This will be one of my most favorite movies and soundtrack and you captured the pain and love woven in this song. The echo in this place, depth of the song, and your voice control is a filling reminder of how much more we can become as humans if we understand our consciousness.
I LOVE UR VOICE JADA!!!!😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍💗💗💗💗💗💗💗💗💗💗💗💗💗💗💗💗💗💗💗💗

Ya know, this song always had old Hebrew Magic vibes to me. Doing it in an empty auditorium without music just increases that vibe.
It feels so calm and peaceful when she sang. I could just close my eyes and listen to her voice forever
dude this should get 5 million likes! This is unbelievable!
The most amazing singer I’ve ever heard
I can't believe how much I love this song❤
God every time I hear this I get chills good ones beautiful
Wow.
This is the song I (attempt) to sing to my children that my mom sang to me. This and "Baby Mine" from Dumbo. Idk why they love the sad ones--I guess because they come closest to explaining a mother's love and concern for the children she's been given.
Thank you for this!
Oh my goodness her little yodel thingys and the verbrado🤌🤌🤌❤️
the yodel thingies are called vibrato😀
Your voice is absolutely haunting and remarkable. It gives me chills. Your talent is through the roof!!!
Omg she sing beautiful 💖😍🌼

I have no words to explain how amazing this is
Your voice has gotten me through so many sleepless nights 💫🙌🏽 Yur amazing 🥰
this is absolutely angelic- i wish i could one day reach this level of perfection!
Beautiful rendition of Ofra Haza
Haunting and beautiful! I love your voice!
I would die for this woman, but only if she'd sing this over my dying body
Ofra Haza would be proud.
Please tell me you’re in spotify 🥺
My son was chronically ill and I would sing lullabies to him every night for hours. When he died I sang this to him as his last song. I’ve searched everywhere for a good version and haven’t found one until now. Thank you so much for the gift of your voice and your performance. I listen to this and I think of my little Royce and I wish he could’ve heard you too.
I’m so sorry for your loss, and I’m glad that you’ve found something beautiful to remember him by. Sending you love!
I had always had goosebumps and chills while listening this song but after your story I am literally crying. God rest your son's soul! Hope your son guards you as an angel now! Lot's of love from me! 💕

Actually, this is Hebrew. Not arabic.
@@Justarandomgirl20 it originates from the same place

@@Kamari_26 no, the hebrews (the jews) had their own tipe of poetry and the one in the video is it. That's not arabic thank you.
You should hear her sing Arabian Nights from Aladdin! She’s really good.
0:58 and 2:01 it’s so hard to find people that are able to do the Arabic sounding runs that weren’t taught to sing like that and that is extremely impressive
It's a jew sound too. The singer were Ofra Haza, an israeli singer. You can listen Mor Karbasi too, a sephardic singer from Israel🙂
@@sheylasauricovers The singer is Israeli but the runs that you hear is influenced by Arab music
@@celestia4439 it would be israeli not jewish two different things :) i’m jewish but live in switzerland so us jews here would probably yodel before singing like that…
@@sheylasauricovers "a jew sound" doesn't mean anything, it's a typical meslisma that Arabs do while singing. The original singer is of yemenite descent so obviously this affected her style of singing
They not Arabic sounds they're Semitic sounds.
Okay, so, I came from the Arabian Nights video and I thought to myself "I hope she's got one from Prince of Egypt" and man, the joy that rushed inside me when I found this.
Aww I'm so glad! Thank you!

The run starting at 2:10 is something that can rival some of the hardest runs even in RnB. Incredible control.

I've never heard something so beautiful and haunting in the same moment.. you really can feel the back story when she sings, and the use of the acoustics to amplify the effects are just bone chilling in the best possible way. Thank you so much for sharing your gift with the world Jada!
She sounds like either a goddess, or a siren.
More like a reincarnation of an Egyptian goddess

Sad fact about Ofra Haza (RIP), the original singer. She was considered by Hans Zimmer to do the vocals for the 2000 film Gladiator, but passed away before she could be asked to do it. Lisa Gerrard’s vocals on the soundtrack are awesome, but imagine what it would have been like if the woman who gave us that awesome delivery of Deliver us had sung the vocals. RIP Ofra. Your voice was something special.
R.i.p
Okay can you help me find the Ofra Haza version because Amy Grant sings it on the official soundtrack?! Or what am I missing??

She also san in every language the movie was released in a true artist 😢
1:15 I love how here the tone is super sweet and calm, hopefull even but then it turns melancholic almost like moaning, it was so smooth. The cries of a mother
I cried so hard watching this part of the movie and I still cry thinking about it and how sad she must have been to leave her child floating down a river with no idea where he would end up
Same
I’m the original story doesn’t she actually end up nursing him while he grows under instruction from the Egyptian princess. The sister was also watching to ensure he would end up somewhere safe
@Sean Valdehueza Yocheved never prayed to the river. As a practicing Jew that would have been idolatry. Don't get me wrong I love this song but it's poetic not literal. Just read this section in the bible at the beginning of Exodus if you want the original story.
is this song from the mother pov or the moses' sister's? cause it sounds like it could be both
@Mariana Fraher ohhhhh ok thanks!
Prince of Egypt is NOT A DISNEY FILM, GOD DAMMIT PEOPLE!!!

Jada, Ofra Haza is my favorite singer of all time, and while I think no one else can quite reach the heights of her original rendition of this song, your cover is simply amazing and you can do a lot of the same vocal tricks as she did. :D First time coming to your channel. I looked at some of your other videos and I really love your voice. You are an amazing singer with an impressive range of vocal sounds. Do you have a Spotify profile? What genre of music are you hoping to pursue as a songwriter? I look forward to hearing a full album from you someday. ^_^
The Prince of Egypt is very great movie. Both Musically, Song and Story too. She sung it very beautifully and she sounded like an absolute angel. Even the dress she wore was gracious.

Prince of Egypt is one of the best movies I deeply hold dear in my heart. I appreciated this lullaby even more when I got casted to be Moses' mother in our musical and got the chance to sing this piece. It was an unforgettable experience.
Splendid! You've earned a subscriber ❤️
Thank you so much for listening and subbing! Means so much to me!
I can imagine this being a scene in a Disney movie, where some guy is wondering around this empty place, thinking he's alone when he hears this beautiful voice and immediately stops in his tracks. He listens and then gets drawn in, now desperately trying to find who this voice belongs to as it gets closer. He then finds the voice and stares in awe, watching the woman sing before he steps or bumps into something, causing the woman to stop and then fleeing in embarrassment or something. That's just the vibe I get from her voice since it's just that angelic and powerful at the same time.
haha omg! You should definitely pitch that!
Or him seeing something that looks like a beautiful woman but when she turns around its a corpse or its like an tall angelic figure with twelve wings that flys off
He’s a guard, and is doing his rounds when he hears the voice. He searches the whole guard until he enters the guards where the marble statues are kept. He finds her and stares in awe, but he bumps into something and startles her. Overcome by fear she runs and when he chases after her he finds a marvel statue. Each night a different statue wakes up to sing a different lullaby.
Nah don’t ruin this with male gaze vibes please
