  • Yogyakarta also known simply as JOGJA is a Kingdom on the island of Java in Indonesia and home to INCREDIBLY delicious and unique street food. This is a city that knows how to eat. I'm back here for a second time to continue my culinary journey into this quiet kingdom and taste everything I missed on my first trip through Jogja.
On the menu today we have :
Sate kambing. Goat meat cooked on charcoal except these sate are skewered using bicycle spokes!! One of the strangest desserts you'll ever see. THE BEST fried chicken, smashed and spicy. Javanese ramen and more!!
    CHAPTERS :
    0:00-0:50 Intro
    0:50-3:01 Soto Daging
    3:01-7:44 Sate Kambing
    7:44-11:28 Ice Cream Rojak
    11:28-14:47 Lumpia
    14:47-17:40 Ayam Geprek
    17:40-21:16 Soto Jawa
    21:16-21:37 Outro

The Soto is Soto Pak Syamsul. My fav place to eat soto because I really love the broth. It's really good. If you come earlier in the morning you can also get some fried beef brain, lung, and crispy fried tempeh. For the Sate Klatak you should try sate klatak Mbah Abu. They're really underrated in the sate klatak scene, but it is really good. 👌

The sate klathak has a quite distinct flavor for each place / different "brand". I have tried several places especially in Bantul region, you can tell even though just a slight difference, that you can pick which one is your taste. And, true, most of Jogja's cuisines are popular for their sweetness and not as rich and thick as Sumatranese cuisine.
