This is so true! Growing up, I was always labelled as 'too mature' for my age and I always (and still often) had/have a problem with hanging out with people my age. Trying to relate to conversations that seem so meaningless and insignificant and being judged because of my interests, feeling lost. Those are just some of the things. But there are many perks of being an old soul! For example-we get to experience life differently and enjoy little things that others tend to overlook. So be proud of who you are because you're awesome :)
My parents always say that they wish I could act my age (going down in 'years'). They also say that I became mature too quickly. That's uh... hard to hear.

I think you're kind of right. If I were to reveal myself to somebody about where my personality comes from, about who I really am, and how people don't even know a 5% of who I really am, I think it would all start with deep in depth conversations about meaningful topics.
But, I have to struggle daily with a basic social cosntructed personality in order to not deal with social anxiety by fitting with the rest of my age group, the ignorant 2000's Gen Z.

I was an "old soul" as a child. My parents were not divorced, but my dad was a stressed workaholic. As a kid I was more interested in ideas than small talk, I had a small group of friends, I related better with adults than kids in my teenage years, and at 38, I'm still single.
I can relate to this. Im almost 21 and I`ve never been in a relationship, I guess guys see me as boring. I mean I don`t blame them I dislike parties, drinking, random unplanned trips and stuff like that. My work and mental stability are my top priorities, they always come first. But what really worries me is that I don`t find anyone as suitable relationship material. Handsome? Sure. But do I really want to interact with them? Not really and I find hook ups waste of time. I`m not into older people so ...yeah. Does anyone else have this problem ?
This video kind of annoyed me. The idea of people being too mature for there age is obviously an interesting topic and a lot of people, myself included, can feel that way. However, near the end it was talking about 'past life' bullshit. Its OK to believe in that if you want, but it was talking like old souls tap into these past memories and experiences. I think its safe to say old souls aren't immortals who can live many lives and retain memories of them. I know that he said it was 'debunked by science' in the video, but then why talk about the fictitious parts as if they are facts.

I was thinking the exact same thing. Most of the facts I could relate to but the explanation for said facts with the past lives just made question the whole thing. It has lost credibility in my eyes.
I am not balked by the reincarnation theory (I believe in spiritual myself) but I agree with you that since this is a scientific and not a spiritual channel they should keep the content scientific (or at least leave a disclaimer that it is OOT or something). But the part when 'old souls' is caused by getting mature too quickly because of childhood/past circumstances (parent's divorce, rough childhood, emotional trauma) make sense. I have a friend who is like that, he's much younger than me but we clicked so well and he's way mature beyond his age.
yukishakura I agree. It's just annoying that all we have learned from the video is that people can be very mature for their age for reasons. It's almost like they run out of things to say about it psychologically so they turned it spiritual.

((im seeing more and more about eating disorders... im starting to think i actually have one. it may sound underwhelming, but its called small appetite. my doctor told me i had one, and it means if i dont like something, i wont eat it under almost any circumstances. i once didnt like the meal my family was serving and threw up because hunger and lots of heat[i was running around playing] can make you sick.

I'm just 14 but when I was a kid I made tons of mistakes, learned the behavioral patterns of the people around me because I don't want to make mistakes anymore, and I became wiser and gloomier, so my friends always asks me for advice and, they always seems so satisfied when I give my response.(I didn't have a childhood)
I got bullied most of my life. In and out of foster care. I lived with my grandma most of times but at times I remember being with my mom but she had issues with substances & depression.

Lmao my mom always told me I was an old soul. I never liked being around kids my age because I've always thought them to be very immature (in most cases, my thoughts were correct). Their type of fun and MY type of fun are two very different things. Let's say, my younger second cousin wants to play a war game; I want to play with pencils and paper, because I dislike the idea of imitating something so awful as war, regarding it as "play." I also never realized that most "pseudomature" people come from broken families. I had written a poem, and in a few of the lines it went: "You either grew up / Or you died trying." I had to grow up faster than most of my peers because I needed the maturity to cope with my problems. Thank you for the video!

Im very young but people think im way older than i really am. And i myself also had to take the adult initiative with my family many times, hence me raising some of my siblings. I also can hang out with adults way better than people around my age since they're immaturity gets annoying, sometimes it up to the point where they're just ignorant and don't think logically

i personally hang out more with younger people, because i can teach them something about. also i don't have much good experiences with adults like my parents/aunts etc even my oldest cousin. they think that i'm just weird. for example i like to wear old clothes (like from 50s, 70s even older style) and my mother just can't get it as many people can't. my all old soul thing also isn't much in my mature behaviour. i can be very energetic and playful sometimes and can hang out with anybody but i prefer loneliness because many people can't understand me at all when it comes to fashion sense, world view, lifestyle and thinking.

My brother-in-law is an old soul. I never understood the term at first until I watched this video and MAN... he is certainly something. Young English/German man in his mid/late 20s. Calls boys/men "ole chap" and girls/women "love" or "poppet."
He's an introvert, loves reading the paper early on Monday mornings, watches the NEWS, has an entire schedule set out that he occasionally switches up, and he's madly obsessed with coffee. Oh yes, he's a barista, and he literally bathes in it.
He's also a pacifist and Buddhist as well. Very kindhearted and a wonderful caregiver. Animal lover and all. He loves jazz, classical and blues with an occasional rock/metal soundtrack here and there.
It's extremely rare that he swears and at the most it's a "bloody hell" or "dammit." He's very open minded and has an astonishing smile that could change the world. My brother-in-law is one of the nicest people I know and he's definitely an old soul.

if anyone was wondering, everyone and everything is an old soul, its just amnesia. matter cannot be created or destroyed so you all have been "alive" in the spirit forever. in the physical these are simple 3 dimensional bodies we animate. souls arent just from us and animals it can be from light and anything else at all. in my opinon life is everything in the universe since the universe IS everything.

When my mom was pregnant with me she had her own physical therapist (or something idk). The therapist told my mother she would have a difficult time with me because I had an old, stubborn soul. Come to find out, I was technically supposed to be born on March 31 but I refused to be birthed naturally (I guess I was so comfortable lol), so my mother had to have her 1st c-section. To this day, I'm still as stubborn when I was an infant. Though I didn't quite relate to some of the things about a old soul (that is if I'm truly one), I do find that I have a difficult time with relationships. It might be because of my age, but who knows.. anyway thanks for reading my rant :>

I've always been told I'm an old soul and I believe it in one way or another. I wated to sit around and listen to the grown ups chat instead of playing with the other kids. There was nothing broken about my home, and I'm the youngest so it's not like I had to grow up fast, I just did. I want to leave some sort of legacy behind, that's really my main goal in life. I was adopted at birth after that and because of my adoptive dad's job in the Navy, I moved a lot, and never really learned how to establish relationships. Now I'm almost 19 and my parents divorced this year, and I'm living with my dad, who again, I never really got to know, while my adoptive mom (who I always fought with and held a mutual lack of understanding) is moving to Oregon. I learned to want love, and only the highest standard of it, since that's what I lacked. I have no siblings either, which made it harder. It's always been just me. This video is relatable.

I can relate a lot to this because as a child one of my favorite things to do was to visit my grandma at work and she worked in a retirement home i would always sit and chat with the elderly people and i loved to listen to the stories they tell and could just sit for hours and hours and talk to them and being around people my own age is draining

When I was 5 I distinctly remember having a dream that made so much sense to me. In the dream I saw myself but older and like a celestial being but I looked really different. I was talking to someone but no one was there just the stars. I was talking about how it was my time to go back again and that I had plans for this lifetime. That in this lifetime I would be faced with a lot of different pressures from my family but that I was going to be strong and determined and make a difference in the world. I remember a bright light and then I had woken up... and ever since I've had that dream I've been convinced that I've lived many lives and that I would make sure to make each one of them count. It just seems like a pretty random dream for a 5 year old to have with that much detail.

There are so many 20 something singles out there. Find an Old soul like yourself. But yeah, Millennials have forgotten the meaning of commitment and long-term love, stable marriage etc. They're into temporary 'chit chatting' only just to feel their 'emptiness' temporarily. I am also an old soul. I am 23 and I do not like older women who are more than 26 years old. I prefer women at around my age, the younger ones just ignore my existence. I dont imagine Kurt or Amy in a boring office or any other normal work (is there any other work than office? No) because they are too mental and have emotional disorders. I dont imagine Marilyn Monroe either. Shes not 27 generation but has the same problem. If they were not celebrities, they would end up in a psychiatric hospital.
I consider myself to be an old soul. I'm engaged to someone older than me with whom I had been (distant) friends with for seven years prior. We don't want kids and my past relationships definitely weren't my greatest loves. I connect with my current partner more than anyone I've ever known. We both also have a desire for adventure and living life to the fullest! I feel very lucky to have truly found "my person".

I went through a drug addiction in my early teens and came out of it in my late teens with a state of mind of someone older than me because I had gone through many experiences very young and reflected and learned from them very early I guess, even before the drug addiction people would say I was very wise and I never got along with people my age but older people always seemed fond of me. I think the old soul might just be someone who is born very observant of everyday life and intuitive rather than just running around having fun like most kids and even adults.
When I was borned, I didn't cried, my mom was like "Why dosen't he cry?!" then the nurse "What? Why would you want him to cry?" ; "Because he is my son who just got borned! All new-born babies cry!" ; "Fine, fine..." then she lightly slaped ma butt (lol) and then, all I said was in a baby boy voice "Meh."
I was raised by a single parent , this explains why I am an old soul !
