Which new generation machine are you liking more, the Power Mig 260 or the Millermatic 255? And why
I asked our engineer Andrew who is in the video...his answer was the Miller 252 or Miller 255. He said both are good machines but that would be his personal preference over the Lincoln PowerMIG 260. The Miller does have the ability to be taken off the cart and taken in the back of a vehicle much easier. I have an old Millermatic 251 with VERY little hours of use as long as I've had it. Inside is dirty because the fan was on all the time. The newer MIllermatic 252's now have fan-on demand, so that is GREAT!!! I see this Lincoln Power Mig, fan is on ALL the time and 2 fans also!!! So I'm wondering if it'll get as dirty as my 251 did :(
metalmanhawaii yeah that’s a good question, I wonder in the months or years if we’ll see/hear about problems like that. Only time will tell, I don’t see why Lincoln didn’t do some type of fan on demand system.

is this a transformer unit? or an inverter? and does this machine not have fan on demand??? it was running the entire time?
songer121 no one really makes transformer machines these days. No ones buying them. You can pull the manual off inter web. The fan did turn off listen close around 11:10
@songer121 it is an inverter. Not sure on the fan on demand! We will try to find out for you! :)
I followed up with our Lincoln Electric rep and the machine does not have "fan on demand." The manual says: Fan Control "The fan is designed to come on automatically when a weld arc is established. The fan will also stay on when the machine's welding and feeding are disabled during thermostatic over temperature protection"

The 256 does not have push/pull. How is this working?
This is the new Power MIG 260 ...You can get a push/pull gun for it. It is a Cougar® Push-Pull Welding Gun, Air Cooled K2704-2,-3
Nice machine but they missed the boat not adding pulse. Nice short circuit machine for body shop tho. The HTP Pro Pulse 300 eats this machine for breakfast.
You are comparing 2 welders that are not meant for the same maYou are comparing two welders meant for different markets
and different price ranges.
Mircea Rosca I’m not comparing anything If you read my comment 1. They missed the boat not adding pulse. 2. It’s a nice machine for a body shop. 3. For that amp and price range the HTP eats it for breakfast. Where do you see a comparing?
It’s a nice short circuit machine that’s all it is. How is it for a different market? A wire machine is a wire machine.

No one will agree here BUT I own a cheapie chinese mig welder and it does short circuit as good as if not better than lincoln mig welders at mu school... forgot its exact model lincoln 275? MP something like that

drumtwo4seven oh I believe you. You don’t need much for short circuit if that’s all you need then I agree with you. I use spray and pulse as well as aluminum double pulse. I think this Lincoln is a overpriced mp210.

Lincoln electric had good welding machines but by FAAAAAR the worst helmets ever !! I bought a viking 3500 and i regret my purchase soooooo much ! I wrote to the company and voiced my thoughts . All they were able to way was thay its there goal to make crappy products basically . NEVER WILL I BUY ANOTHER LINCOLN !!

Lincoln sucks; buy a Miller.
I've had Miller's for years. Just bought a Lincoln 260 it does just as good a job plus it's more user friendly for different people using it. I like it a lot. Thinking of getting one for home.
