@@kit_chen_ben it's not easy if you're going above your first passaggio (usually A4 for women) and trying to not strain/hurt your voice. This is something we take for granted because the vast majority of pop music today sits above that and belting is a common practice that basically every contemporary professional singer knows, but it's still hard - opera singers, for example, who usually utilize their head register in those higher notes, have a hard time learning how to belt. You need to have a healthy mix to not strain your voice when doing it, because pulling chest all the way up does not sound and may cause damage to your vocal cords, and developing that healthy mix is difficult.

She did great but I just wish she sang the original version of the song. The fourth line doesn’t make sense with the fifth in this altered version
@Her0Chargeb0lt no, I never saw the remake. The original was: “Where they cut off your ear if they don’t like your face it’s barbaric, but hey, it’s home”. I think they changed it fairly quickly after the movie released but you can hear it in the original soundtrack release
the _real_ reason they changed it is because it was racist as fuck. so no, she should not have sang the original. and I still take issue with the “barbaric” line. beautiful song, but those parts definitely needed workshopping
I looked on Spotify for the lyrics in the original film and it reads where they cut off your ear if they don’t like your face but as you read it they sing where it’s flat and immense and the heat is intense. So the lyrics say something different from what the person sings.
