This is the best crochet tutorial I have ever seen… thank you. Breath of fresh air 😂 it’s clear, I can actually see the yarn, you point at the stitches! Agh! There isn’t a bunch of useless information, perfect.
Beautifully done and wonderful instruction ❤
I was struggling to wrap my brain around the WS turning bit for the herringbone stitch, but this finally filled in the gap for me. Thank you for making this!
You have no idea when you work with a stiff yarn like makrame.. it's torturing for muscles😔😔
Thank you so much for sharing this! I have watched several tutorials on this and this is the first one I understand 🙏
This is the BEST tutorial! Demonstrating with super bulky yarn makes it so easy to follow along. I can't wait to try it!
BTW: My daughter loves the top I made her using your pattern.
this is the best one i have seen so far. thanks for sharing
Fantastic tutorial! And thank you so much for using chunky yarn and a big hook!
Perfect instructions!! Thanx
Very clear instructions!! Very easy using the large hook & bulky yarn!!
Best video instruction. So clear on where to place hook

Thanks for sharing. Could you also show me how to decrease? Thanks in advance
Fantastic tutorial!! Instructions on how to increase stitches on right and wrong sides. ❤❤
perfectst explained ❣️👌🏻Thank you!
Very well explained Maam ,its a lovely stitch
Thanks a lot for your great effort 💕☺️
Thank you 😘
Great video. Now I will try it. Couldn't follow the written directions. Thank you.
Thank you for making something that sounds so difficult so easy!!!
so so so helpful!!!
Often have to come back to this video. I can never quite remember herringbone stitch! But I’ve found that a single crochet at the beginning of each row makes my rows uneven. I changed it to a regular half double and it works great.
Дякую , дуже гарно пояснюєте ❤
Thank you so very much. I'm doing this now and your instructions have been great for me. The only thing, & this maybe a dumb question, however, how does one cast off? Thank you kindly.
Magnifique 👌👏👏💐
Just wanted to see if you can change colours? Would you change colours on the wrong side? Thanks 🙏
What I crotchet in circular do I need to crotchet from behind.
Can you also do a decrease with the herringbone stitch?
The beanie is so beautiful since the herringbone stitch is very suitable with super bulky yarn. Love it. Thank you so much for the beautiful patterns.
Thank you for your kind words! :)
Would this stitch work for a baby blanket?
is that stitch stretchy? what is the less stretchy stitch??
@forthefrills could you show how to decrease?
Can this be done in the round?
What yarn is this that you're using?
Hi! Spanish speaker here, I have a question: herringbone refers to the zigzag-like pattern that you end up with?
¡Hola! Yes the herringbone is the zig zag pattern :)
Hello Is there a tutorial for the beanie? And when you are working in rounds for the beanie you say to turn and then do the next round.. So after I sc6 in rd 1 - I have to turn to do Rd 2, etc? and rd 2 states to : sc, HSC in first st., then HSCinc in each st around?Thank you Grace!Also.. what should the length be for the child size??
Hi Delia, there isn't a video tutorial for the beanie sorry! When working in rounds you just sl st to join and turn and then you follow RND 2/Row 2 of the HSC stitch. You always want the herringbone pattern to be facing the right side of your beanie. For beanie length, I recommend trying on the beanie you can just stop crocheting the side rounds once you've reached your desired length. In the pattern I recommend crocheting 3 rounds for Child size but you can add/remove rounds if you want the beanie to be more slouchy or fitted :)
Is there a written pattern for this to print off?
My gosh, do I hate how much effot this stitch takes, but your clear and beautiful tutorial makes the end result worth it! Thank you ❤
Is this stitch with this thickness of yarn a good option for making a sweater or would it be too stiff? Love your videos btw!
Hi, If making a sweater I'd definitely recommend using a thinner yarn with a larger hook that way the sweater should have some movement to it.
I hope this helps,
Grace
How come mine is not the same on both sides
It won't be the same. That's why we have to flip the work and perform the work "upsidedown" when we're on the wrong side. You're probably doing it correctly :0) !!
What's the name of that heart-stopping, dropdead GORGEOUS YARN?!!!!!
Looks like Wool And The Gang’s Crazy Sexy Wool 💜
Very fiddley when trying with double knit
Wouldn't it just be easier to crochet one row right handed, and the next row left handed? I'm left handed, but it's easier for me to do it that way. Just a thought. Thanks for the tutorial!
I was thinking the same! Only problem is I'm right handed lol
To bring up the very first stitch to similar stitch height, is it possible to simply work it as a half-double crochet?
Hi, I haven't tried using HDC for this stitch but I feel like sicne there are 3 loops on the hook (for an HDC) you might loose the clear 'herringbone' look. If you want the first stitch to be a similar height, it might help to pull up a slightly longer loop at the beginning of the row. I hope this helps Grace :)
M
Better to use thinner yarn hard to follow with that thickness
I SPENT OVER AN HOUR ON THIS !!!!!! SHE IS CLEARLY NOT THE BEST TEACHER
