He is probably very tired out from his mental health and trauma. I’m much older than Beiber’s general fanbase. In fact, when ‘Baby’ was released in 2010, my daughter had just turned 5 and was one of the biggest Beliebers on the planet. So, it’s safe to say that I’m not even close to being a member of his target demographic.
BUT, having been a musician of 30+ years, I do recognize actual talent when I see/hear it. And it’s safe to assert that Justin’s level of talent, especially as a young kid, is and always has been next-level.
HOWEVER, I think what Justin has experience over the last few years is what I like to call “new puppy syndrome”. Because when people get a new puppy, they quickly fall head-over-heels in love with how cute, cuddly, bouncy, and clumsy it is - which, let’s be honest, is endearing af - but...about 9 mos to a year on, the “puppy” enters its awkward teenager phase.
And I think we all remember those years for Justin. Now that he’s a fully-formed, fleshed-out (sorry, sounds weird, I know) grown ass man, a lot of people don’t know where to put him in their minds. Like, do they still perceive him as this uber-talented child prodigy whose hair practically has its own career..or can they shift their perspective to accept that he is this much more mature, sometimes sexually explicit, heavily-tattooed “bad boy” type who embraces weed culture and pisses in occasional mop buckets in random restaurant kitchens? Aaaaand who now looks and behaves vastly, vastly different than that adorably talented RUclips prodigy who was discovered by Usher?
