You had some great points here...my personal favorite is "KNOW YOUR AUDIENCE" I just crushed it at a local American Legion show, did a lot of Veteran themed items and sold out of all of them. Also when I do small community events I always try and have the town's name or theme embedded in items I make, local buyers want to buy stuff with their hometown name on it, and people traveling through will also buy them as a memento of their travels.
I learned that the "directors chair" size seat is truly the best. When I had a short chair I was exhausted at the end of the day from constantly having to stand up and meet customers. Great point.
I’m really curious: how did you make those earrings with the flowers (e.g. visible at 3:45)? I’m experimenting with various ways to color my pieces and these very small flowers can’t possibly be hand-painted, right? How did you make those? Thanks and thanks for the great videos!
Thanks for making this video. I recommend adding your Amazon affiliate link to things like the 1/8th inch hardwood in the RUclips description so your viewers can support you in other ways. Cool thing is that you can retroactively add affiliate links to your video descriptions to add a little extra profit to your channel.
Thanks for the tips. Question on your prints, how did you make the prints from the file you bought? Interesting way to attract attention like you mentioned.
I have the updated square with tap to pay. Almost everyone had that, and some even paid with their phone. Yeah, it is so easy, yet feels a bit wrong. I have the swipe thingy for backup.
@@ValleyForged Is that the one that attaches to your phone or is it the actual device that sits on the table? Do they really take 2.6% + .10 cents for every transaction?
Hey was just looking at the longer site and saw they have a new machine out. Longer b1. 30 watt for $999. Have you seen that? Any info. Can’t find anything besides on their site. Thanks brother
I just heard about it myself. Longer makes a good machine, but advertisement is not their strength it seems. I hope to get one to test ASAP as I use the Longer 20w all day everyday and love it.
@@ValleyForged for the money and power it might be my first laser. Website says spot is 0.08x0.1 That’s still pretty good for engraving I would think. Hopefully they will put up a video soon
@@paulm4327i know I'm a year late, but I bought the longer 10w and did all the upgrades. I have air assist, the double size extension and 20w laser head for around $800. I feel I'm in a good spot with it because I have the spare laser head and the expanded work area. The work area alone has made me so much money.

*Lots of good tips!* I find creative keychains and slate coasters always sell the best at craft shows.
Awesome! I love all the stuff you make and those coffee cups gift cards are so cooool! Thanks for giving us those great tips!
😅

Love the close ups of your stuff. Looks great man! Well done.
Thanks, Lasers are so amazing!
@@ValleyForged What kind of Laser do you have? Link please
@@mickidraven5117 Just watch my newer videos, I show you :)
Great video! I would love to see how you make those kitty yin yang coasters and how you paint your items! They look amazing!
Deal! I should be on that within the next few days.
A LOT of good tips. Great video.
Thanks, let me know if you have any other questions.

The flowers are hand painted. I used the same graphic as the card to make the outline, then hand painted and clear coat
Awesome video, I will be doing my first ever craft show
Love to hear how it goes. And what you forget, lol. :)

I actually used Walmart. The prints are pretty cheap
@@ValleyForged Thanks
What do you use at these shows to take payments? I use the phone jack square and I feel like I’m behind the times.

so im preparing for a Halloween and fall fest what should i know and do ? i have a laser but dont know where to begin
Get lightburn, do some testing, get to know what your laser will do. Got to etsy, download some ez fun things to make. Profit :)
I think craft fairs give you maybe a 5% look into the market. Not saying you should carry those card holders for 20 shows but maybe 5-10?
I think I said something like that as well. But many of these were 'mothers day', so there is that
Anyone doing the show circuit look at the Eurmax tent. Soooo much quality. Worth the extra $100 or so.
nah. be salesy.
