    Curious I have 2 bearded dragons 1 younger male and one older female should they be in separate tanks? and I also have a young kitten which seems to get along with the male but the female doesn't like the kitten, my kitten has learned to stay away but is there any other precautions I should take ?

      To be honest cats and lizards are mortal enemies in most instances and even if you don't see signs of altercations or what seems to just be curiosity could be stressing the bearded dragon out very bad. Also they will definitely need to be separated if they are different sizes and different sexes. The bigger dragon can bully the smaller Dragon away from food and the mail will definitely try to breed the female as soon as he reaches sexual maturity. He will constantly hound and try to engage the female and she will be stressed out. I guarantee you the kitten is stressing the female out and could become unhealthy at some point. I will try to not let the kitten in the same room as the dragons. When the kitten becomes a cat it could definitely be, serious issue. In my reptile business, I will not sell a lizard to a household that I know has cats. It almost always never ends well and usually the cat owner only has to mess up one time and it cost the lizard either a life or a severe injury. Thanks for supporting the channel

      @Dragon_Whisperer iam getting them separate tanks this week I adopted them of a mate who could no longer care for them and I've already seen the female try attack the younger male so separated tanks is definitely happening and as for the kitten she's roughly 7 months old and sort of submits to the male lizard she goes upside down and purrs but I will do my best to keep them separated iam gonna be setting the lizards up in the spare room as of this week which I will keen door closed unless iam in there thank you for your advice

      @@krazydan829 AWESOME!! Bless you for taking in animals that were not cared for and I admire you so much for doing that. I know sometimes it puts us in difficult situations financially and sometimes we can't always give the animals exactly what they need right at the time of adoption but I know you are doing the best you can and I know you will do what is right. Thank you once again for reaching out and I will always try to reply to all of my comments

    Could I use hemp bedding? I already use it for my mice so I thought it might work it’s not like wood chips but not small enough to accidentally eat

      Good question. I honestly don't know much about hemp bedding. I'll have to do some research! Thanks for supporting the channel!

    Also what do you do if your beardie HATES BATHS?

    • @Dragon_Whisperer
      @Dragon_Whisperer  Год назад

      Try different temperatures. Some beardies are more sensitive to the temperature of water than they are to the temperature of rocks and hard surfaces. You can also try putting a fish tank bubbler or something to stir up the water, some like moving water better than steel water but some are like children and just don't like it no matter what you do LOL Sometimes the water gets too cold too quick as well so you could try putting a small tub on top of a heating pad or heat mat to keep the water warm longer. Please let me know how it goes!

    FANTASTIC VIDEO! But you forgot the most important thing with the reptile carpet. It's a breeding ground for bacteria if it can't be cleaned when your untrained beardie poops on it. This is so important because of Coccidia and the like. I uuat burried a rescue from that exact problem and it tore me up that i couldn't save him. Cried like a baby. It just happened sunday evening and it was traumatic to watch and be so helpless while he struggled to take his last breath. Its not something anyone wants to watch.
    Also a life hack that makes hydration easier on us beardie parents. 3mil pippettes are saviors!
    They don't get hydration from baths unless they actually drink the water. It has been debunked that dragons soak water through their skin in baths.
    Very very knowledgeable video and of course there's always something that's forgotten so that's what the comments are for. Did you mention male sperm plugs? Nail trimming for those who arent kept on tile?
    Just discovered your channel and love it!
    And i have a sweet spot for Ninja! She is just too sweet.
    My female dragon is as sweet as can be tok. Alwaya snuggling my cheek when i hold her. I just love beardies so much. I spoil mine like my kids.
    My dream is to own a witblit or zero one day. I have giant hypo and regular dragon now. Atleast i think she's a regular dragon. She gravid at the moment and turned a pretty pinkish color. Who knows. All i know is my male is huge compared to a typical dragons though he's not fat at all.
    Also please get a mic so we can hear you better. Your channel isa godsend for beardie owners!

    I want to get a bearded dragon but live in a very humid climate ( 65-85%). Any tips on how to keep the tank and room arid?

    • @Dragon_Whisperer
      @Dragon_Whisperer  2 года назад

      Use a small dehumidifier you can get cheap on Amazon or your local hardware store. Also rice in a sock or hose hidden in the enclosure will help. Sorry for the late response!

    Don’t use those curly uv lamps, those are bad

    • @Dragon_Whisperer
      @Dragon_Whisperer  4 месяца назад

      They are not bad they are just not as good as the strip bulbs. They still produce UVB light and a lot of people cannot afford the long expensive light fixtures and expensive strip bulbs. They are not ideal but they are an okay alternative
