    I bought the 252 over the 255 solely because of the screen i do not trust I won’t break it. I learned on the 252 and it is a solid machine but the pulsed mig was tempting.

    Another thing... dince connectors are small may consider it more big one 5/8.. if you running a long welds may destroy positive connector. I got experience at 211 miller at also 200 miller multimatic...mm

    Looks like a nice machine for heavier duty MIG welding (my 220 maxes out at 3/8” supposedly at a lower duty cycle, and no pulsed MIG.)

    • @imbrandon16
      @imbrandon16 5 лет назад +2

      I was going to go for the 220 for the ac, but it has a lower duty cycle across the board so I think I'm gonna get the multimatic 255, and then just get an everlast ac/DC tig box later down the line...

    I’m an aluminum shipyard welder who has used the xmt with spoolomatic 30a and optima box which is essential for changing voltage in the hole. Miller rep says in auto pulse heat and wire auto adjust by turning wire sped knob on spoolgun. This would be great if it works that slick. ...... Is this a soilid replacement for xmt? Thanks

    Its extremely heavy? Isn't it less than HALF the weight of the 252??

    • @BakersGas
      @BakersGas  5 лет назад

      Yes it is but 84 pounds is pretty heavy to pick up compared to say a Millermatic 211 which is about 38 pounds. On the 252 with the running gear it is never really picked up and is certainly less portable than this unit. Thanks for watching let us know if you have any other questions.

    How do you feel about the price. I'm in the market for a Multi process welder and would really like to get the Miller 255 but damn is it expensive

    • @BakersGas
      @BakersGas  5 лет назад +1

      If you are looking for a multiprocess welder you would want to look at the Multimatic 215 and 220. This 255 is a MIG only machine. If you are wanting to AC TIG weld aluminum that would be the 220. Which yes the 220 is at a higher price point but it can do everything. I put a link below to both. same here, i'm thining of going with the 220, i'm a young electrician apprentice, but i've been getting into welding lately, and i want my own machine to play with, we have miller 252 migs at work, and and a miller 150 tig/stick box, and an everlast 180 shitbox tig/stick welder which took a shit last week XD r.i.p. green machine, you will probably not be missed, until someone needs to work on some aluminum XD. but for buying my own personal machine i think i'm going to go with the 220, i can then use any process i want, and weld just about anything i would need to and more lol. 3 grand for every process and the ability to weld aluminum. or 2700 for a mig only... and the 220 is 120v/240v. i know the miller 252's at work are 240v only, idk about the 255 so keep that in mind.

    wow, alot smaller than the 252, we have 3 in the shop, don't know it that's a good thing because now you gotta buy or build a cart for this to haul your gas cylinder around... 252 has a rack and chain built into the back.

      They sell it with and without the EZ latch cart. Below is a link to the one with the cart. You can detach it from the cart very easily. Or if you bought the Millermatic 255 by itself you can always add the cart later. It is about $400 I linked that below as well. Thanks for watching!

      @@weldingjunkie Yea this wasn't covered in the video. I'm looking at an ad that says the 255 can do Mig, stick, Tig, Flux, and aluminum MIG. I'm fairly sure the 252 only does MIG, so this is a huge upgrade in versatility. I wonder if there are performance or duty cycle differences between a transformer based machine vs an inverter based machine.
