- There's no better way to enjoy outdoor photography than camping out on location to enjoy best of sunset photography and sunrise photography in the landscape. In today's video I take my Canon 5DIV and my Nordisk Telemark 2 tent up to the summit of Bow Fell in the lake district. The conditions were beautiful and I enjoyed a good crop of images from single frames to stitched panoramas.

Yay! The original Thomas Heaton is back!
That was exactly what I was thinking. The reason I followed Thomas to begin with. Best video in a very long time.
With his messy hair !
I had the exact same thought.
Yes!
Exactly so! Well said!
This is why we love Thomas Heaton and Landscape photography. It is not about the end result, but the journy to get them.
nothing nicer than being in the hills with sheep around u. such a serene and beautiful moment
These are my favourite videos. Hiking, light and camping🙏🏾
This is why I originally subscribed to Thomas Heaton's channel. Top class mate. Loved the adventure, loved the images!! MORE!!!
Yes. The "camp and shoot" videos are the very best. That rebel with a camera surfaces and the rough outdoorsman embraces the challenge of the hunt.
Glad to see the Canon 5D Mark 4 get some action. It has been a while.
Right? He's been extremely indecisive with his camera choices. Still not sure what he was searching for.
yes interessting to hear why he made this choice for this trip
I would guess he need the telephoto lens.
And add the resolution.
James Stamsek,
Camera is not wife. You can go with many. As many as you can afford.
JungleEddie have you ever done photography, feels like you want a new camera or lens after every shoot
Yeaaaa the Thomas i miss is back. Camping and making gorgeous pictures
Agreed! I haven’t even watched it yet and I’m so excited. I’ll be upset if I don’t see him cook up some food in his travel kit.
And there it is. Something calming about watching Thomas Heaton cook up a feed.
Outside, camping, taking photos and using a Canon 5D Mark IV ....... life doesn't get much better than that 🤗👌
Back in the lakes, your best videos are in the lakes. Bit bias because I'm in love with the place! Who doesnt love the lakes though really. Nice to the old trusty 5DIV make a return
This is exactly why I subscribed to you over 5 years ago. The best at what you do when you're out in the wild, camping and creating amazing images. This is the reason I started photography and RUclips, and I would LOVE to see you do this as often as you can. Absolutely amazing Thomas. Thank you
Really enjoyed this one and great to hear life's feeling great for you just now. Hopefully you'll get one or two more wild camps under your belt before the year is over 😊
So beautifully put: 'composing the light more than I'm composing the landscape'!!! (3:04)
Loreta Gema Totally agree
It’s nice too see I’m not the only one who thoroughly enjoys the light at sun rise and sun set. It’s very nice to see the original Thomas Heston on home turf. Those conditions are some of the best you can ask for from Mother Nature. 🤯😱😎👊
I’m don’t shoot landscapes, but your enthusiasm inspires me, always. It’s contagious.
The words "Absolutely Stunnin'" come to mind. :)
Smashin'. Vintage Tom video, you and the old Canon flame reunited. Its like John Frusciante rejoining the Chillies.
A man who truly loves what he does..
Thanks for giving a voice to those of us who talk to our gear while solo-hiking.
The beauty of your photos gave me chills and brought a tear to my eye. That landscape is so incredibly beautiful.
I love this trio. (Thomas, Canon Eos 5D Mark 4, Canon Ef 70-200mm f/4L ) And I know the great pictures will appear on the screen soon.
I do toooo
really love the good old days when you hike alone and talk to the camera, recording everything you've planned and done during the hike. so glad to see you still keep your original intention/interest in landscape photography.
Back to the good old Days. Such a nice feeling... 😍😄
This is more like it. It reminds me of those days when I subscribed to this channel. Soft music.. hiking.. calmness.. photography
Welcome back Thomas, great video and images.
Ah love this video. Just like the older videos. It is the reason why I’m watching this in a tent right now!
I am a Photographer in South Korea.
It's a beautiful work.
Thank you for sharing your wonderful work.
Had a blast watching it too. I could feel your energy and excitement as the light opened up and suddenly shots appeared. Fun!
Love this. Imagine how many amazing moments are like those every day and not seen by a human eye.
Thomas, a few weeks ago you went up Yewbarrow and it inspired me. I am not a photographer, just a lover of the outdoors. I felt I had to share what I had seen in your video with my 65 year old dad. We made the hike (and scramble) last week. No photographs of note but a treasured memory between father and son. Thank you!
I’d take a hundred of these over a fancy pant Iceland epic. Thomas at his best. More of these please. The joy of simple pleasures.
Messy haired Heaton is back! Wild camping and frantic shoots. Very entertaining!
The boys are back in town!!!! Get in there Thomas this is the stuff we want!!!
Wow, amazing photos and love the video tone, you make us travel and live the adventure with you!
Only half way through the video, but had to stop and comment. Love the rawness of this video and how you showcase the planning, the spontaneity of landscapes/compositions you come across and never really thought of shooting, the stress, the reward, all of it. Well done Thomas.
This is the type of Thomas Heaton video that I subscribed to many moons ago. I appreciate trends change but absolutely loved this video and hope there will be many more like this to come.well done Tom keep up the great work.
Glad to see you enthused about the chase for light again. And coffee. Another excellent adventure.
Yeah. Couldn't agree more. Welcome home Thomas.
It's great when your effort as a photographer is rewarded with great light. Thank you for your impressions.
I'm happy for you and your zen time, I know exactly how much it's needed.
The buzz was palpable! And great images under pressure. What a star! Thanks...off to brush the tent down and get adventurous.
Good to see you back in the Lakes, enjoy videos from further afield but the UK videos are where your passion comes through the most.
This is why we love you! 😆 absolutely love the energy! So inspiring!
You back! Keep it in this way! That’s the Thomas I’ve knew at the beginning!
Yes, Thomas is back to the Tom we all love to watch YAY!!!
Love the old camping vids are back! That adventurefood is so good by the way!! They have great meals
Yes! These are the videos I love. Warm single malt at the ready...
your passion is unmatched Thomas...incredible
Try Henry Turner too his enthusiasm is infectious
Broken Toy Absolutely! And at 20k his channel is still small enough for him to reply to most comments. I really like his videos.
Sod the B roll!! Good to see you hiking, camping & shooting images again!!
thanks for sharing the magic light in the hills with us - made my day at home office.
As always, you are an inspiration. I feel like I’m tagging along, you are so good at enabling us viewers to feel the atmosphere. More and more please.
Real life minecraft + reaping stunning Photography. Man you're living a dream lifestyle to me.
Exciting, entertaining, funny + beautiful shots.. Splendid!
Now this is what I signed up for all those years ago.!!👍🙂
Thank you, Thomas, for taking us on your adventure. Absolutely beautiful photos and video footage. We appreciate all that it takes to produce these so often.
Good To see back to the roots of the channel absolutely love it!
"Light makes it happen" - enjoyed seeing your enthusiasm to get to the top, and that enthusiasm paid off. Also, pretty neat using the tripod to hold your water bag and the sheep casually walking behind you at the end.
Dear Thomas. So pleased to see this one. 100% back to why I love the channel and watch every week. Keep up the good work and flying the flag for The Lakes!!!
Good to see you this excited again Thomas! And some banging images too! Excellent video!
Glad to see you're using the 5D Mark IV again. This is the Thomas I've been missing.
I love the camp trip and also landscape photography
These are the videos I love to watch. You are in your element and it’s great to see the frantic rush to get some amazing shots
Your best video for 6 months - fantastic!!
Really enjoyed this one Thomas! Glad to see you back out making beautiful images.
Glad to see you so happy. Nothing like a good walk in the hills to soothe the soul. I suppose some great light doesn't hurt either.
At last ........... Thomas Heaton (the one we all know & love) is back ................. and boy did it show by the smile on your face .............. Great Video 📷👍
There's something about your videos from the Lakes, you seem to feel a lot more at home. Makes them so much more enjoyable!
Classic Thomas Heaton is back :)
Thank you for another great video! It's like a breath of fresh air, as always.
Regardless of where your photography travels take you Thomas, there is always the feeling in your videos when you are in the lakes that you are in your spiritual home. This had all the hallmarks of a classic episode just like when you started out. Great stuff 👍
Photos are amazing!!!
I am glad to see you using your Canon Gear again.
It's good to see you out having a great time! I love the photos you got too!
The return of wild camping and the canon. 2020 is finally feeling normal again! Great video and compositions as always. That area seems to lend itself to both wide and intimate shots.
Really appreciate your level of enthusiasm! Hope it's contagious!!
Enjoyed that enthusiasm being out camping. Nothing like a morning coffee amongst nature.
Great to see a solo camping video, been too long. The reason I subscribed all those years ago. Plus, some smashing images. 👍🏻
Real quality show this week Tom, excellent images and great to see you chilling in the tent again...
We can tell you had a great trip and I can say it was great to watch!
Excellent video! Showing your adventure! Stunning Imagery!
Beautiful. Thanks for sharing Thomas.
So wonderful to see you inspired on the summit to capture the beautiful evening light! You, are always, so inspiring, dear, sir! Wishing you all the very best always! Take care and stay healthy and safe! Best Regards from Sweden!
That last image is magic!
This is how I fell in love with TH. It is such a challenge to do this photography and carry the gear and scramble and TH does it with such sincerity and honesty how can I not love this? Love the other content style too, but clearly this style is my favorite. Many thanks.
This is why I fell in love with your channel! Great work on the new graphics that are being slowly introduced into your videos👍🏽!
Nice vídeo. The essence of landscape photography. Enjoy the Nature.
Manic and epic, oh yeah
Brilliant Thomas, my favorite kind of videos, it revives happy memories from when I used to live in the lake district!
This style of video, chasing beautiful landscape photography is why I first subscribed to your channel Thomas. So pleased to see it again!
Love the enthusiasm at least as much as the photos! Well done Thomas.
As always, a thoroughly enjoyable vide.
So good to see you back in your natural habitat.
Thanks for sharing the little raw details Thomas, killin it.
Happy days. Will be in the lakes next week, can't wait.
