Derek is unmatched. One of my favorite guitarists. But can we take a moment to appreciate the genius level drumming going on behind him? His band is second to none.
Derek in my opinion is the greatest guitarist going 2day.It’s not about playing a million notes a second and sweep arpeggios, which he can do fretless and w/ a slide which is even more impressive.It’s about the incredible feel.It’s the way other amazing players look at him when he plays…..absolutely awestruck!!!! It’s the respect that other players have for him.It’s the humility and passion.A God among boys.
This has become one of my top 5 all time favorite guitar solos. I'm honestly struggling to think of a better one, but I want to leave myself the world room allowed by placing it in the top 5 at least.
I have an SG cause I'm a religious person that follows this Derek (and Tommi Iommi) Gibson cult. I choose with my free will to say that THIS it's the closest to heaven we're going to ever get and that's fine by me, I feel way more blessed then I deserve already. Thank you for everything Derek, fuck... It would get me 10 lifetimes (probably more) to even aspire to be at some worth your time level, but thank you for inspiring me to play anyway.
Amazing player, I just don't like the slurry stuff inbetween riffs. Gary Moore did the same thing, just kinda blows it for me. Still phenominal player!
