The beautiful and unique thing about the Bee Gees are their voices sound lke musical instruments and compliment the actual musical instruments in a magical fusion of the two .....Night Fever is another one of their classic songs
Thanks for your reaction. The BeeGees were: the tallest and oldest brother (with the big hair and beard), Barry Gibb, born September 1, 1946, the only surviving Gibb brother. Robin Gibb (with the long hair, no beard), born December 22, 1949-passed away May 20, 2012, and Robin's fraternal twin brother Maurice (the balding brother with the beard, pronounced "Morris") Gibb, born December 22, 1949-passed away January 12, 2003. They also had another, younger, brother Andy Gibb, born March 5, 1958-passed away March 10, 1988. The three oldest brothers were born on the Isle of Man (UK). Oldest brother Barry got seriously burned when he accidentally pulled boiling tea over himself at 18 months old. He was in coma for a while, nearly died and was in hospital for many months. Because of this, he did not learn to talk until after the twins were born. Later the family moved to Manchester and from there they emigrated to Australia in 1958, right after Andy was born. All 4 brothers are just natural musical talents. All of them dropped out of high school in their early teens and none of them could read or write music. All their compositions were created completely organically. Their musical career, which they had started as little kids, didn't lead to international success so they moved back to the UK in 1967. Then they had a string of big hits, until they temporarily broke up around 1970 for 15 months. Started back up, looking for a new sound which they first found in 1974 with the transitional album "Mr. Natural". After that "Main Course" was the first album that moved them into a new direction: more rhythm&blues, dance music like with great hits like Nights on Broadway and Jive Talkin' (and was also actually the first album on which their logo was introduced). From 1976 on they went all out with falsetto driven dance music which lead to their biggest commercial success as they provided classic songs for the Saturday Night Fever Soundtrack (1977 Stayin' Alive, How Deep is Your Love, Night Fever amongst them). You should react to the 1979 live version of Stayin' Alive, too ruclips.net/video/7niXSh7vWRI/видео.html Other great songs to analyze: great album tracks from the 1979 Spirits Having Flown album, the title song: ruclips.net/video/WH_j90fCIk4/видео.html, the outrageously beautiful song Reaching Out ruclips.net/video/vfHUS5Mf00Q/видео.html. Andy was kind of Barry's mini me, about half a foot shorter and 12 years younger but they were the only lefties of the family. However, his voice was nowhere near as broad in range or as strong as Barry's. As producer Alby Galuten said in the book "Tales of the brothers Gibb "Andy's falsetto was nowhere near Barry's." Andy had a lower, huskier, sound to his voice and his range was not as big as Barry's. I personally always thought his voice was much better suited to songs of his first album, Flowing Rivers. Andy died of myocarditis - which is an inflammation of the heart - on March 10, 1988, 5 days after his 30th birthday. His heart had been weakened by his drug addiction over the years which, by the way, was also the main reason for his split from Victoria Principal. Lovely reaction Ola, it's so nice to see young people discovering these incredibly talented singer/songwriters from the golden age of popular music. For us boomers we grew up with them in the 60's & 70's. Their music is immortal & so beautifully genuine, it touches your heart & soul like no other. Some more suggestions: You should be dancing, Robin singing lead on his big hit - I started a joke, How can you mend a broken heart, Fanny be tender, Nights on Broadway, Tragedy & For whom the bell tolls, enjoy the journey!
Reminds me of my 9th grade crush in 1978. She was the most beautiful thing I had ever seen, and this song highlighted every 14-year-old emotion I had of her. I wonder where she is now :)
I know you say you'll pick out the most requested song from The Bee Gees to listen to next, but I'm telling you. If you really want to hear the best song Robin ever sang, you need to listen to I started a joke. It is one of the greatest songs. Ever and Robin was the lead for that whole song. The emotion of that song. You'll be crying as much as you love. Robin when you hear him sing that song it'll make you cry it's that beautiful.
One of a long list of very beautiful songs by the brothers. "For Whom The Bell Tolls", "Wedding Day", "Tears", "My Lover's Prayer", just to name a few. The list goes on. And that's not mentioning their pre-Saturday Night Fever, early stuff.
You wanna hear Robin's vocals, go back in time to 1967. Massachusetts, I Started A Joke, I've Got to get a message to you. Those are prior to the disco era. Phenomenal. Beautiful voice by far
I also wanted to add in the 80s Robin had some awesome solo albums. Secret Agent, How old are you, and Walls have Eyes. Some of his best later music were Juliet, Toys, You don't say us anymore, also with the beegees he sings lead on lovers, love me, tokyo nights, and if you really want a hot song. Take a listen to Bodyguard. Omg Robin as sexiest
@@Zlata1313 It's relevant when most prob think a solo Gibb album would be written solely by them, which isn't true....even though they're all prolific songwriters.
my most favorite songs of all time back in 1977 I was playing varsity football California on the beach high school🏈…this song was playing in the background somebody’s radio.. just get ready to play our football game…. Friday night🏈.. awesome memories…I’m in my 60s
Great reaction The brothers Gib absolutely phenomenal talented guys, no auto tune in them days, just pure talent, Robins vocals in the song ( I Started A Joke ) are phenomenal and another song ( For Whom The Bell Tolls) check them out Robins voice is amazing! Great reaction thanks!
these were the songs of the 70's and early 80's. the disco time, you have seen the john travolta at the disco, it was like that for us, as teen's, we would have the friday saturday disco, where boys and girls, danced together, There were also the bigger venues, 7 till 10 in the bi place for was 11 to 17 years, 3 hours disco, soft drink, every driday after school, from 10pm, it went to the nightclub disco for 18 year olds and over, like you would have seen in saturday night fever, not only that, its was a weekly, get dressed in best clothes, boys and girls, i met my wife at the disco on ice in 1982, prior to that had a few girlfriends from the disco, 182, disco was loosing its charm as different fashion came along, new type of music,
It's fun when young people discover the music of my youth We rode around in cars and played it on 8 track. Sending love to you young lady, All the best, Thomas
More proof, that everything great comes out of England. The North West especially. Now even though the family moved to Australia in the 1950's. I'm still proud, that they are/were of *English Stock.* ha ha ha
But Aussies keep claiming them as theirs. Annoying tbh. They only spent 9 years in Australia. Barry, in fact, spent most of his childhood in the British Isles. They were actually born on the Isle of Man but their parents were English born. Still Brits, though, as Manx people are Brit citizens.
My recommendation for next Bee Gees reaction is For Whom the Bell Tolls. You will see them more mature, as this music was released about 16 years after the one you just reacted.
"We're living in a world of fools, breaking us down, when they all should let us be -- we belong to you and me" -- an obscure line that is so profound and brilliant it speaks to us today.
The Saturday Night Fever movie came out at the height of the disco era. This song is one of the all-time great slow dance songs. At every party I went to at that time, this song was a 'must play' so everyone would get a chance to slow dance with their honey.
This awesome song was first brought up the idea and melody by Barry with the keyboardist Blue Weaver in France...of course later released in together with the talented twins...🎉❤ they were really gave us so much fun in the music🎉❤
Grew up with the 70-80s music! Bee Gees sometimes didn’t get the credit that was due to them. It took awhile and now generations can see these are true special musical artists. They are legends!
For a time no one..NO one..beat the Bee Gees. And today they are as great as they ever were. God bless them and RIP to the twins. They were at their height Id say in 78. Yeah! Join the Robin crowd. One reactor said, "Don't let these guys anywhere near your girl friends!" LOL Maurice gets overlooked. Check him out singing Lay It On Me, on the Midnight Special (you will love Robin in that one). Maurice has such a twinkle in his eye.
It's sad, yet beautiful to witness the emotional response of a younger generation exposed to real music. This era of music was when gifted musicians shared moments of the human experience. This type of music can resonate with many people. "Much" of the music today seems to be regurgitated ideas, resampled phrases, digitally altered voices through auto tune, all attached to an industry proven catchy beat conveying sheer nonsense for profit. There is so little good music produced anymore.
Barry, Robin Maurice & Andy the baby.... Barry was typically lead singer. No bad songs. They have 100's of songs.. madlyvin love with Barry & Andy when I was young. Barry is my favorite ❤
Their One Night Only show in Las Vegas shows what true musicians, showmen, and songwriters they are. Their catalog of great songs is simply huge, and remember these guys were making these harmonies long before autotune and pitch correction were a thing. They have so many great songs that they abbreviated many into a medley for runtime. Another little known fact is Barry was having severe back pain when he did that show that made his signature falsetto's very difficult and just doing the show a test of his endurance. You can look at so many artists album credits and on so many you will find a Gibb on it somewhere as a writer, arranger, or producer. They were hit machines. I think the only time they missed the mark badly was the theme song for Grease since it does not at all have a 1950's sound to it, but damn, its still a great song and that same comment could be made for Olivia's Hopelessly Devoted.
Well done for picking up on the beautiful string arrangement! - I’ve watched a few reactions to this song & (understandably on first or second listen) no one ever comments on that. For a recommendation, I think you would enjoy their hit single ‘Run to me’, from before the disco era. Cheers
Great reaction vid, you should check out the song Night Fever, a great song also. They wrote a lot of the music for a movie called "Saturday Night Fever" starring John Travolta... Defo worth checking out. 👍
This probably in my 50p 5 faves ... when I was a tween my crush was there younger brother Andy but as an adult it was Maurice esp when he wore his hat & short beard 🥰
Other greats BG songs:Alone,To Love Somebody,How Cand You Mend A Broken Heart(Live),Run To Me,Nights On Broadway,I Gotta Get A Message To You,You Win Again,Secret Love,Holiday,I Started I Joke,Night Fever. Greetings from Argentina 🖐
Robin often sang lead and often sang lead with Barry either alternating or simultaneously as in this song. Although very different voices, when Barry and Robin sang together it was hard to tell them apart. Maurice always found the perfect third harmony and was the brother who put Barry's and Robin's melodies (and his own as well) to music. If you listen to Robin's iconic "I started a joke" I think the best version was the "One for all" tour in Melbourne in 1989. Some others he sang lead, "Bodyguard", "Juliet" (live in Berlin 1991), "I can't see nobody (Midnight Special), "Black Diamond", "Country Lanes", "Massachusetts", "And the sun will shine". He usually sang ballads as they best suited his inimitable voice. "Fallen angel" and "Hold on to my love" are more upbeat. He was very eccentric and witty and always my favourite but no doubt all three brothers were stellar. They definitely were a gift.
"Sexy Ass",Kkkkkk lol...irmãos Bee Gees nasceram para abrilhantar nossas vidas...triste que Maurice e Robin ja nos deixaram e voltaram para onde, antes estavam...
I love it when the younger generations refer to this as "true music"

It's sad, yet beautiful to witness the emotional response of a younger generation exposed to real music. This era of music was when gifted musicians shared moments of the human experience. This type of music can resonate with many people. "Much" of the music today seems to be regurgitated ideas, resampled phrases, digitally altered voices through auto tune, all attached to an industry proven catchy beat conveying sheer nonsense for profit. There is so little good music produced anymore.
its just music as we love
Barry, Robin Maurice & Andy the baby.... Barry was typically lead singer. No bad songs. They have 100's of songs.. madlyvin love with Barry & Andy when I was young. Barry is my favorite ❤
the smile and googly eyes when robin is first highlighted is adorable....
I love seeing ur reaction when u listen to these guys! You smile so big! Goes to show, u have great taste in music and in men!!!
Truly "true music"
Amo tus reacciones, sos muy dulce 😍😍😍
If you are interested in hearing Robin sing lead and something later on you should try For Whom the Bell Tolls or Bodyguard 9:05
RIP Andy, Maurice, and Robin Gibb.😢😢😢

"Sexy Ass",Kkkkkk lol...irmãos Bee Gees nasceram para abrilhantar nossas vidas...triste que Maurice e Robin ja nos deixaram
e voltaram para onde,antes estavam...
Brasil i love you
They also wrote so many other songs for People that they could have done themselves. Go check it out. Peace ✌️
