My dad was part of the opening team to universal studios Orlando, and he used to help run the triceratops. If it was broken in any way he’d always joke that she was sick and needed cheese puffs and orange soda. By far the coolest thing to say “my dad works with dinosaurs” at show and tell

I was lucky enough to have the triceratops sneeze on my leg when I was little! They 'cleaned' it off with a paint roller! Will never forget that feeling!

I worked at Triceratops Encounter from the start. A few of my co workers are in this vid. So cool to see them. And yes those trikes broke all the time. If all three had a "card error" at the same time you were down for hour and 30 min at least. There was a part of the speil where you picked a few people to come up and pet the trike but even then you could only just reach the beak. Most folks were mad.
Now every Universal park is abandoned because of quarantine!

They were still keeping up the parks while they were closed, so this is not true. (it's especially not true because of the reopening)
Everytime they make these abandoned by (insert theme park here) videos the intros are so intense I am living for it
i feel like the triceratops named “Sarah” is a nod to the triceratops in “The Land Before Time”
Her name was spelled Cera which blew my mind the first time I figured it out... the Land Before Time dinosaur I mean, I have no idea how the animatronic’s name was spelled lol

Oh my god, the Triceratops, I'd almost forgotten!! My parents had to drag me away from one of those when I was little because I was absolutely in love with it and just wanted to spend all day there. Sad to hear what happened to them though :(

There's also the abandoned boat dock near the outdoor seating for the three broomsticks overlooking Jurassic park. As well as the Ghosbusters HQ in the main park. Also near fast and furious supercharged and the arcade is a bathroom titled Gotham ice company as a reminder to an unbuilt land in Universal studios
Fun fact: when Jurassic Park was released animal activists were mad at Stephen taking a picture with a creature for taking a picture with an animal that's been dead for 65 million years
But it's not a real dino so there protests where pathetic and time wasteing

Bryce McKenzie I want the original Triceratops Encounter attraction to be reimagined, relocated, and reopened with newer animatronics that’ll be located adjacent to the Jurassic Park River Adventure Ride!
The first time I went to universal in 2015 (if I remember correctly) my sister, father and I got lost looking for the river attraction and she thought that the line was empty, we got just in front of those old and abandoned triceratops, it was so shocking but at the same time so cool. Of course we shouldn’t have been there and we quickly leave. It was not planed, but it was very interesting.

I was at islands of adventure back in 2001 and 2002 both 7th and 8th grade year during grad bash middle school year.
I think in the future(not during coronavirus) Universal could eventually build a dubailand theme park. Just like Disney, Universal is expanding. Already another Universal Theme park in Beijing is set to open, maybe this year or next year.

i like how dubai land had a park called "surf city", where i live in north carolina, right next to a county called surf city. that threw me through a loop for a second
Love the video. But...I managed guest services during the opening; true, it wasn't as tough as USF's opening, but it was horrible for the first 2 years.
Also, triceratops encounter was a beautiful environment. One of our favorite places to explore in the hard hat days.

An economic crisis meant that Beastly Kingdom never came to be in Disney's Animal Kingdom. For the abandoned Universal studios Dubailand, this is to be considered a vibe of sympathy from Universal's rival, Disney.

Dubailand sounds like a climate killer with the huge air condition covering a whole park.
That DubaiLand was really unfortunate.I could see this extraordinary theme park that attracts visitors worldwide. I would personally go there despite it is on the other side of the planet. But now all it left are...this is just heartbreaking.

I was at universal islands of adventure back in june of 2002. Islands was amazing and I loved it. As a little kid I've always dreamed of visiting universal studios. The first day we were there I spent it in islands. The next day we went to universal and I was shocked and disapointed at how utterly boring universal was compared to islands of adventure. About halfway through the day I went back to the islands and had a blast. Back then I was 16 and I got to roam around the parks alone. So I got to utilize the express lines.
Very eerie just seeing those arches and nothing. Nothing else.
Thank you to everyone that worked for Disney and literally created magic for my childhood I appreciate all of you
I’m still baffled as to why Universal hasn’t made a whole park or at least land based off Jurassic Park. Literally CALL IT JURASSIC PARK (or World) and just be willing to put in the amount of effort that they put into the Wizarding World or Disney put into Galaxy’s Edge and Pandora and soon Avenger’s Campus
I’m still angry they let the triceratops rot basically.. 😾!!!! At least I got to see it once I suppose... I’ve always loved the animatronic Dino’s since I was a kid. We went on a school trip and I never forgot going to a mall to see dinosaurs..

They should plant a park guest in the audience and give him a fake arm. Have him put his arm in the enclosure the cast member yells "SIR DONT!!!" And the raptor rips his arm off. Scare the hell out of the kids 😆

The Dubai project basically didn't happen because the financial backers pulled their support because they didn't want to buy in to theme park that's basically what happened there they lost their funding
I went to universal studios Orlando back in 2017 and it made me so sad. I feel like that park really needs work. When the queue line for Shrek 4D tells you that you can purchase Shrek on VHS you know you need an update. Also the Mummy ride needs a rebranding. I love that ride and I love the nostalgia it gives me, but The Mummy franchise just isn’t relevant anymore. It’s like y’all took out the Back to the Future Ride, but still kept the mummy?

I'm so glad Dubailand was scrapped. It's horrible enough that there are massive, futuristic skyscrapers in a country where the majority of people are living in poverty, a gigantanormous theme park city would be insulting.
