I went to Prambanan 38 years ago. No tourists then and no development of the site. Free entry. I looks like they have done a huge amount of work to reconstruct the site. Thanks for this video as this is the first time I have seen this since I went. Also went to Borabudur which was amazing and did have about twenty students there. Travel in Indonesia and Asia was so much better back then when you could be the only person at so many now Disney like places full of tourists.

That temple complex was very interesting! Ankor Wat in Siem Riep extends over 450sq km so it takes a week minimum to see everything! I'm sure the Buddhists, Hindus, & Christians make up less than 5% of the population! The lady selling the chicken skewers was so, so cute & sweet! She was from a small island way off the beaten track so you were probably her first foreign customer! YES, for 10 sticks, 40,000IDR($3.25) was a steal & you got a free water to boot! Dear Harry..yes Prambanan is the largest Hindu temple site in Indonesia but i think you should visit Borobudur as well as the larget Buddha temple site in the world and is proclaimed as one of the World Heritage.

@@harryjaggardtravel I doubt Borobudur will be worth it, even for us locals...for such an expensive ticket for bule, you can't climb the temple...it will be a very short trip...unlike Prambanan

@@004venkat Yes....the temple is degrading and now off limit. Even the smaller and much cheaper Plaosan temple complex gives you better experience, because you can walk among ancient ruins.
