Steve was taken from us too soon. It's sad to think that there are new generations who never knew the kindness and love this man had for both animals and people
It's fascinating how nature experts have such charisma. You'd expect them to be boring. David Attenborough: comfy and informational. Steve Irwin: exitable and fun. Coyote Peterson: absolute madman.
I wouldn't mention Coyote Peterson on the same breath with Sir David, and Steve Irwin. I appreciate Peterson's work but he isn't quite there yet. Garnering views by doing daredevil sting stunts isn't "education". Nature expert? Entertaining fellow sure. I'm not hating, just stating facts. I like Coyote Peterson.
I can't emphasize enough how much this man has influenced me in the way of conservation. I remember watching him as an American boy and learning how important it is just to learn about nature in general. He always had a beautiful insight and knowledge about every animal that was encountered on his show. Probably one of the most savvy with reptiles as well. Me and my dad have admired him because of our love for turtles... He's passed on now, but I still save turtles off the road when I can, because it's a good thing to do... RIP, Steve and to me dad as well... May we all rest in peace when our time comes.
Notice how he said “I’ve had to rescue a number of these snakes from frightened people.” And not “I’ve had to rescue a number of people from this frightening snake.” You’re my hero Steve.
Still cant believe we lost this gem of a human so long ago now. Steven is an absolute goat of a person. Everything you want to be as a full rounded person ❤
I believe it was called a lifetime of training around these deadly snakes and others that allowed him to approach them in that fashion. If you notice he generally told people to not do as he did, he was trained professional. When I was still rescuing reptiles, I would handle most of the snakes with just taking them gently by the tail, except or two rattlesnakes species. It is all in the way you are taught or grew up. //es//Retired Owner of Shelly's Rescue Service.
