i tried to cut purple acrylic with no success it melted more then cut. i have the xtool 40 w. i also have the 20 watt module. any advice on settings for purple?
If it is solid purple (not transparent at all) you should be able to cut it. Is this something you got from Craft Closet in the diode section? Just curious. Also, what speed an power?
the two tone i have chrome/blk, copper/blk, gold/blk all cut great but if it has a color with a white core just bubbles and makes a mess. im running the mk2 10/20
@@Kiddo_Crest That depends on the acrylic. But transparent, no, only Co2 will work. If you watch my newer videos on diode vs Co2 or cutting acrylic you will get more information.
So you can cut 1/8" acrylic with the 30 watt LaserMatic. Do you switch the engrave to 10 watt? Also, what do you set for the depth on the LaserMatic? Do the edges cut smoothly? Thanks.
I don't switch to use the 10w, the 30 works fine for me. Edges are good, somewhat like wood. Depth? I just use the gauge that comes with it. As I said in the video, 1/8 works great.
I'm have trouble cutting transparent acrylic with my 10w diode laser , i've tried differant settings and adjustments and still can't cut ! Is my laser not strong enough ? I can paint the back side reverse the image then it comes out wonderful as a picture but still can't cut through it ! It will cut 6mm wood easy and 6mm opaque acrylic no problem nice clean edges buit transparent , frosted and glitter give me trouble !
Don't have a laser matic, but i have a blue 20w diode. What are your thoughts on this? From your previous video you made, it has me excited about working with acrylic. Definitely have liked and subscribed!!
Any Diode should work. You may have to run a few passes if depending on thickness etc...I would try one or two and see how it goes. Try to stick with ones Craft Closet says are diode ready.
@@ValleyForged my wecreat 20watt diode laser auto setting is speed 5mm for black acrylic but I want to use glitter acrylic. using 300 speed makes me nervous because it's so much faster than the auto setting of 5. I just want to make sure this would also apply to mine before I do it. thank you.
@@twofrozenbananas5922 You have to test to find settings for your laser. Try a small circle first. Also, I am guessing your settings are MM per Second, my settings are MM per Minute. The 5 might be correct, or at least closer to correct.
oh okay, that seems to make sense I think my settings are mm/s. I have a question, do you have better luck with silver glitter acrylic that is masked? my acrylic does not have a mask on it so im assuming that's why its not cutting all the way through?
Thank you so much for all the info you give! Looking foward to the stamp project.
Awesome thanks great idea. It is binding the material to the steal to make it durable?
Sorry, I don't know what you are referring to
Sorry, Binding the Wood and Plastic to the steel bottle openers. Is it pretty durable? Thanks for getting back with me Sir@@ValleyForged

I noticed the some issues with blue-purple, engraves and cuts different than red-purple...

Thanks! I haven't seen the white core one yet. Will def stay away. Where do you get the metallic ones?
@@ValleyForged I picked them in a bundle from Amazon. I will see if I can find it and message you with the Info
Is there an alternative for acrylic cutting?
Can you explain more of what you mean?
@@ValleyForged I was hoping the Roly machine did acrylic cutting but unsure if it is the right tool for it.

@@ValleyForged Thank you!
i am looking at the Atom Stack and need to be able to cut 3mm and 5mm acrylic (i know clear cant be cut) need a bed size 400x 300mm
The X40 should be great for you. Kind of like Clack Shack runs. Of course there may be many other factors, so do your research.

Thanks. I was going to buy the 20/10 LaserMatic, but might step up to the 30/10.
Well, if you can afford the upgrade, I would for sure. Appreciate you using my link, and keep me posted on how you like it. :)@@BLUEMOONENTERPRISES
Can I cut any glitter acrylics on diode lasers

As I said in the video, you cannot do transparent or mirror (even with a 50w diode). If that is what you want to do, a Co2 would be your laser.

Can you cut with a 10W laser on any acrylic other than black?
Yes, but am not certain which ones. Perhaps some others have experience.
Whet settings do you use to cut the acrylic? And engrave? I have the same Roly. Even with masking I’m getting some burnt edges
Usually 300speed 100 power. I never go lower than that, so more passes if it does not work

I have a 20 watt diode. Similar results??
You should be able to do most 1/8" I mentioned. May take a few passes
Is 20 watt diode ok?
Yes, just make sure to test test test. :)
