at low speeds, that is not the sound of the electric, that is an artificially generated hum, all electrics (no matter the manufacturer) are legally bound to have it, it comes from outside installed & oriented speakers and it is intended to alert pedestrians that Zoe is back in town ... to me it sounds like an alien ship is about to land (when you decelerate) and takes off (when you accelerate) only into the 0 30 0 Km/h interval ... it fades gently after 28 - 33Km/h or so, in my test drive vehicle at least
