Wow this guy really, really got it and gets it. Still true to this day. His comments on used games shows a real world awareness the industry doesn't normally have.

I truly think microsoft is a good company, but they went wrong with the xbox one.
The only reason they got rid of drm and always online was not because they listened to their customers, it was because they listened to everyone's wallets closing

Jack Tretton is so down to earth and definitely makes gamers feel comfortable with getting a ps4. I didn't get that feeling when watching Microsoft interviews because they barely ever talked about the games and the gaming aspect of their console. Well done Sony. You got my money.

I am aware that there are more 360 fans than ps3 ones. But why the hell do people keep paying for online??? I know people are gonna say that Xbox live has less bugs or something like that. But I have a ps3, and I have encountered no problems!!! Why do people pay for xbox live!!!
what's special in xbox is about the free games, No cheating, No hacking and you can always report a player plus we don't need to buy Cards in order to pay our bills we use Visa i pay for xbox live for like 10$ a month but it doesn't matter cuz you'll get the features. I know that ps3 is better in terms of features and its multiplayer, Sony has more fans than microsoft
Yeah, I was wondering about that too. Whether I pay for online multiplayer or not, I expect it to work. I love the PS3 and Wii U mainly because of the exclusives, but the 360 has most games that I can get on the PS3 too.
anaknidorobo Free games? You mean all those games from 5 years ago that no one wants anymore!? HAHAHAHA PS+ gives you games you actually want to play, so in that regard PSN is better than LIVE. Also, Sony's online feature's suck, no cross game chat being the biggest missing feature. Thats why I play multiplayer on Xbox and Singleplayer on PS3 :)
The Gaming Doomfloyd Playstation Plus starting giving out free games way before Microsoft even thought about it. Difference is the free games on PS+ are actually new and appealing. example they just had Saints row 3.

That's a really good question. From what I know, if you pay that $5 it includes everything from you being a PS Plus member for a month to getting your online multiplayer connection.

Currently no...but there working with a thing called gika (or something like that) im not to sure but i think it allows you to download ps3 and maybe some ps2 and ps1 games later down the line.

Up until the week ending June 15 the PlayStation 4 currently leads in the total number of pre-orders with about 75,000. The Xbox One is lagging behind with 45,000 pre-orders, also amazon is sold out of both ps4 and xbox ones BUT there are way more bundles of the PS4 on amazon.
I remember meeting a man that looked to be around 80 years old in a videogames store when I was 12. I was buying final fantasy chronicles, when a game that looked scary caught my eye and he picked it up and bought it.
Not sure why I remember, but it IS a cool memory.
Yeah, it's been mentioned that even running a 4k User Interface alone would eat up about 10GB/s bandwidth. So, they aren't going to be going 4k for games, although it's possible that a small indie game could possibly push 4k if they chose to. Overall, 1080p is what we'll be seeing games do in general. The 4k will be for the Ultra HD movie viewing.
I wish I can say "Never too old to game" when I reach Jack's age. That would be awesome!

I'm more of an Xbox fan, but I''ll be getting both consoles as well.
The information about consoles is shared with the game developers. They get a simple developers kit that includes the consoles specs and what ever policy they have that they need to know. Do you think that they wait until the system is already out then satrt making a game for it?

"video games now have the ability to evoke emotions." Final Fantasy 4 was a masterpiece and made me cry way back then, and there have been several others since then. Earthbound is another from that generation that comes to mind.
The Famicom had a modem that only worked in Japan and the Dreamcast supported internet multiplayer 2 years before PS2 and 4 years before Xbox.

I was at Game the other day and they asked me did I want to preorder a console, the girl at the counter explained there were 2 tiers, and that if I was second tier I wouldn't get a console until February. She then said "well not so much Xbox One" and went on to explain that many customers are switching to PS4 and have expressed disinterest in X1 following E3.

they were both selling until 4 DAYS ago at amazon untill they got sold out. Oh by the way, I think the PS4 bundles were released on june 15th but im not sure about that. On June 20-21 Gamestop was taking unlimited PS4 orders so NO they did not stop taking preorders on June 15th and YES up untill the week ending June 15th the PS4 sold 75,000 approx and Xbox One sold 4500 approx, hopefully you didn't think I meant the numbers as exactly 75000 and 45000.

When I talk about styled graphics I'm not talking about car games. I'm talking about character models in game. Nobody goes for realistic character models anymore because its harder, it takes more time and money, and you run the risk off falling into the uncanny valley. One game that actually does do realistic character models is Crysis 3.

Can you tell us something about some of the exclusives (the new IP's) that are coming out for PS4? I'm not asking for a plot or a character description, I just want to know if they're going to be as good as some of the current-gen games. I love your exclusives because they play with my emotions and they're hard to forget because of that. Great stories, great gameplay... Are we getting some of these games on PS4?
Yup it's for people that don't have PS Plus, so you're all set. PS Plus members are safe. As he said in the conference, those who are already a member can carry their information to the PS4.
I'm going to hold off on the new consoles for a little bit. I want to play some games I never got to play.

You know what they should do for the PS4 only? They should make it where if you buy a game on disk and you play it, it downloads digitally. So if you lose your disk you could still play.
if i had not played ether system but had done a lot of research. of the past and looking at what system would better fit my needs in the up coming generations and life style the Xbox one would be the right fit. yes at first glance the systems are vary similar the ps4 with what looks faster rams and more Tara-flops, but standard PC style.
I like the attitude that he's taking with his company and consumers. I feel safe investing in Playstation with this guy at the wheel.
