generations appreciate the music I grew up listening to. God bless 🙏🏽
Love you inside out is a hidden bee gees hit.
ME ME ME!!!!! I will so gladly slow dance with you. I would slow dance, fast dance, square, or tap dance if I had to, as long as I could get that dance. Great reaction as always.
1 of 6 #1's in a row back in 1977 to 1979. Plus, their younger brother Andy had 3 #1's in a row at the same time period.
Bee Gee's pull you in like this with every song. They have such a connection with there music I feel they want you to feel it too..
Oh yes. Please more of the Beegees. In generell I listen more to harder stuff. They are genius though. Love them. You should listen to too much heaven indeed. Lovely. ❤
bee gees love you inside out
I'm 30. I loved Bee Gees since I was in elementary school. Bee Gees and Metallica were my dads fave... he would always play these 2 bands every day. Up till this day he is still playing the songs..
Jr high school dance circa 1978 dancing to this song, oh the memories me and Cheryl
The best things about some of these old love song is, they sung about love. Unapologetically, directedly in your grill. They were uncompromising about their commitment to LOVE. There was no 'ho' this or that, it was just kind, and loving. What a concept for a love song.
too much heaven please! 🔥
Great reaction to a great song! 👏 I love rock'n roll, heavy metal and prog rock, but I also love the way these guys sing and some of their songs - hits from the Disco Era: "I started a joke"; "Stayin' alive"; "Tragedy"; "Too much heaven"; "You should be dancing".
They were so big back in the day, it's great that they're being rediscovered, I suggest that you react, 'Too Much Heaven' next and then, 'You Should be Dancing' as it shows you the opposite side to them.
The BeeGees were: the tallest and oldest brother (with the big hair and beard), Barry Gibb, born September 1, 1946, the only surviving Gibb brother. Robin Gibb (with the long hair, no beard), born December 22, 1949-passed away May 20, 2012, and Robin's fraternal twin brother Maurice (the balding brother with the beard, pronounced "Morris") Gibb, born December 22, 1949-passed away January 12, 2003. They also had another, younger, brother Andy Gibb, born March 5, 1958-passed away March 10, 1988.
The three oldest brothers were born on the Isle of Man (UK). Oldest brother Barry got seriously burned when he accidentally pulled boiling tea over himself at 18 months old. He was in coma for a while, nearly died and was in hospital for many months. Because of this, he did not learn to talk until after the twins were born. Later the family moved to Manchester and from there they emigrated to Australia in 1958, right after Andy was born.
All 4 brothers are just natural musical talents. All of them dropped out of high school in their early teens and none of them could read or write music. All their compositions were created completely organically.
Their musical career, which they had started as little kids, didn't lead to international success so they moved back to the UK in 1966. Then they had a string of big hits, until they temporarily broke up around 1970 for 15 months. Started back up, looking for a new sound which they first found in 1974 with the transitional album "Mr. Natural". After that "Main Course" was the first album that moved them into a new direction: more rhythm&blues, dance music like with great hits like Nights on Broadway and Jive Talkin' (and was also actually the first album on which their logo was introduced).
From 1976 on they went all out with falsetto driven dance music which lead to their biggest commercial success as they provided classic songs for the Saturday Night Fever Soundtrack (1977 Stayin' Alive, How Deep is Your Love, Night Fever amongst them). You should react to the 1979 live version of Stayin' Alive, too ruclips.net/video/7niXSh7vWRI/видео.html Other great songs to analyze: great album tracks from the 1979 Spirits Having Flown album, the title song: ruclips.net/video/WH_j90fCIk4/видео.html, the outrageously beautiful song Reaching Out ruclips.net/video/vfHUS5Mf00Q/видео.html. From their Still Waters album, Smoke and MIrrors: ruclips.net/video/MT9vRHSWNbk/видео.html. From the 1960's I've gotta get a message to you ruclips.net/video/CA4CInDnTk8/видео.html. And from the 1990's the simple song Blue Island live in an accoustic version: ruclips.net/video/162GlAEpfrY/видео.html.
Bee Gees, 1967 "Words." One of their best. They first appeared singing on TV as teenagers in the early 60's.
They grew up and formed near where I live and people who knew them say their mum drilled them constantly in singing vocal techniques.
Perfect music for roller skating rink with lights low and disco lights spinning.
The bee gees mean the brothers gibb . They where from Manchester uk and moved to Australia then came back to make stardom. Saturday night fever was their masterpiece in the seventies ( great film stars John travolta as the main man)
Too Much Heaven by the Bee Gees will make you cry haha...Bee Gees = Brothers Gibb..Too Much Heaven is an awesome tune to get what you said you wanted
Aileen a beautiful reaction and can i say a beautiful lady .the bee gees originally born in my home city Manchester england but they where true artists and entertainment love from me ❤❤❤❤.
Too Much Heaven
Staying Alive
You owe it to yourself love to check those two out.
It was a great song and you had a great reaction to it. Plus, you're looking good, girl.
Yeah The Bee Gees have some great tunes
Beauty full song thanks to my abuelo who introduced me to this lovely music and many many more styles
I was in 3rd grade when this came out, it's was definitely school dance music.
I was a teenager during these years. Omg what a great time to be a teanager in love during this era. 🖤
This is the kind of music that feeds your soul. I'm a metalhead as well, but sometimes it's nice to just chill with music like this!
