Buying files on Etsy for a laser, 90% of the time is mostly a waste of money. *HOWEVER* buying files from Valley Forged are a *BARGAIN.* They are *PROVEN LASER FILES* and not just a graphic designer _claiming_ they work on a laser! This is an *incredible deal* Eric! The idea of setting your own price is also a game changer! I had a Patron who I gave a similar idea to last year, and she now uses it for all of the products she sells at craft shows!
@@ValleyForged I watch them all Eric! You have great content and I'm happy to see the channel growing! I just don't always have time or remember to comment 🤪
I agree that a lot of times people get caught up on files/planes/whatever. I'm into lasers cncs 3d printing and woodworking. I see a lot of people always asking for files/plans. I get it for big/unique type of things. But it's the basic things that I think going by files/plans just hold people back. Like it's far better to follow a tutorial than just run others plans.
I'm just getting into lasers. My Omtech 50w Co2 comes in on the 27th. Been watching all your videos, they've helped me get a understanding on what I'm getting into
I just wanted to publicly say thanks again for responding to me and giving me the information I was asking for. I look forward to purchasing from you on Etsy! 🎊 🙏🏻👍👊🏼
That would be great! I am still afraid the amount of wood, time to paint, cost of paint...too expensive to sell. BUT, for a gift I would totally do it.
I have MDF, MDF core plywood, Hardwood, Acrylic...I got all from Craft Closet. It just depends on the project I am using it for. Do you have a more specific question? For the crosses, yes, I use MDF Core Walnut or White Oak.
HELLO, I purchased your SVG package for the coasters featuring the kitty cat and other items Very nice and thank you, however, not a big fan of cats, do you have something like that but with dogs, not the corgi, but rather a face to face image like the kitty coaster. Please let me know, I would surely buy those as well. Thanks
Have watched your videos for some time with great interest. The our father crosses interest me. I live in the Chicago area with many Christine gifts shops through the area. Do you think there is a big enough market for the crosses to buy a Roly 30 possibly the new wide unit and do this as a major side hustle?
Of course, but don't think it will be a 'get rich quick' thing. I have made over 100 LP Crosses and it still feels like a new machine. Events at churches do super well.
I would agree mine venue is mostly farmers market so thing have to be low cost I used to turn high end bowls but found customers didn’t want to pay the price or see the value in a hand turned bowls
Yes, 12" if fine for most lasers. You can go as large or small as you want. You just need to get the right settings. Watch the step by step video as it will help.
@@ValleyForged Awesome, There is a market day at the local Church at the end of next month, and I want to give a go, at the package I just purchased from your site on ESTY. One step at a time Sir. Thanks
Hey sir, small question and I hope you can answer it for me, as I can't find this info in video's. Do you think a 40W Diode can be used for small stitching holes or is the laser spot too big? Have a nice day!
Yes, it would be just fine in my opinion. In fact, I think the quality of the machine/bearings are more important as it is moving so fast between holes. I would be more afraid of a 10w with rubber wheels.
I go over it in the step by step videos for each product, but I get it all from Craft Closet. You can also watch the "Where I get my wood" videos. Love to see how they come out :)
I would like to know the process of how to glue things together. I have tried several types of glue which none of them I like so far. What do you use and how do you stop the excess from oozing out around the edges and looking ugly?
It depends on the product. I use titebond wood glue for just wood things with tiny sponge sticks (craft store) to apply it evenly. I wipe the edges with my hand then wipe on a paper towel. Wood glue seems fine for doing that. For the bottle openers I use superglue, and sometimes for other things I need precision. For leather I use aqualim 315. I will think about making a video showing this. :)
In the description of the file you bought on ETSY there are videos for each of these files. If they do not provide all the info you asked for, let me know. I could just answer your question, but the videos should answer some you may ask next :)
Yeah, you kind of have to go by what people will pay. I would say it depends more on what show you do than trying to sell for super cheap. Sometimes I make more money on $5 keychains as they cost next to nothing to make.
Agreed. I do mention that in the video tutorial. Once I glue the two halves together, they seem to hold up much better. I am actually making some as I write this. Really great idea by the way!!
Hi, I would like to buy your $8 pack but have a qut, I've been lasering the Our Father Cross and I n more times than not the tiny printed line gets charred or burnt completely. The line"as we forgive those who" can you eliminate the line further down where it says "for thine is the kingdom ....* And just leave the amen, so the upper letters would be larger? Love the Cross but have difficulty burning it, Wally
It is all about settings my friend. There was a time I was having the same issue, until I got my settings right. It is very hard for me to figure it out over comments. Your type of laser, wattage, type of wood, speed etc...It may be you have to run double the speed, but two passes. If you are under 300mm per min. is when burning often happens. And you MUST be using air. I find lasers dangerous to cut without it.
I use super glue. I think I say what kind in the video I did for it. Works perfectly, but make sure you line it up well, because it is never coming off :)

to search for the markets online near me, do you search for craft markets, artistry shows, what should I be searching for to go check them out.
Anything. Try to find the cheaper ones to start. Meet other vendors and find out what the better shows are.
Where do you get your purse files? I did my first show this past Saturday and need some lady things?
I may be able to get it ready in May. It is a very tough thing to make easy, so I need to do some work on it.

Will you designs open in Corel or Adobe Illustrator? We are just getting into this and will likely be getting an Epilog laser.
The SVG can be opened in AI for sure. I am guessing Corel as well.
Your description says lightburn ready. Does that mean they can only be used with lightburn?
I include an SVG, so I know it works on most lasers. Many xtool users love my files.
