Thanks for your very detailed information about herringbone stitches, I was working on other RUclipsr sweater project, but she didn’t give very clear instructions on how to do it, and I found your instructions really helpful.

Very good instruction. I appreciate you being so clear about what to do when you get to the end! This is always where I get messed up on crochet.
Also, I have memory problems from a head injury, so I appreciate nice looking stitches that don’t require a lot of memory. Thank you😀👍

I think I will make a set of placemats with this stitch. I like to make my placemats from a close interesting stitch so the mats will retain their shape after many washings. This stitch may also make a nice small rug, as well as a washcloth or dish cloth.

Placements was my thought as well. I already did a set in floret stitch, turned out beautiful. The downfall is they are only 1 sided. Deciding on a stitch I always find to be very difficult. Cannot tell you how many projects I frog & start over.

Wow your instructions are so clear and concise. I never learned how to read written crochet patterns. I learned starting at about the age of 8 how to crochet watching my grandma. She started me out making a chain with my fingers untill I could do that easily then moved on to teaching me to use a hook. Since I watched her from basically a mirror image (I watch her while sitting in front of her rather than beside her) I hold my yarn and hook backwards but not left handed if that makes any since. I also tie my shoes "backwards" for this same reason. Anyway I believe this is why it's always been so hard for me to understand written instructions. Your video is so easy for me to understand. I would love to find a video that shows directions with the proper abbreviations used. I just know if I can find a video like that I can then easily learn to follow a written pattern. I just discovered your channel so I haven't had the chance yet to see if you in fact did make a video like that. If so wonderful and I will definitely be watching them if you haven't done that I sure would like for you to make it. I don't need a beginning video since I've been crocheting for nearly 50 years and can make lots of stiches. Basically I want to see each stitch made according to written instructions. I hope this makes since. God bless 🕊️🙏❤️

Very nicely done tutorial. I think a project such as triangular shawl, scarf would be showing off the stitch best, maybe using a solid yarn color that is attention- getting, or an ombre that has longer, gradual color changes, or in a soothing heather texture. Even some fringing would be a softening effect . In my mind I would love a lightweight pullover vest pattern that would show off the stitch but also have some openwork areas ? to balance the overall effect.

Love it. I'm looking for a sweater pattern. I am a plus size so everything i wear has to be long enough to cover the behind because i wear alot of leggings. They are comfortable but not attractive unless the tops are long. I think this stitch would look comfy and casual in a soft bulky but not super bulky weight. I like the cardigan style . I sew so i tend to think in the way shape and size cloths are made. Still i have not been able to create a sweater that looks nice. This isnt a difficult stitch but the tension is. The first row is much tighter then the following. I wonder if a size larger hook just for the first row would help?

I made a crib sized baby blanket with this stitch. I started with 143 +2 chain then did 171 rows. But once it was complete it seemed to heavy for a baby blanket. I used Bernat Baby lightweight 3ply yarn with an "H" 5mm hook. Should I have used 2ply yarn? Or was this just not a good stitch for a baby blanket?
