As someone who has lost 30 pounds and quit binging I can confirm that all your tips are extremely helpful! Prioritizing protein intake was definitely a game changer
yesterday i ate one piece of cake instead of the 3-4 pieces i normally would eat. i still felt a bit guilty but i was also proud of myself for not over eating like usual! :)
I still have my cravings but instead of 3-4 cookies I’ll eat one to satisfy that craving and then move along. I let myself go out to eat with my family and enjoy and tell myself this is only one meal I will not eat bad the whole day including dinner and then keep going the whole week. I eat healthy the whole day enjoy that dinner than go back to being healthy the rest of the week. It’s really helping me to enjoy myself and my process.
Yes girl sour cream and onion chips! But for me, my binges come in the form of pies, cakes, cupcakes, ice cream. Really anything, but sweets in particular. I completely ruin my workouts & progress with my binges. It definitely makes me feel guilt and shame afterwards especially being on RUclips documenting my fitness journey. It’s a dark and emotional part of my journey. I know for me, I don’t eat enough protein. I don’t drink enough water on a day to day and I have to be more mindful in the consumption of those two things. Thanks for this video! 🫶🏽
Thanks so much for sharing! There's no perfect fitness journey, and the fact that you're documenting your own story and being open about the darker moments does WONDERS for your own self-growth and making other people feel seen. Keep it up girl! Getting enough protein and water in is a great start. Excited to hear how it makes a difference!
Thx you for the video, I'm sure it will help. I had huge binge eating problem for 8 years. What made me stop little by little was : - doing sport to feel connected with my body and not to punish me. - doing sport help me sleep better, so less late craving. - eating the fuckin cookies if I want it and just be sure that I'm having a slightly lighter meal at some point to balance it out. - asking myself why I want to eat when I'm not hungry, because 50% of the time it was because I didn't drink enough, 40% was boredom so I will go for walk, and 10% was emotions so I will try to do something like playing video games or going out with a friend. So by watching your video I realise I did kinda what you said.

The fasting helped me to re-learn how to control myself with food. @@the_specialista6319 did I say anything about losing weight ? I did it to clean my inner self (organs) from junks. Wow. You explained exactly what I was going through. I used stress eat too! I felt soooo low. Now I only eat food to survive and not to make me feel good lol. Also in my religion, it’s now allowed to over indulge and be greedy.
Mistake #1 is part of why I quit caffeine 😭 I noticed I wasn’t eating breakfast and I’d be eating so much at night. Now I know I MUST eat a good breakfast to stop that habit and it’s harder to do when you drink coffee
wait I thought this should have like thousands of likes?? because tysm for these tips they're so good I've struggled with binge eating for so long now :)
Tysm I really needed this, I've always struggled with binge eating ( I suffered from bul1m1a when I was in highschool), I've really noticed how when you eat propperly you have waaay less cravings and especially when you eat balanced meals that are actually tasty, that's a game changer. I need to start sleeping enough but that's really hard for me I suffer from insomnia for as long as i can remember so we're still working on that...

I love your channel name, and this video is very helpful, I work at a bakery and have a binge eating problem so it’s not always easy 😂 I’m not exactly where I want to be yet, but I’m working on building a healthy relationship with food
Thank you! I came up with the name "The Roasted Veggie" after my dad shifted from only eating meat and rice to a more balanced diet with vegetables. He didn't care much for veggies but once I made roasted brussel sprouts, he couldn't stop talking about how much he loved them, so the name 'roasted veggie' clicked for me! I also used to work at Whole Foods Bakery in college, so I totally get where you're coming from! It's hard to be surrounded by all the food and not stuff yourself especially if you can see it potentially going to waste. What really helped me is being 'picky.' I love trying new food items, but I try to be picky on the food items i really REALLY love versus eating items that are just "ok."
Love everything you said! I think there are diets out there that promote one food group that is not helping us getting our much needed macronutrients like fiber and carbs! And water is super important yes!! Can’t wait to see more of your videos!!
Honestly thank you for that video, it made me understand a lot of my behaviors with food wich I had no idea of the meaning, thank you so much. These are some amazing advice and as someone who struggled with binge eating and stress eating in the past, there’s one book that helped me tremendously: The Hunger Habit by Judson Brewer. Really recommend it to those who has the same struggles.
I will drink so much matcha all of my calories comes drinking them. I also work in an office and with little to no movement. It’s so easy to let yourself go. I am so embarrassed this year watching my weight gain and attitude changes. I just been going through the motions with the mindlessness. 😢
Hello love, thank you for this amazing video and helpful tips! I, immediately, subscribed to your channel, as I thought I had overcome my binge eating disorder (had no binges for almost one year), but due to a high stress level and undereating, I have fallen back into old patterns. However, I know that I got this and your video will certainly help me get back into my healthy lifestyle (by healthy I mean getting in my sources of energy). Kind regards
One year binge-free is amazing!!! Life is full of changing seasons, so don't beat yourself up too much. You have already overcame your previous struggles, so I know you got this!!
I struggle with the first mistake of not eating enough throughout the day and ‘saving’ all/ mst calories for the end of the day. I really want to break this habit as I know it’s not healthy for my body but I worry so much about spontaneity, and eating most of my daily intake during the day and then going over my intake if say, we had a meal out, trying a new food/ having a drink out. Do you have any advice as to how to overcome this? Also regarding portion sizes, how do you know what a portion is for your body?
Telling yourself that you're being dramatic, selfish, and stupid doesn't give you a clear plan moving forward, which in my opinion is unhelpful and self-deprecating. At the end of the day, there is always a reason for feeling out of control with food - whether it be a physical, mental, or environmental reason. You need to discover what that is for you. If it is a more self-sabotaging act, then I would recommend getting professional help from an RD/therapist specializing with food!
I was the same way! What helped me was realizing that if hunger isn't the issue, then maybe food isn't the answer. And also finding other non-food activities or tasks to fill my time
I really never leave comments on videos but this video caught me at the right time. I have always struggled with binge eating but never really realized how much of a problem it has been until recently. I was in a phase of restricting and feeling so guilty about my unrealistic expectations I have set for myself! Thank you so much for this🥰
Hey help I have no one to talk to about this but to summarise: I need help with my eating, I’m a figure skater and train super early morning, I have protein bars but normally have sweet drinks or seeets to keep training, at lunch I try eat healthy like a salad but then get bored and I’m always hungry, all I want to do is eat and it’s a struggle for my family as they are sick of it as I’m bulkmic. Any time something that resembles a ‘unhealthy food’ I binge and purge. I do it 2 times a day for year now. How do I stop I don’t want to gain weight I just want to maintain and not throw up and be happy
hi! do u have any tips for social situations, where u feel 'pressured' to eat because everyone else is doing so (eg going out with friends and everyone gets ice cream- you don't want to feel left out) i struggle with this a lot
After watching this video I really don’t know why I keep binging, I eat more than enough protein, carbs and fats and lots of fruits and vegetables (I don’t eat sugar either), I drink liters of water as well. How can I stop? Do you think it’s all about my mentality? I’ve noticed something I do a lot is say I’ll eat very large amounts of food because I’m going to eat less tomorrow but then I never eat less tomorrow
in my professional and personal experience, the mental part impacts our habits WAY more than people give credit. I'd love to help with that if you want to schedule a free call (link in description!)
In my unprofessional opinion, it sounds like your issues are procrastination and possibly addiction to the feeling of fullness. Are you the type to push back tasks and chores to the next day, too? And are you constantly eating throughout the day, never allowing yourself time to digest and feel empty? Setting easy short term goals such as no eating after 7pm or cutting out specific foods you often overeat can help give you a sense of accomplishment which will naturally increase your desire to be productive and accomplish bigger things. And it sounds like you would benefit from a more strictly itemized plan rather than simply saying you will "eat less tomorrow." Only after you reset your hunger cues and fix your indulgent mentality will you be able to determine the level of strictness you personally need to maintain your health/healthy relationship with food.
for me, i go for like 2 weeks of clean eating until one day i just snap and binge for a week before the guilt kicks in and the cycle continues. i dont even feel full even after binging thats why i continue, and sometiems even if i do feel full, i continue to shove shit down my throat until it hurt hurts fr. the thing is i dint think im restrictive during my clean week; like i allow myself to eat snacks and desserts and stuff so im not sure why im still like that 😭😭
Thanks for sharing that!! Here's a few questions I would ask to help you gain some insight - what does your clean eating weeks look like for you? Are you feeling satisfied then? What are you hoping to gain or feel when you do binge?
I ate more than 1 kilo of fresh figs that I picked today ,I dont have cravings on junk food or late night cravings but how should I deal with this fruit cravings.I cant help myself when it come to fruit😓
most people don't eat enough fruit, so I would enjoy your fresh picked figs (: You can balance fruit out by pairing it with a protein like a brie cheese to increase the feeling of fullness
I was watching this video, while having my breakfast. My honest reaction when you started talking about eating while watching shows/series: 🤧😐 tbh: thank you for the video 🩷
I dont binge food that i crave i eat what is front of me then I regret. How to deal we hedonic eating ? Sometimes I eat until i am nauseous then i starve myself
I Had ad and after some time i started training at home and eating healthy and i felt awesome. But after five months of that i started again eating and i can’t stop and i dont know What to do and i am so angry how i can’t control Like that again.

I don’t sleep well because of stress. Like anxiety
I have Rosacea also I am lactose intolerant and can't eat gluten based foods.. and its soo hard to not eat what I love :(
thank you sweetie
Lol - 10 mins in and I realised that's not some kind of posh biscuit
LOL
@@theroastedveggie 😁
I crave something ultra processed and sweet after all my meals even when I’m full it’s so bad :/
if that's a pattern for you, you can try to purposefully plan to eat those foods and work on nutritional balance
ohh you’re filipina 😮❤
hehehe yesss
hi! do u have any tips for social situations, where u feel 'pressured' to eat because everyone else is doing so (eg going out with friends and everyone gets ice cream- you don't want to feel left out) i struggle with this a lot
Get some ice cream if you want ice cream, but get a small size or a kid size.
Absolutely! This is a super common struggle, and I feel like this would be a great future video for me to talk about! What do you think?
That's a great tip for portion control and a great way to feel included without going too overboard! Has that worked for you in the past?
@@theroastedveggie that would be great! 💘
@@theroastedveggieI also struggle with the social pressure eating and would love a video on this topic !!
i don’t binge unless im high 😢! then i feel like shit the next morning so i get high but binge morning to night all over again , help
You’re gorgeous thanks you for the video
Make yourself homemade meals and that helps a lot
loneliness makes me so unhappy i want people to want to be around me
for me, i go for like 2 weeks of clean eating until one day i just snap and binge for a week before the guilt kicks in and the cycle continues. i dont even feel full even after binging thats why i continue, and sometiems even if i do feel full, i continue to shove shit down my throat until it hurt hurts fr. the thing is i dint think im restrictive during my clean week; like i allow myself to eat snacks and desserts and stuff so im not sure why im still like that 😭😭
Thanks for sharing that!! Here's a few questions I would ask to help you gain some insight - what does your clean eating weeks look like for you? Are you feeling satisfied then? What are you hoping to gain or feel when you do binge?
My cravings is sushi 😩😩.
oooooo I love sushi!
Who gave you that mic
I was watching this video, while having my breakfast. My honest reaction when you started talking about eating while watching shows/series: 🤧😐
