Had literally JUST looked up beardie care guides and was marveling at how little videos there are on the matter, and then boom
Y same!! I just had to check how old the video is lol.
Y text me
Jay Gabbana wtf
Then y’all suck at searching stuff
Jay Gabbana dafuq-
I know more about how to take care of my non-existent reptiles than I know about my upcoming chemistry test😂😧
I'm supposed to be doing business calculus homework or dishes.... lol
😂 same
You should study! Lol
@@GG.Plans_Goat yeah, probably should've. Wonder how I did on that test.

even though i’ve had my beardie for almost two years now and have been around reptiles for a long time. i still watch these
Sammeee except mine is a little younger
It's always good to stay up to date on pet care and learn new things
Same. There's always more to learn.
@@17Fidelis75 agreed
Same Although I’ve had mine for four 😂
"I'm just afraid he's gonna poop on me" I'm watching this with my beardie sitting on my chest and I'm keeping my eye on her just waiting for the butt wiggle😂
Been there done that poop central. Its a mom thing. No worries. Thats what little ones do. Lol.
lol
I’m scared it might bite me that’s why I’m scared to get another pet even tho I took good care of it and did so much research I really want one 😪
they don’t really bite it’s quite rare haha
Lil veggie Plant my beardie is about 8 months old now and she’s only accidentally bit me 3 times when I hand fed her but it doesn’t hurt at all. Most Beardies are very friendly especially if you raise them from babies.
I am getting a bearded dragon after quarantine, i did a lot of research and this video helped a lot... Thank you!
It is so worth it :) Mine loves strawberries and dandelion greens.
SAMMEEE! I’m so exited I’m like so impatient to soo 😭😭😭😭😭
Sameee hopefully
Same here!
Mila Grubisic I already have one and they are so cute and funny and he loves raspberry’s

They sell Aqueon 75 gal at my local Petco. Sometimes even larger tanks during the dollar per gallon sale. Keep your eye out if you're looking for a deal!
It's going on right now! Ends April 18th :)
Mine has two 90 gallons at the moment!
That’s the one I have!
Geraldine V aWHAT WHAT I DIDNT KNOW THAT WAS A THING DANG IT
Just make sure they are wide enough, most big tanks at pet stores are too narrow for an adult bearded dragon.
Thanks so much for this! My brother neglected his bearded dragon for almost a year and I finally have a chance to take him and give him the correct care and love he needs. This video is perfectly timed. I already deep cleaned his 6x4x4 cage and started on a correct diet and gave him one bath to help with poop and shedding. :)
I’m not gonna lie I neglected my bearded dragon for couple years and he stood in the back house luckily my dad took care of him I went back there today and he looked so sad so I’m looking forward to getting him new stuff and taking proper care of him :)
r u the person from tiktok?? like ur vid blew up?
Well I hope yes good
How often do they need baths?
Jesus Christ where did you get a 6x4x4 cage please respond
My mother randomly told me she is getting my brother... The one who is lazy and never takes care of his animals. A bearded dragon... Whenever a sibling of mine get a pet... I end up taking care of it and it becomes mine... So now I'm preparing for "my" bearded dragon. That is coming tomorrow -_- thanks I for this video though it is really helpful!
How’s it going
Omg that’s so crazy, I just took in my sisters bearded dragon because she was a horrible pet owner and I’m about 5 days in, any tips?

We bought my bearded dragon from pet smart. We didn’t know about them until after. Our beardie was an impulse buy. 3 years later and we love him so much🥺 the best $40 we’ve ever spent lol. His name is Obi Wan

So buying them from pet smart is a good idea
Where else could you buy bearded dragons from I went to pet smart and seen them laying on each other having fun they looked like they were ok
@@jamiejaurequi8405 no, they got lucky
Gacha Watermelon Not necessarily. The person just got lucky. Most of the time the beardies don’t get the proper care at chain pet stores. And they are more likely to have a disease or problems.
My husband came home today with a bearded dragon, his friend gave it to him because he’s deploying this video helped sooo much thanks!!

You should make a video on how to properly sterilize outdoor wood, rocks, etc.
I just baked the wood in my oven! It kills any bugs that could be in there or bacteria. I got 3 sturdy branches in my enclosures for my bbs. And for rocks, hot hot water. Let it dry. Then add to enclosure!
Or if your outdoor wood doesn’t fit in a oven then wash it in a bath with warm/hot water and scrub it and that will also take out any bacteria hope that helps.
Montana G how long does the wood need baked?
@@montielovesyouu how long do you bake and what temperature do you set the oven?
And what kind of wood is safe
I loved bearded dragons ever since I saw “ holes” the movie. Always thought they were cute .
Emma I got a bearded dragon last month and I named her big daddy 😂
Sophie Foster lol
Right that was my first viewing of them lol
My Beardies name is madame zeroni
I feel bad that I got a beardie from petsmart and regret supporting them but I also think he deserves a good life and I’m going to work hard to make him happy and healthy. He’s a very good boy and seems healthy thus far!
How's he doing?
Persmart gives falls infos ab animals so if they die you come back.and get another i got my beardie from pet smart too last month luckily my friend knows every thing about beardies and told me everything that they can eat petsmart told me beardies cannot have food but that turned out to be a lie!
@@Whosmiclol they can not have food? They told you they don’t eat?
I got mine from petco hes been healthy for 4 years so far
21:56 his bearded dragon is posing for the camera, I love it! 😆
Ikr :3))
I work at “pet supplies plus” and and they reptiles we get have to go through quarantine in the back room where we do treat them if they have diseases. Now I can’t speak for petsmart or petco but my Store takes care of the animals.
i have a petco and a pet supplies plus in my area
will definitely have to check out ur store
Also I would love this kind of care video for a ball python!!
I think admitting mistakes really helps beginners, knowing that everyone has made at least 1 mistake. ❤️
I'm glad you mentioned having money set aside for vet bills, as I see so many posts online from people who have a sick exotic pet and haven't done this and so they can't afford vet bills. I would also add that anyone considering an exotic pet should make sure they have an exotic vets local enough to them, as that's another thing many people fail to look into before getting a reptile and it's sometimes only once they become sick that their owner realises they can't find a vet to treat them, as most vets don't.
This video is awesome, I have a bearded dragon and I’ve had her for about six months, so not that long. I still am researching even though I was researching about their care for six months I still am researching and will never stop. Keep up the good work, Tyler, you’re the best RUclipsr ever
birder me too but for 8 months! I think continuing to learn is the best thing to do for our beardies ☺️
I already have had my bearded dragon, Yoda for 3-4 years but I wanna watch this
A coworker of mine is giving her beardie away and I've been very interested in getting one for a couple years. She was telling me about him and it sounds like they have just stopped caring for him and it makes me so sad and mad. His bulb went out a month ago, they only feed him crickets even though he is 4 years old, he is in a 20 gal enclosure and he is rarely taken out of it. I told her I would take him and I'm anxious to get this poor guy and give him a better life. I loved your helpful video and am open to any more tips or advice for getting this guy in good health. Obviously I will getting him to the vet first thing too.
how’s he doing?
Hows it going with him?
I watched your videos before I got my bearded dragon, now I’ve had him for a year and he’s my perfect lil bby. I still watch these care guides cause the more info the better :)
For supplements, I do 3x calcium to 2x multivitamen over a 2 week period for adults and 5x calcium and 2x multivitamin over a 2 week period for babies. I don’t use D3 as I don’t want to overdose it, that’s just what I do tho :)
i’ve had my beardie for almost a year now, i still watch TONS of these vids so i can be the best beardie mom that i can be! this is my first beardie and i did happen to get him from petco (bad decision) but he is perfectly healthy💕
I adopted a young beardie that needed a home through Craigslist a few months ago, love him SO much! I researched a lot before getting him, but it's always good to keep learning more from other people's experiences as well. Thanks for such an informative video, love how easy-going you are to listen to (and hey, not too bad to look at either! 😉😍😘).
I got my beardie from Petsmart, and I don’t recommend! She’s very healthy now, and we did work very hard to make sure she developed no health issues while she was young. She does have many weird kinks in her tail due to her origins. They sold her while she was far too young (2-3 months old) and many I see being sold there now are even younger. They keep water bowls in their enclosure and keep several different sized babies in the same tank. The tank is super small as well. Just dont buy animals from petsmart.
@Marcelo Delgado a breeder
@Marcelo Delgado reptile expo, breeder, reptile retail (there are stores that sell reptiles-only, not like petsmart), and believe or not, cragslist. A lot of people sell theirs because they are moving, or cant longer care much for them, and most of the time they are healthy. Oh and of course, online reptile stores! (although they tend to be more expensive, not including the shipping).
But petco doesnt automatically means bad beardies. They do have a bad reputation, and its very very true, 90% of petsmarts are horrible with reptiles. But that doesnt mean your local one is bad. You just have to personally go and check them out. One of my two beardies is from a petsmart, and he is very healthy, always has been since I got him 3 years ago. He did have a very very mild case of coccidia (worms) but it was waaay after I got him from petsmart, I took him to the vet, got a 1 week medication, and returned to normal, not like he was sick and not eating, he looked and behaved completely normal, and the vet said he almost didnt prescribed him the medication because it was a very low levels of coccidia. But anyways, my point is, check out your petsmart and look for this things:
1. Do they house a bunch of beardies in one tank? red flag
2. Are they in small tanks? red flag
3. Are they in loose substrate like sand? red flag
4. Are they literally 1-3 weeks old? (yes I've seen that and its aweful they do that) red flag
5. Are they lethargic and not very active? Including not wide open eyes and not very alert? red flag
6. Check each individual beardie, how they behave. Are they basking or just chilling in a good straight posture with their head up, are they in good weight, what have they been
feeding them and with supplements or not, check the temperature in their tanks and see if they are good or not.
And maybe other points that I'm forgetting to say.
If the stores that I said above are not available to you, or cant buy from them, do go and check your petsmart, you never know, their beardies might just be in good condition and healthy. Mine was, I made sure to check everything before I bought him, and I don't regret it one bit. He is awesome and has been a lovely beardie since day 1 at his permanent home.
I just realize your comment is 1 month old now, so I hope you made the right decision and bought your beardie!
Petsmart sells very unhealthy animals. Just walk by their fish tanks and see all the dead fish for proof.
Nik I agree, though the petsmart i live near takes good care of their fish, at least enough to keep them alive. They don’t give them nearly enough room though
LYNISE JONES make 1000% sure they have the proper lighting and temperatures and a nice basking spot, feed them lots of calcium-coated crickets, and just keep an eye on ‘em.
Thank you for posting this. Ever since Margo became famous, I’ve been noticing people have been compulsively getting bearded dragons.
Just got a call for rehoming a beardie baby this video is a life saver
I’ve been a Beardie owner for almost a year now and realized a few months ago that we’ve been doing it wrong!! Once we realized that we did so much research and are continuing to keep her happy and healthy! This video helped me a lot thank you!!
I've been waiting for a general care guide for beardies from you for ages! So glad we finally got one. I've had my boy for a little over two years and my aim is to eventually make him a bioactive enclosure (but I'm not in a steady place in my life right now/am moving frequently so it would be more hassle than it's worth). I also have trouble keeping his humidity low enough and keeping his temps high enough, and he is a picky one and doesn't want to eat his salads. I have a food scale that I use to monitor his weight though, and take him to annual checkups to make sure he's doing good. I really love you channel Tyler, keep up the good work! :)
I'm getting a beardie this week and this is so helpful!
Same!!! I’m naming him Turtle and I’m so exited!!! 🖤🖤🖤
My mom just started giving me an allowance so I’m starting to save up for a beardie! I have always wanted one and I’ve heard they are amazing starter pets. My mom also has experience with them. I’m making sure to get as much info as I can because I want my little buddy to be happy 🌝
I love the video, I had no idea I had other options such as a 70-90 gallon enclosure. I keep watching videos that everyone says buy a 120-gallon enclosure. They don't seem to understand that not everyone has the luxury of having space for a 120-gallon enclosure. I feel yours is very doable.😻
My place is very small and I wish I could have him in a 120gallon. I’m going to buy him a 50gallon for the moment and going to let him exercise around my apartment.
I’m getting my first beardie soon, so excited :) naming him loki
Did you get it?
My dogs name is loki lol love that name!🤣
I had a turtle a few years ago but I haven't had a reptile in a while so I've decided that I'm gonna try again and this time I'm gonna try a beardie, thanks for posting this, I've been doing a ton of research but this video does a very good job of putting everything in an easy to understand format
My best friend is surrendering her bearded dragon to me today. I’ve known and held this beardy since he was a baby. I’m so excited to start this 15-20+ year journey! Thank you so much for making this video!
I've just rescued a bearded dragon from my cousin who did her best but is having severe life issues. This is my 4th or 5th video watching to help get him up to health, definitely the cutest guy to watch on here. Thank you for the video and links!!
When quarantine is over, my grandma PROMISED to get me one! And this video was very helpful ❤️
a little tip - CHECK CRAIGSLIST FOR BEARDED DRAGONSSSS. Just make sure you look at their living conditions and look for symptoms of them being sick. Some animal shelters keep reptiles but its pretty rare for them to have a bearded dragon.
What are some symptoms that I should look for?
This video came in handy as I'm getting my beardie soon! Thanks for always making quality content Tyler!
I love your posts on bearded dragons. I think the videos are easy to follow, very informative and enjoyable. We are due to pick up our bearded dragon within the next week, and as first time owners , are a little nervous at getting things right. Your videos have given me so much reassurance that I am feeling a lot happier........thank you
Great video! I’m going to get a bearded dragon soon and this helped me a *lot* now I know what I need to get thankssss
Wow, I bought my first Fancy Bearded Dragon 3 Days ago. This Video is going to be a Lifesaver for me. Just Subbed & Liked. Thanks for this Video
I’ve watched your videos in the past, but I just got a baby bearded dragon (Enzo) and was looking up care and training info prior to getting him... It was honestly so stressful watching other people’s videos about bearded dragons because so many people weren’t handling or caring for them adequately 🙃 so glad I found your channel again for information that is actually helpful! 💜
I love how great you are at explaining things!! I just got two baby beardies a lil less than a month ago, and I can't wait for them to get as big as yours!
Loved this vid Tyler, thank you! I am a new beardie owner as of this year! I have wanted one for a long time and then an opportunity to rescue this adorable pint sized beardie came along and I knew it was my time! I have been watching ALL of your videos about bearded dragon care and husbandry and I love all of them, they've been super helpful. I love all your vids in general haha. It would be cool if you could do one about getting picky beardies to eat! Tips and tricks on how to make sure they are eating enough and eating all of the nutritious foods they need. I have tried a few different things but he thinks he's the Queen of Shiba and loves to be tong fed and thats almost the only time I will get him to eat his greens. it would be nice to not have to always do that, but I will do it if I must. Also it would be helpful to know what the signs are that your dragon is overweight and underweight. Food for thought! Thanks Tyler!
I'm getting one near the end of may! Thank you, this really helps :)
Out of all of the videos I’ve seen in the internet this one was definitely the most helpful! You just saved my life thank you I’ve been really wanting to buy a bearded dragon but all these other videos are so confusing and yours was just the best!
This was good timing for me😂 thank you I love your channel and the amount of care you give your pets😊

I've only had my baby beardie for 2 months, I'm still gonna watch this incase something had been missed. (Don't worry, I did as much research as possible before getting my beardie Yoda)
I just finally adopted my first beardy (after having only geckos/amphibians for YEARS), his first home got him from a chain pet store so I'm hoping he doesn't have any genetic issues but I'll be finding out as soon as my exotic vet opens up for new patients again (covid issues) . I watched this just to cover anything I may have missed and I'm so glad I already had everything down pact! Thanks so much for this video and I hope most people who have no clue on taking care of them, watch this video!
Man you just saved my life! I thought I was going to have to spend 900 bucks just on an enclosure and a stand to get the size I wanted, thank you so much for sharing those links!

Tyler Rugge hahaha I love your channel!!
Im gettin one soon :>
I'm looking into getting a bearded dragon (this would be my first lizard at an age I can remeber lol) but I really dont know where to look at buying one I have a somewhat preferred type that I'd like to buy but that's really just a preference. The age range I was looking at was around 5 months to a year old maybe (but that's just a small preference once again) I just want to get one that is coming from a good place not just a retail pet store or something of that sort. And I live in a small town so theres really not any obvious place for me to be looking that I know of either way it's going to be a drive or shipping to get one and I know that I just need help at finding a starting place...
You could try Facebook groups, googling "bearded dragon for adoption", reptile expos if possible, or morphmarket. Hope this helped and hope you have a great day :) best of luck on your beardie adventure !
Update? ^^^
Thank you for the info on the reptile enclosure. Just the size I was looking for. I’ll be getting one of the zen habitats once my baby beardie grows up more.

I’ve been thinking of getting an emotional support animal. I can’t get a dog because my dog at home would be very defensive. He was used as ‘bait’ for the fighting dogs. It’s a miracle that he survived. My dog is afraid of other dogs and will attack out of fear. So I’m starting to realize how perfect beardeds are for emotional support animals. Thanks!
I bought mine from petco and she seems so healthy to me she runs around and eats her greens so idk 🤷♂️
You just got lucky. For future reference please don’t buy animals from petco
I have no intentions on getting a bearded dragon but your my favorite pet youtuber so Im still gonna watch it. Im more of a skink person. I still love bearded dragons though😁
Great video! Love your enthusiasm and obvious passion for all your animals:) I'm looking forward to adding a beardie to our collection - we've got one set aside at our local (not big brand) pet store, they should be arriving there in the next couple weeks. I'm so excited!
I am getting a bearded dragon today I am researching all I can and luckily I had a very knowledgeable worker help us with that yesterday when we were looking and I have a tortoise so I know a bit about the background of reptiles. I fell in love with one when holding it and looking at it and I am so excited this was very helpful and I use the same light for my tortoise!
